​We went to Helix High School to see a Young Actors Theater (YAT) production of Frozen, and it was an amazing show! Highly recommend supporting YAT! Tickets are available to the last two shows this weekend (25-26Jul)- go purchase asap! ​My daughter loves the movie, so I've seen it well over 100 times--plus the Broadway production! Since we love musical performances, we knew the moment we ran into YAT at the YMCA health fair that we were definitely going to attend. ​The kids did such a wonderful job! The singing, dancing, and acting were incredible...I was honestly amazed at the sheer amount of talent on stage. During a few songs, I actually shed tears of pure happiness. It was also so cool that they did a meet/greet afterwards. My daughter ran right up to young Anna and hugged her. A huge thank you to the actress for showing my daughter so much love and taking a picture with her--she was so happy! ​The venue had a decent sized foyer that comfortably accommodated concessions, raffle display tables, and a crowd of roughly 100 people (maybe more). I loved seeing all the themed snacks, stickers, gift baskets, and souvenirs. Prices to support the theater were very reasonable, and using Venmo for payment was super easy. ​I 100% recommend following YAT for upcoming show dates! It is the perfect way to support the local community and enjoy a fun family night out:) read more

My 9 year-old son attended the Holiday Camp during winter break and absolutely loved it. He has always shown a passion for singing so I was looking for an organization that might give him some practice and experience in this area. I walked past this store front in Grossmont Center and immediately registered him as soon as I got home. The price for the four-day camp is very reasonable, considering the cost of regular childcare and that the kids are there from 9AM-4PM. My son always ended the day enthusiastic about what he had learned, and excited to come back the next day. The showcase they put on at the end of the week for family and friends is impressive, especially since they only have a short period of time to teach both songs and choreography. My son's solo brought proud tears to my eyes! He said he can't wait to come back for the next one in the spring. read more

We have seen many shows done by this theater and my daughter has been in a few. I am so impressed by the talent of the young performers. My daughter made lots of friends and gained confidence. She has "aged out", but we still go see every show. It is a great way to introduce young kids to the arts. read more

The kiddos do an amazing job in a small theater. The best part is I have never met a nicer bunch of kids in my life.

My family (wife, 6yo boy, 3yo girl) have seen The Little Mermaid and SpongeBob SquarePants here and both times we had the best experience. The performances were excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole experience kept BOTH of our children engaged the entire time. We can't wait to go again! read more

How fun was this! My niece was in a play and I did not have high expectations. Young Actors Theater does an amazing job. The entire show was first rate. These are young actors 2nd grade to high school . And the entire show was well done. Compliments to every person behind the scenes. The show was outstanding. The actors were outstanding. Lights, music, props, everything was in order. This was very surprising and I was blown away by the professionalism. Our performance was High School Musical and it was very entertaining. Check with YAT for current times and shows. The show had an intermission where they had sodas and snacks for sale. Water is allowed inside. No video taping or photos during the play. read more

I took my kids and their cousins (ages 7 to 13) to see Little Shop of Horrors last night. We all LOVED it. The cast was great and we were so impressed with the stage and props. My 7 year old daughter was blown away by the whole production, as much as us adults! We can't wait to see Mulan Jr.! read more

The past 6 months participating with this theatre group has been such a wonderful experience. My family has expanded our knowledge and gained so much from their artistic teams during the past 3 productions. The classes offered are top notch. Organized aspects of this group are impressive to say the least. We have been with other educational theatre groups for the past 10 years and they have helped to shape my young actors and we appreciate that so much. I originally resisted adding this group to our learning/working efforts because of the long drive in traffic, however, I must say that it has been more than worth it. I highly recommend this company to anyone who has a child who enjoys performance or who just wants to help them gain confidence, poise, coordination, vocal skills, and develop great friendships. My daughter was interested in their Aladdin show last fall. She did not know anyone at YAT. She went to the audition, got a part in the play, and became fast friends with everyone in the cast. Everyone at YAT , from the board members to the parents and children, welcomed her (and me) with open arms! We have been very impressed with the directors and choreographers at YAT. My daughter is completing her third show with YAT today and I can honestly say that she has grown as a performer. They have given her opportunities to really challenge herself. YAT offers a good environment where I feel my daughter is safe. I'm happy that she is surrounded by like minded, respectful children. YES we highly recommend YAT. Your child doesn't have to be experienced on stage. This is a great place to gain experience and grow! read more

Young Actors Theatre is a great place to send your children to learn about a working theatre. They produce several productions a year and we have enjoyed seeing most of them for the past 10 years. I highly recommend this youth theatre Company. read more

YAT is an amazing experience for kids! They put on terrific large-scale productions at great venues every summer (The Music Man this year and Les Miz last year) with smaller but still very impressive shows during the rest of the year that are a lot of fun to watch. The best thing is that from the top down everyone is really positive and they encourage rather than belittle the kids - sadly that is not what I have always experienced with other theatre groups. My kids only started performing in YAT shows last year but they have made so many friends and they love doing the shows so I think there will be a lot more YAT shows in their future! read more
