They incorporated the entire family. Sister walked in with elegance. Father Daughter dance was simple and graceful. (The Choreographer was aware of Father's recent spine surgery) A sweet surprise Mother Daughter Dance (My daughter wanted and Shafik made it happen) Meaningful Waltz put together they helped "A Million Dreams" come true. Surprise Dance: it was SHOW TIME for the court of honor soon as those curtains came opened. Hostesses: Made sure I had nothing to worry about. They made sure people where seated for reception, helped me get the Court of Honor ready (surprise dance). Before event they were aware of our type 1 princess and ensured she was provided the correct drink for toast. The Choreographers were very attentive during practices. I would post videos but it wouldn't do justice to the teams craft. It's not just a dance or a couple of songs a family or children dance too. They put on an entire production. I truly recommend you hire them! Trust me I looked into plenty before getting S&S and it was the right choice. You will have no regrets.

I hired Shafik to choreograph my daughter's waltz for her quinceanera. The dance itself wasn't the issue, Andy was assigned to be their choreographer and he did good with the kids. I booked a mariachi band and DJ with Shafik and that was the worse mistake made. To start there was no choreographer when it was time to start the waltz. In the beginning of the party some lady came in to confirm with me the songs, timings, and the family members who were going to dance with my daughter. Everything on her sheet was correct so I signed and she disappeared after. When it was time for my daughters waltz the DJ played the wrong songs during their dance, when the kids were done with a song and the music kept playing. When it was time for my daughter to dance with our family members the DJ invited everyone else who wanted to dance with her which made the waltz even longer (something I didn't agree too). When I booked the DJ with Shafik I asked if the DJ would have several DJ lights and he said yes. When I got to the venue the DJ only had two speakers and two lights, one on each side. I messaged Shafik the following day letting him know about the issues along with video showing him and he never even apologize. I hired Shafik because he was recommended by a friend who used him to choreograph her daughters quinceañeras. If I would of know this was the kind of service he provided I would have saved myself so much money and not booked with him.

It seems most dance teachers have to fit in lessons at the end of a very busy day of other jobs and studios. But they come refreshed and give consistent, fun energy every time. Classes are fun. Intermediate goes quick. It's not Beginner+ like at some studios where it gets watered down. I appreciate that. My first time I left after 5 minutes. Months later I tried again and made it 15 before I could no longer keep up. It gives you something to work up to. Even after probably 40+ beginner classes, I had to really focus in an intermediate class. The general classes can be crowded and lopsided with way more guys. But they can control that. However, Master classes are smaller and they only take a matched quantity of leads and follows so less sitting out rotations. For some reason even when we started with a matched quantity the guys tended to come more consistently (pressure is on us to learn it!) The rotation break can be helpful when it does happen so you can walk yourself through it alone. I've taken lessons from probably 60 other dance pros in another type of dance and Nicole and Demetrio are the best. I switched dances because Steven's Steakhouse was close to home and they just made it fun. I genuinely missed it when I couldn't go so decided to stick with it.

Before the classes I felt like I only danced awkwardly and never got my body to move right. I felt immediate confidence even trying some of their tutorials on YouTube because they address common things that people tend to do that would make the moves look awkward. The first class I took with them was free using the Yelp check in offer. The class usually begins with a warm up of the basic steps where the whole class faces the instructors. After, the class pairs off with a lead and a follow but are expected to rotate partners so that everyone can learn with someone else. Some students are more experienced than others and some have their own swag which makes things super fun. Each time we rotate we build on the routine for the session. Demetrio and Nicole make it a point to make sure the leads don't do things that violate the follows and the students I encountered were respectful and friendly. I had also took their beginner Masterclass which was very helpful and interesting. Each class provided insight and focused on helping us build a foundation to be able to gain confidence to better dance socially. As a follow, Nicole would teach us how to style our moves which I thought was great because she would show us examples how best to achieve the style and also warn us what may look awkward. They never single us out but rather just guide the class as a whole unless the individual had a question. Lastly, Demetrio and Nicole specifically have a flow and routine that is generally easier to follow than the guest instructors. I felt even though some guest instructors had some fun music they were way harder to follow which made the classes less enjoyable. I have recommended many of my friends to check them out.

In my opinion, it's rare to find an instructor who is flexible enough to teach many subjects in multiple ways. She has a really great eye for diagnosing a problem and offering multiple solutions. She meets us where we are, gives great feedback, and remains positive. In addition, she will give you great tips and homework to consider. She's pretty flexible with scheduling, but can be busy at times given her professional career. We highly recommend her to anyone and everyone. Just don't try to take our weekly spot with her, thanks!

When I started to look into dance lessons in earnest, I really was looking for a teacher who created a safe, comfortable learning environment to go at my own pace. Maria is that teacher! I've enjoyed my lessons with her because she is patient, she explains things well, and she normalizes the ups and downs that come with learning something new. She was able to get me to a point to be able to join one of her group classes, which has been a fun experience too. That's not something I could have imagined myself doing even like a year or two ago, but Maria helped make that possible. I'm so glad I found her!
