Truly one of the most welcoming studios I've ever been to as well - it's the fastest I've made new dance friends at a studio before and the staff is so nice. They film the end of every class which is great, and sometimes they'll even bring in professional videographers for certain classes or pop ups. I typically go to Jingle's jazz funk and heels classes but have branched out recently to Kpop and other instructors and have always had a good experience.

I signed up online via a link from their Instagram and the website was pretty user friendly and I was able to get registered for the class I wanted. No sweat. Looking for parking can be tough as it's street parking only, so I came a bit early to ensure I was able to get a spot. Walking in, the interior was pretty cozy and it was smaller compared to other studios I've been to in LA, but not a bad thing at all! The person working the front greeted me and I told her it was my first time so she gave me a rundown of how the studio works. I appreciate the great customer service! They have a full front mirror, cubbies to store your belongings, a clean bathroom, and an ipad up front to sign in. The class was comfortable since there were people of different dance levels so it's not intimidating. I also liked that it wasn't crowded. The classes usually last for 1 hour and 30 min. I would definitely take a class here again in the future.

I…read morealways wanted to pick up dance again as an adult, but I was having a hard time finding a class I could keep up with as someone who hadn't been dancing for a long time. A little over a year ago, I saw that WLAD offers adult tap classes (a rare find!), I thought I'd give it a go, and I'm so grateful for the community I've found here! While WLAD is traditionally a studio for kids, I love that they offer tap, jazz, hip-hop, and ballet exclusively for adults, and in a completely non-judgmental environment (Heavy on the non-judgmental - EVERYONE is welcome, even if you're a total novice!). If you're even considering trying it out, I highly encourage you to come tap with us. I've been coming to Kistina's weekly class for over a year now, and I'm so happy to have dance back in my life!

I love the adult tap with Ms. Kistina! I started last year as a complete novice and look forward to my time there every week! Can't wait to try out some more classes, once the craziness of the holidays is past us.

She created an intimate, calming atmosphere that began with a guided meditation, setting the perfect tone for the evening. The small class size made it personal and comfortable, allowing everyone to dive right into the creative process without pressure or judgment. Elina's warm, kind energy as a host made the experience exceptional. Surrounded by blankets and pillows, we could disconnect from the outside world and fully immerse ourselves in painting, which felt like a therapeutic journey. The soft music and Elina's gentle guidance added to the ambiance, making it easy to express ourselves freely. At the end of the night, I took home my artwork and a beautiful bracelet she gifted us, making the experience even more special. I highly recommend this to anyone seeking a creative and soulful way to unwind and connect with their inner child! Ms. Emily has the biggest heart and is a complete natural at interacting with children so young. At the beginning of the session, when my daughter had just turned 2, she had a lot of trouble focusing on her teacher and following instructions - which I learned is completely okay. Over time, her ability to focus improved and she would look forward to her ballet and tap class every weekend. Her favorite part was when Ms. Emily would give a sticker or glitter at the end of class. I loved watching how happy she was in class and how much she talked about it afterwards. Sadly, due to the COVID situation, the studio has been closed for the last two months and our routine has been disrupted. We're really hopeful that the situation improves in Los Angeles and we can find a way to have the class back in a safe way. We can't wait to be back! P.S. Funny story.. I was SO excited to put my (then) 2 year old in a mommy & me ballet class that I read the class instructions very carefully... the dress code was fairly specific (a certain color leotard, tights, ballet slippers etc). So I thought the moms were supposed to dress up just like their daughters. First class ever, I showed up in full leotard and tights to dance with my girl! After that, I realized the moms come in regular clothes so I was careful to dress appropriately from then on. Just a tip for other moms enrolling in the mommy & me class!

I love that tjey expanded not only in size but also the types of dance offered. My favorites are their heels classes. Admittedly some of the beginners classes don't feel like beginners because many people already know the moves lol Every class I've attend, the instructor had great energy, broke down the moves easily, was open to questions, and made you feel confident! If you're new to the Playground here are some tips: - come early to find parking. Yes there's limited meter parking, but there are streets that let you park from 8-8pm without a permit for 2 hours - bring water you will sweat! - you can walk in with a bag of your clothes and additional shoes since they have dressing rooms - come with a friend if you're shy and so they can record you if you want - make sure your phone is charged so you can ask someone to record what you learned - remind yourself that you're here to have fun! You can get in your head when so many around you are so good and comfortable. Often with teachers of this caliber and training, you find a competitive and cold culture which doesn't work for my daughter or for me. The Floor couldn't be further from this. The Studio Director must place high importance on cultural fit because every single person we've worked with here is top-notch - helpful, attentive and just a good human. The Floor is a wonderful place - it honestly feels like family. My daughter loves it here so much that she's taking 3 classes a week. Even teachers who have never taught her know her by name, and they know me too! It's just that kind of place. I can't recommend it highly enough.
