Much of the cheap looking/previously frozen chicken is filled with water leaking from the "previously frozen chicken" . Chicken soaked in bloody fluid leaking all over the packages. You would have to be insane to buy red meat or steak from here as well. Low quality and poorly packaged. The dry stock is hard to mess up so I will give them a pass here. Minus each aisle always ALWAYS having staff ( kids ) on ladders with carts blocking the aisle, many of the boxes are left on the shelves after stocking as well. One till is all you will ever see open. I have never seen more than one open. The self checkout is what it is, although the staff have to bring you bags ( I guess they do not trust us to pay for them.....) .Note the bags are now done as of this week . So the self checkout is hardly viable anymore. Some of the staff seem alright, I note some serious attitude from a few of the young female cashiers, pretty standard to deal with that type of attitude these days so no suprise there either. I would rather go hungry than shop here, today I walked out in disgust and will never ever return. Sobeys isn't much better. Be a champ and drive to a real grocery store in St. Albert. Save on/Safeway. You get what you pay for.

So much fun! This place is for treasure hunters who don't mind sifting through used items in bins…read more If you love the thrill of the hunt, this place is for you! You definitely need time to kill and openness to see something you might like. My parents and I have been here a few times. At first my mom was skeptical but now she gets excited to go. We've gotten a variety of clothes, toys, stationary, and household items. With some persistence and luck, you can find some pretty awesome brand names. I've seen brands like Nike, Adidas, Bench, Helly Hansen, North Face, Victoria Secret, Zara, True Religion, as well as brands from Aritzia and Anthropologie. I've also found some great Paw Patrol, Fisher Price, Leap Frog and Disney toys here. Items vary in condition from like new to very worn out. In general I have found most of the items to be visibly clean and without any bad odors. The other thrifters can get quite focused and somewhat aggressive when it comes to being first to pick from the newly stocked bins. The staff roll the bins in from the stockroom and into these allotted "parking"' spaces in the main room. You can gather around the newly brought in bins but the staff will indicate when you are able to dig into the items. Until you hear the go ahead, you are definitely not allowed to touch. After the initial rush, most shoppers abandon the bins and you are free to go through the bins at your leisure. You learn quickly where the new bins are coming in. It's pretty obvious when you see a group of people gathered around an empty space or full bin ready to pounce. They have large metal shopping carts but you are to leave these at the perimeter of the store. You are not allowed to bring these alongside of the bins. It makes me nervous to leave my treasures unattended on the sides of the store. They also have smaller black plastic shopping baskets on wheels which you can bring with you to the bins. This is definitely a unique thrift shopping experience. I joke it's like one step above dumpster diving. It's also a lot cheaper than going to a regular Goodwill store. When it's time to pay you roll your cart over this scale that's built into the floor. You pay by the pound. The cashier will then tell you what you owe. Don't get nervous because it's really cheap. I've paid $17-$22 for an overflowing basket of items. You can definitely get a big bang for your buck if you know what to get. I recommend bringing a garbage bag or large reusable bag to carry your purchased items home.

I was greeted right as I was coming in the door and enjoyed a brief discussion with the owner about the weather and the Fringe festival before scoping out the items he has for sale. The store is absolutely brimming with the most beautiful art, gift ware, and jewelry all of which is created by fellow Canadians. I picked out a gorgeous pair of really detailed seahorse earrings made in Victoria for $29.00. Admittedly the prices are a bit high on certain things but if your concerned with getting quality goods as well as shopping locally from a store that really values your business I think it is worth it here. I will definitely be back and if you make alot of trips to our downtown core I sincerely hope you will pay Made In Canada a visit as well.

I wanted to…read moredonate to a Women's Shelter or to Ukrainian refugees but I didn't have what they wanted/needed. You see, my mother liked to collect pretty things, and my family doesn't have the space for all her salt and pepper shakers, Christmas decorations, eagles, owls, wolves, chefs, dishes, etc., etc. But I didn't want to just shove them off to just anywhere. I wanted it to mean something. Thankfully, I can do that here. I came to the MCC on the recommendation of a friend who volunteers with the Yeg Water Warriors. She told me that MCC helps YWW as many other organizations in the community and beyond. I Googled them and found that it was even better than I'd been told. I can breathe a sigh of relief that the sale of my mother's beautiful things will go to good causes, as she would have wanted. Staff was excellent and helpful. We checked the store out before we left, and found it to be clean and organized. We bought candles and a jacket. I'm going to be back after I declutter my house to bring them more, because I support what they do. I think I'll buy some of that coffee too. Thanks everyone at MCC for making me feel better about giving away my Mom's beautiful, but space consuming things.
