I had been going to Yost for years for my old Lexus. I remember they had to tow my car from the grocery store to their shop. The guy who was going to repair the key ignition, called me if I would like to get a used part instead of a new one and I totally agreed because the cost was much less than the new one. The mechanics were excellent at that time. However, something happened a few years ago as the people changed. Prices went up quickly and it made me feel the recent change of employees was the issue. The last time I went there, I had an oil leak - after the oil change. I told them about it, had to take it back and they said it was not an oil leak and all they had to do was tighten up the lid. However, when I took my car to another auto shop to clean the headlights, they found an oil leak. They fixed it and did it the right way. This particular incident made it clear to me that Yost had no intention of fixing my vehicle correctly. That made me very angry as I spent thousands of dollars in the past. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with this place. They acted like the stereotypical mechanics who try to scam you and are the reason people are scared to go to the mechanic. My brothers 04 accord has a minor head gasket leak which we are aware of and have just taken temporary measures to fix as the car is just a beater anyways. All my brother took the car in for was a coolant flush and refill (as this unfortunately needs to be done once every few months with the head gasket issue). When he took it in they pointed out that there was some sealant in the radiator, which we were aware of and that it could come out during the flush. Fine no problem just flush it and fill it up, can always add more sealant later. But nope, they decided to start hassling my brother (who doesn't know cars) and started to pull all the spark plugs and tell him how bad the head gasket was and that it wouldn't keep driving and he needed to shell $3,000 out ASAP to fix it. They then got in the car and cranked it WITH NO SPARK PLUGS, to try and trick him into thinking the car won't run anymore. This is the point my brother reached out to me and sent me a picture of the "4 things they removed from my engine". All of the plugs. I told him to Demand them to IMMEDIATELY put them back in and you are going to pay and leave. They THEN told him, that his car might start now but there is a 99% chance it doesn't start or run again afterwards, again trying to scare him. Sure enough they put the spark plugs back in and guess what, car started right up and ran fine. My brother pulled over turned the car off and it turned right back on fine, obviously. I would steer clear of this place by any means necessary ESPECIALLY if you don't know much about cars, as I bet they try to take advantage of people often. Again this place is extremely disappointing, unprofessional and practices poor ethical standards. I wish I didn't live so far or I'd love to go talk to the mechanics in person. Car deposited on May 7th, 2019 for repair of exhaust cam solenoid. Company diagnosed multiple issues with car and charged diagnostic fee when I chose not to have those issues repaired. The car worked fine but I wanted to remove the check engine light. When I picked up the car it was immediately noticeable that it was not functioning well. I attempted to resolve with the business multiple times including a desire for them to repair the issues they introduced and then when they refused. I had to go to another mechanic to resolve, they chose not to pay the fees of that resolution nor issue an apology. I am frustrated that a working vehicle was introduced to the shop and a basic test to determine functionality of the vehicle was not performed and followed up with lack of desire to remedy the situation. It went to the point that I filed a BBB complaint that they downright lied into and posted other customer's information along with "after the fact handwritten notes" in to corroborate their deceit. read more

Yost is incredible for many reasons, but the reasons they are top notch to me are as follows: 1. Ever discover a foul stench in your vehicle? Well Yost has the strongest stomachs to deal with even the most foul of stenches (in my case a turkey log). They stayed in contact providing me constant updates throughout the mess during the heat of the summer to resolve the stench. 2. They were able to squeeze in a friend of mine (who was driving cross country) to do a quick fix before they continued their journey. 3. Very unprofessional when it comes to communication! I called before I brought my truck up to clarify that they could get my brakes replaced before I left the state later in the evening. They reassured me they could. So I dropped my truck off just before lunch time, was told i would be receiving a call shortly after lunch to be informed of what was needed done. By 3:30 pm I had received no phone call from them. So I call and they tell me they're just getting to it and they will get back to be soon. At 5:00 just before they are about to close might I remind you, and they inform me that they will not be able to fix my brakes by this evening! So now I am having to leave the state with my brakes not up to par and will be forced to stop somewhere on the way to my destination, and have my brakes replaced tomorrow. Thanks YOST! I brought my older lexus here for a problem i had been having with the AC. I feel horrible but I can not remember the very nice woman working the front desk but, she was extremely pleasant to deal with and was always very helpful. The first time I brought the car in they were willing to stay late as I just couldn't get off work during their normal hours. Once there they give you a free soda if choose to wait. The diagnostic didn't take them to long to figure out, but they said I would have to wait as they needed to order the part from lexus. Once the part came in they gave me a call and I told them when I could bring the car back in. It only took them a few hours and when I arrived to pay the bill they had voluntarily given me a discount! The A/C works great now and I have no regrets about using Yost Auto. read more

I used Yost Auto many months ago for a car that had developed a vibration and uneven tire wear in the front end, I was 99% sure what the problem was and normally do most of my own auto work, but didn't have the time to deal with it and just dropped it off giving them the symptoms. They called back about an hour after it was dropped off with the verdict which was what I suspected, a bad tie rod, and that I needed two front tires which I agreed with as well because of the wear. Their price was reasonable; tie rod end, two new decent quality tires and an alignment for about $500 out the door and it was done in the early afternoon. I have used Yost for over a decade. If I bring it with what I think is a $500 repair and it's only a different $200 repair, that's what they fix and charge me. Too many other places would charge me foe unnecessary $500 repair and the $200 repair. I had a car transmission destroyed by another major repair shop, one of its shops is temporarily closed for bad customer service. I have a high degree of confidence in their integrity and don't ever feel like they are trying to "sell" me more service or maintenance than what is necessary. They do good work, get it done quickly and on time, and are excellent communicators. They always call me to confirm what I want done and tell me if they have observed anything else they recommend needs fixed. I also appreciate the many small details of their customer service.
