Unfortunately, the decline in customer service and communication I have experienced recently has reached a point where I feel I need to share my experience. During my last three scheduled appointments, wait times have exceeded an hour. I have also witnessed front-desk interactions with other customers that I considered extremely unprofessional. The final straw was Kozmo's scheduled neuter, which also involved removal of a retained testicle. We were told he would be ready around 4:00-4:30 p.m. My husband arrived around 4:00 and was told he was not ready. Because my husband had to work, I ultimately had to drive approximately two hours back from Fort Myers to make it to the clinic before closing. I arrived around 6:45 p.m. Unfortunately, both my husband's interaction with the front desk and my interaction when I arrived were unpleasant. I recorded my conversation, so I have an accurate record of what was said. What concerns me most, however, happened when Kozmo was discharged. I was handed my dog and his medications and sent home. I received no written postoperative instructions and no meaningful verbal explanation of how to care for him after surgery. There was no discussion with me about his incision, activity restrictions, feeding after anesthesia, signs of complications, follow-up care, or what to do if something went wrong. The only postoperative information I was given was that he did not need a cone. This wasn't simply an office visit. My dog had undergone anesthesia, neutering, and removal of a retained testicle. Whatever frustration existed between the front desk and us should never interfere with communicating the information an owner needs to safely care for an animal following surgery. After more than 20 years of my family trusting this practice, I am incredibly disappointed that this is where our experience has ended up. I will be attempting a second time to contact Dr. Griffin directly regarding my concerns and requested Kozmo's complete surgical records and postoperative instructions. I sincerely hope the practice takes the opportunity to address both its front-desk customer service and its discharge procedures for surgical patients.

5 stars -- absolutely exceptional care…read more After an extremely frustrating experience with another veterinary office earlier this week, we brought our husky, Kozmo, to Saunders Veterinary Services because his surgical incision was draining blood and fluid along with knot by his incision. The difference in care was immediate. They were able to see him within an hour of us calling and took him right back. The front desk staff was friendly, professional, and genuinely pleasant to deal with. They were fully staffed, organized, and at no point did we feel like we were inconveniencing anyone by being there. The veterinarian was incredible. She was patient and compassionate and actually got down on the floor with Kozmo to examine him where he was comfortable. She thoroughly evaluated his incision, ran bloodwork, answered our questions, and confirmed that he had developed an infection. She made sure we left with antibiotics, appropriate pain management, medication to help keep him calm while he heals, and--just as importantly--clear information about what was happening and how to care for him. After the experience we'd had earlier in the week, I cannot adequately explain how much we appreciated simply being listened to and having our concerns taken seriously. This is what veterinary medicine and customer service should look like. They didn't just treat Kozmo's infection; they treated him with patience and kindness and treated us with respect. We came in worried about our dog and left feeling like he was finally in good hands. I would absolutely recommend Saunders Veterinary Services. They earned every one of these five stars.

I paid $86.00 for the castration of my 1.5 year old kitten. After the castration, my kitten refused…read moreany kind of food or water for 11 days. After 11 days, I went to the clinic where the kitten was taken by someone and I was left in the waiting room. After about 1-2 hours, a man who did not introduce himself told me by phone that he would consult the kitten after I paid a certain amount of money. I told the man that the fault for the kitten's behavior was those who performed the castration, which led to the kitten's refusal to eat, and therefore it was their obligation to consult him and prescribe what was necessary. They refused to take responsibility, so for the sake of the kitten, I paid the cashier $135.00 after which someone brought the kitten to my waiting room. I should mention that the doctor did not invite me into his office to have a live discussion and in fact I do not know what kind of consultation or treatment they have established for the kitten. The fact is that when I returned home the kitten did not show any signs of improvement, which leads me to the conclusion that this kitten was only used to take $221.00 from my money.
