Old City Masonry - Amazing work guys

Old City Masonry

Promised to do a great job cutting out block with his "$30,000" cutting tool…read more Douglas Detrick, his partner Thomas Beaumarchais and his crew made a mess. I explained to them that the vents for flooding were installed too low. And I wanted them higher. Doug said he had this great cutting tool which would slice through the concrete block. And drop it down where the vents had been and then put in the replacement $215 flood vent when I was able to afford them. I need for vents so that's $800 plus and labor. He had a couple of hours free and he pushed to make this job attractive to me. Lowering the price. Paying cash. Etc... I have seen the work that he did in the neighborhood so if he said that they could do it I was willing to trust him. WHAT A MESS. Unbelievable mess. They cut out block so much wider then the actual block or vent 8 x 16 area, I have no idea how I am going to fix it. They left morter all over the grass telling me it was biodegradable. Huh? If that is what they used for the new block and it is biodegradable the block would never be solid and hold. They did a very messy job. I made them clean up the garage and the mortar. But now he won't come back and put in the flood vents. He is too busy. His partner Tom was supposed to call me never did. Douglas is ghosting my once a day calls. Not calling every hour. He is my neighbor. He is a liar. And I kept his crew hydrated with water and gatorade. No one else is that nice to workers. They did some other stuff like putting in new material between the driveway expansions. Except the material kept falling apart because it had been sitting too long and dried out. Seriously costs $3.50 at Home Depot. Acted like him giving it to me was a big favor. Told me it would last 15 years. Oy, it was the same as what they where replacing only lasts at max five years.
