Uptown Hounds

Uptown Hounds

I take my dog to Uptown for both grooming and boarding. It is on the pricier side, but that is…read moretotally worth it for the peace of mind I have while he is staying there. The staff are so kind and flexible with travel changes (if you need to pick up earlier or stay an extra night) which is really helpful when flying. They have a great pre-check feature where you can give a lot of detail on your dog's stay. I typically send toys that I don't mind losing just as a precaution, but they've never lost anything I've sent with my dog and everything comes back neatly packed in his bag. I don't worry about my baby at all while he is at Uptown.

My dog immediately choked up kibble, and within about 30 minutes of getting him back to my hotel, I had to request input from my vet back home and immediately take him to the ER Vet where he had to spend the next almost two days. He had aspiration pneumonia. They of course denied the entire thing and when I went in to view the camera footage they had, they had a clip of the footage that was about 1:30 seconds long that had been cut to not show me going over to my dog where he has choked kibble up. I called immediately when I got to the hotel room, as I didn't want to react immediately due to the emotion involved. They of course have denied everything. I've stayed quiet about this incident for almost a year now because I honestly thought maybe they'd own up to their (maybe) mistake and do what was right and help cover what I had to pay for. I am active duty military and have to travel to Lexington frequently for clinical. I trusted this business with my furchildren and they failed. I just truly hope that next time this happens, the outcome isn't different. Had I waited until the next day to take my pup to the vet, he most likely would not have survived. Within hours he was on oxygen at the ER vet. I've been dealing with their insurance company since January and they will not be covering anything. This is honestly, the outcome that I expected, as both Uptown Hounds and The Hanover Group did not display much professionalism. The worst part is, they won't even refund me the amount of services that I paid for and will never receive for my dogs. I truly hope no one else has to deal with this situation.

I love knowing we don't have to worry about our pups when we are gone, communication from each visit is appreciated, and that they are in good hands. Highly recommend Critter Sitters of Lexington!

Zach has been with the company for years, and whenever we see his name on the schedule, we're thrilled because we know we're going to receive one of his wonderful updates. His visit summaries read like a story, and sometimes even a song. He is an exceptional pet sitter, and honestly, the entire team is fantastic. Knowing our cats are being loved and cared for by Critter Sitters gives us complete peace of mind whenever we're away. During our most recent trip, I added an outdoor cat to the schedule just a few days before we left. To their credit, they didn't hesitate. They simply added the extra cat, and the cost didn't even change. The service is incredibly affordable for everything they provide. It costs far less than boarding, which would be both expensive and stressful for our cats. They even send photos of our pets during each visit, which is such a comfort when we're away. Beyond caring for our cats, they also bring in our mail and put our trash out on collection day. It's those little extra touches that make such a difference. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Critter Sitters. They have cared for our pets for years, and at this point, they truly feel like family. I cannot recommend them highly enough. You simply can't go wrong with this company. They are outstanding.

Visited for the first time to use their self service bathing and was thrilled! Three nice large…read moretubs and drying/grooming stations. Shampoo, conditioner and any necessary grooming tools are all included for the incredible price of $15!! I plopped my little guy in the tub and was able to take my time washing and conditioning his hair. What a dream come true! They have industrial strength dryers and he dried in like 15 minutes - amazing. I used their brush and grooming scissors to trim a little of his hair off. Since my peanut is almost 14, he was having trouble standing so I couldn't do the full trim I was hoping to, but that's on us, not Pet Paws. They are providing an amazing self service option and I cannot recommend them enough to anyone needing a nice place to go to bathe their pup. I cannot wait to go back!! Pro tip - do not miss the delicious smelling finishing spray!! Heavenly scent!

I took my golden retriever to Pet Paws a few weekends ago for a dog wash after my roommate…read morerecommended it to me. Since it was my first time going, the owner Phyllis gave me the rundown: there are three self serve tubs with different shampoos and condtioners. The tubs are raised and have a hose, which is nice, so you can easily stand while you give your dog a bath. Pet Paws is $15-per-dog, the price isn't contingent on time- a good deal for bigger dogs, maybe not as much for smaller ones. They also have a dryer station with different brushes for after the wash. What I like about Pet Paws is the convenience- its nice to be able to wash your dog and not have to deal with the "clean up" afterward- cleaning up the tub and washing the towels- all that jazz. Definitely will be back to Pet Paws!
