Most places do not want to do just one item, but Uptown understands that if you're happy with one item, that you're coming back for future orders, and I will be back. If you're in need of screen printing, embroidery or any type of promo swag, with a reasonable turnaround (they also have an eye for design), don't hesitate. Well they used a completely different material and different letters than what I asked for and did not call me. When I brought it up Sharon she told me that that's how they do it and it doesn't look that bad. They do not care what customer wants and will do whatever they want instead of following the customers requests and absolutely will not take responsibility for their mistakes and will pin it on the customer. And to top it off I had to remove the original nameplate because they "don't do that". I can't even do a chargeback because I had to pay cash because they wanted me to write down my credit card info on a piece of scrap printer paper. They ruined a 250$ jersey, blamed it on me and told me there's nothing they can do. Totally unprofessional business that wasted my time and money.

It's a real community spot. The yarn selection ranges from standard go-tos like Berroco and Plymouth, to lovely stuff from Malabrigo and Juniper Moon Farm, to indie hand-dyes. The trend seems to be toward fashion colors and styles. I'm not exactly a fashionista myself, and I still find it easy to leave with creative choices. Historically an upholstery shop, we were advised that they expanded to fashion fabric about two years ago. They have a good selection of knit and woven fabrics at reasonable prices. They have ITY, spandex, rayon, Lycra, ponte, Liverpool-esque, super techno, lace, linen, wool blends and so much more. I'm a discount fabric shopper so my favorites were the large $2 section and the remnant bin next to the cutting table. The customer service was great. They also have a small parking lot so you don't have to worry about parking on the street.
