I was a little nervous going in, but they made me feel completely comfortable and confident the entire time. The woman who did my hair and makeup was incredible--she truly worked magic and made me feel beautiful before I even stepped in front of the camera. The photographer was phenomenal. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, but she guided me through every pose with patience and expertise. Her direction and encouragement made a huge difference, and it shows in the final photos--which turned out stunningly! This was such an empowering and fun experience. I'm masc and was really hesitant to do it because I didn't think they would portray my gender in a way I would be comfortable, and I was right, they did not. I was in the best shape of my life and wanted to see my abs and arms highlighted in the photos, and they were not. Everyone was very nice and professional, but the whole experience was very cookie cutter. I e seen other people's boudoir photos from here and it's the same makeup, sets, poses, etc. If you want the same typical soccer mom newborn/quince/wedding/ even boudoir photos everyone gets, sure, this place is great. But if you're weird and not trying to celebrate the typical things people get photos for, or you're trans or gender non-conforming, I would go somewhere else.

Can you relate to the following? 1. You've thought about doing this before, but wanted to wait until you got fitter, hair was longer, blah blah blah - NO, STOP IT. I know you've looked back to photos of yourself and thought "damn, why was I so critical? I looked great!" LEARN YOUR LESSON! You look great now, too. Book ittttttt 2. You've gotten professional photos done before, and didn't totally love how they turned out. ME TOO. This includes professional headshots, engagement photos, wedding photos, my passport photo (ha). I would see them and think okay those are nice, a like a few, but somehow they felt like they didn't really capture how I see myself. CARA SPECIFICALLY, not just any photographer, will capture YOU how you see yourself. It's the absolute beeeeeest. Which leads to point 3: 3. Have you ever seen yourself in the mirror and are like "hell yeah, nice!" and then you see yourself in a photo the same day and you're like "what the hell....is my mind warped?!" And then you have to ask your friends/sister "yo do I look like that?" And they say no definitely not? Yeah I don't get it either. It's weird (and the cameras fault- not yours) - and it won't happen with Cara. You'll look bomb and your photos will show you looking bomb. The champagne helped too! ;-) Once we got into the shoot I never felt self conscious at all. Paula did my makeup perfectly! Where do I start?!…read more Carisma was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with from the moment she walked in (: As a videographer, Carisma has such a great eye for shots that I would have never even thought to come up with. Example 1: while getting my makeup and hair done, I turned around to look for her when I realized she wasn't in the room - she was in the kitchen window that looks into the living room getting a cool perspective shot! Example 2: she had her camera pointing towards a big mirror, so she was filming me in the reflection while also capturing a really neat light-reflection effect in the mirror's frame. She is creative with her angles while making sure they are tasteful. I worked with her on a boudoir shoot and as the model, I felt like it could have easily gone either way - super awkward or super great. Luckily for me, thanks to Carisma and the rest of the wonderful team, it was super great! Her soft-spokenness made me feel so comfortable and I trusted her completely to portray me in a positive way. As a person, she is such a sweet, down-to-earth, and humble woman despite being so INCREDIBLY talented! She's one of those people you immediately like because you can tell that she's just a genuinely good person. Carisma and her team provided videography services for our June 2018 wedding. Leading up to the…read morebig day, Carisma was extremely helpful and pleasant. We met to discuss my vision and she offered ideas and her professional opinion. As we grew closer Carisma and my photographer exchanged contact information and coordinated various items over the phone and through email. I really appreciated this extra step as it showed me that they had my future husband and my best interest in making sure our day felt natural, not staged and was well organized. On our wedding day, temperatures were in the upper 90s, but Carisma and her team kept going with smiles on their faces. The Bridal Party and I made sure they were hydrated and fed, and they essentially became party of our group, singing on the trolley with us as we approached our venue. During the ceremony and reception, I knew Carisma was there capturing every moment but I didn't feel crowded or pressured. Ultimately, once we received our footage, I could not be more pleased with the story she told. The final products (highlight + full feature) captured the magic of our day perfectly and I could not imagine anything done differently.

I had a vague idea about what I wanted and the "feel" for the photo. I also felt really uncomfortable about being in front of a camera to create a "professional" look. It was all a bit nerve-wracking for me. Mary took the time to listen to my ideas and suggest solutions. She is easy to work with and put me at ease. She wasn't afraid to try a few different approaches until we found one where I felt comfortable and it was conveying what I wanted it to convey. My problem now is choosing which photos I want from all the great ones she captured. I really did not expect that to be my problem at the end of this. I was able to book my shoot right when I wanted to (didn't have to schedule out months) and her fees were so much more accessible than other options in the Seattle area. During the shoot she made me feel so comfortable and I felt as though I was with a friend of years! The turnaround time for photos was actually shorter than she had previously estimated which was a lovely surprise. The photos show her amazing abilities in guiding a model/working with light, and editing. I was blown away seeing my album.
