I had a nightmare dentist as a kid who eventually lost his license due to drugs, which left me with a massive phobia. Combined with losing some teeth over the years to skateboarding and fighting (and losing), plus spending the last 15 years entirely focused on taking care of my mom, I completely put off dental care. I stopped smiling with my teeth showing and hated talking to people because I felt like I looked like a monster. I didn't even know if I'd prefer a male or female doctor.Taking a chance on Dr. Marissa Burkholder was the best roll of the dice I've ever made. From day one, the front desk staff greeted me with zero anxiety, and they actually remembered me by name at every single appointment.Dr. Burkholder and Michelle (who has been absolutely wonderful at keeping me calm) are phenomenal. I had never had a female dentist before, but it was hands-down the right choice. Both of them are young, beautiful, highly professional, and have a killer sense of humor. They actually listened to my concerns, remembered the details of my personal history, and drafted a clear, step-by-step plan from start to finish so I always knew what was happening. involved very little pain or discomfort, and they made sure I had the necessary prescription medication to manage the healing. If you are procrastinating like I did, don't follow in my footsteps. I wish I hadn't waited 15 years, but I'm trying not to live with regret. My confidence isn't 100% back overnight, and honestly, having a full mouth of teeth right now feels like a weird traffic jam that makes me a little claustrophobic. Eating is a completely different ballgame now with a lot of new chewing limitations while I adapt, but I can speak with zero issues and I am no longer hiding my mouth. I am incredibly lucky that I took a leap of faith on this practice and wasn't wrong. I have zero fear of the dentist anymore, and I actually look forward to going back, seeing them smile, and trading jokes to keep the morale high. Their pricing is completely fair and normal for routine work, and everything is settled with no surprise future repair costs hanging over me. If you are terrified or embarrassed about your teeth, go see Dr. Burkholder and Michelle. They will change your life without judging your past. I chose clermont dentistry because I read no suspect or fictitious reviews and everybody had positive experiences. Thats why I am leaving this one. Thank CD.

Wow! If you have dental anxiety DO NOT go here. I started with this practice three years ago when…read moreI moved her from Washington state. I told Dr. Adele on first visit about my extreme anxiety when having procedures. She and staff assured me that they would always "take care of me" when I needed procedures. I had loved the staff and dentist here as they made me feel very comfortable. Fast forward to a month ago when, for the first time, I had a cracked tooth that needed to be repaired. At first I spoke with the doctor and the hygienist, I indicated that I would need some type of medication to reduce my anxiety during the procedure. Dr. Adele offered me "in house sedation " as well as nitrous oxide " to reduce my anxiety prior to the procedure." I told her that I would gladly have a prescription for my procedure so that I could complete the treatment as I had numerous times at my dentist in Washington. I was given a cost estimate for the procedure. It included a charge of $500 for "in house sedation!" I asked the hygienist what this was. She told me it was a high dosage of Valium! $500! I told her that I wouldn't pay for that "in house" and that I would request the prescription for me to take prior to the procedure. She agreed to take it off of my bill. I thought that the dentist would then prescribe me a sedative to take the morning of my appointment, as many of my past dentists had done. I even called 10 days prior to my appointment and was THEN told "she (dentist ) didn't write prescriptions in advance for treatments"! What?? So much confusion! I tried to explain my past communication and was shut down. So I accepted that I would have to endure the procedure with only the "nitrous oxide". As I had gotten used to this office I wanted to try to go through with the procedure, even though I was extremely nervous. The day before the appointment I received a call from the practice saying that they wanted my pharmacy info?? They told me that they were informed to get my pharmacy so they could send a"high dose prescription for Valium" so THEY could pick it up and give it to me the morning of my procedure!! For $500! I told them that ALL of my dentists in Washington had called in a prescription so that I could pick it up and go thru my insurance so I could take it the morning of the appointment and I paid $12 for that Rx!!!!! The office staff then told me that would only charge me $250 for the Rx as I had a problem with the charge!!! What kind of scam is this??? $500 for a $12 pill? Then reduced to $250 when I questioned it?? This is not a practice that focuses on their patients! How much profit do they think is ok????? As I spoke with the office manager, Stephanie, she said that this was in fact the office procedure. I immediately cancelled my appointment and told them that I was seeking another dentist office who cared more about their patients and didn't try to scam them out of $500! It was not just about not prescribing something for my anxiety. It was largely about the COST they imposed on "taking care of their patients ". Shame on you Dr. Adele. Do better.

I have to say there were not many, but then I found Lasting Smiles Dental Care. I figured I would give it a try since I was in a lot of pain on my lower left molar. I made my anxiety problems very well known and no one judged me or looked at me in a bad way. I have to say that from start to end I was very pleased with the service I received. I wish I would have found them sooner. I had to get my molar extracted and I was in a panic. The assistant was caring (made me feel safe) and the doctor was gentle every step of the way. I didn't feel a thing. He injected novacaine and I felt nothing. Before pulling my teeth he tested the area, I felt a little bit of pain and he put numb it some more. I felt nothing. The molar was out before I knew it. AMAZING!! I am not one to write reviews, but I had to let everyone know that I was going back and forth about taking a valium or nitrous and I didn't need either. I would highly recommend this dentist to all my friends. I even got an appointment for my son because he will be a patient as well. He was also honest and not trying to take my money and their prices are super reasonable. I went to another dentist in Clermont and they weren't honest and were trying to upcharge everything. Dr. Haidar was upfront and when I told him some of the things that they wanted to do to me at the other dentist, he told me there was no need, he'd just be taking my money if he did the procedure. That's what I want, upfront information and honesty. You will not be disappointed with Dr. Haidar and his staff.

They asked when my last cleaning was, and I told them it had been about eight months ago and that everything was fine. They also asked if I had any concerns, and I said no--I just needed a regular cleaning. They started by taking X-rays and performing other exams. At the end, they told me I needed to replace two fillings and get a deep cleaning. At no point have those fillings caused me any pain or discomfort. They then handed me a treatment plan divided into two phases. The first phase was a deep cleaning for $216, and the second phase was replacing the two fillings for $890. I told them I would at least like to have a regular cleaning, but they said they couldn't do that and that I had to get the deep cleaning instead. I ended up leaving without having anything done. It also felt like they were annoyed when they asked if I wanted to schedule appointments for both phases and I said no. The whole experience felt like a scam, as if they were just trying to get more money out of me. I'm very upset because now I have to wait until next year to find a different dental insurance plan so I can get my cleaning done by another dentist. I would not recommend this place at all.
