Without realizing we were cutting into the line because we came from the opposite end of the store we started to place our purchases on the belt. We were rudely informed by some young man obviously an employee, that we were to remove our packages and get to the end of the line. No explanation, no smile, nothing! I guess he decided that we had done it intentionally. We apologized and picked up our groceries. It wasn't necessary to be so nasty about it. He could have given us the benefit of the doubt. When it was our turn to check out lady at the express customer service counter where rude young man ultimately directed us to go was equally as dour and unfriendly. My friend accompanying me was from out of town and commented that this was the most unfriendly grocery she had ever been in. Next time we'll just go to Metro. I was embarrassed!

Freshco to me seems to be a bit like a no-frills, maybe just a bit better. (Incidentally they are building a NF in my 'hood!) Overall, it's ok, but not my favourite. On the upside, you need practical and affordable groceries, and this chain served the need on this day.

TL;DR/The Short Version: It's a grocery store, lol, but has…read moresome local items that other Metro locations across Canada don't have. The Long Version: So everytime I'm visiting a city or town that's far from home (far being a relative term, but anywhere about 100km or more from my house, lol) I like to check out the grocery stores, even the large chains, because I find stores always have local items that I can't easily get at home. So while we were in Perth, ON, my husband humoured me and came with me to the Perth Metro. I was thrilled to see local-ish items like Artizen Kombucha (brewed in Perth) and Merrickville Bakery cookies (not in Perth but Merrickville is nearby and closer to Perth than it is to Ottawa, where I'm living). I also spotted an alcoholic version of Tahiti Treat, which I've never seen before. I loved Tahiti Treat as a kid! The store is fairly large. It was nearly organized and clean looking. I liked how the aisles are named after local streets or areas (in addition to having a number). We got a bottle of the pineapple coconut Artizen Kombucha ($3.99). The cashier was courteous and efficient. Note they have no self checkout kiosks here. Lots of free parking in their private lot in front of the store. Review #44 (2025)

Easy access off Highway 43 at the 416 exit. An observation: store managers should be able to post exact operating hours during holidays. Both mobile app and website had regular hours posted not the reduced hours for New Year's Day. Inasmuch as we drove 12 km from Oxford Mills, it was disappointing to arrive and discover the store had closed. Had the reduced hours been posted on the app and website, we would have adjusted our visit.

K & J were incredibly accommodating and took special care to be sure that there was no cross contamination because my niece and nephews all have FPIES. Here is a breakdown of what we ordered and feedback: Fruit and veggie platters = fantastic! Fresh cut and large portions on both trays as well as dips for each. Charcuterie tray = good! I would suggest ordering a larger tray instead of the smaller one because there were lots of dips but not quite enough meat, cheese and crackers for the small one. Food and mix of food on the tray was fantastic! Sandwich platter = Excellent! I didn't know that a chicken sandwich could be that good! Presentation was beautiful and food was excellent. I highly recommend Kat & Jordy's and will 100% use them again for catering and will order for a night that I don't want to cook.
