    Empanadas
    Jose Manuel C.

I saw their food truck at first Fridays: I would like to disclose that this is not a complete inference but a solid assessment. I say this because Peruvian food is known for ceviche. I ordered empanadas. The chicken one was good it had a hint of sweet but it was tasty. The beef one felt like butter. I gotta try their ceviche next time

Spotted their food stand on Sunday at the Presidio Tunnel Tops. We decided to go for the sirloin saltado. This dish consist of marinated sirloin steak strips stir fried with steak fries, YoSoySauce, red onions and tomatoes. The sirloin was cooked perfectly and everything tasted good. The downside to this dish was the portion was really small. For $17, I expected to get more food on the plate. Instead I got a small scoop of white rice, about 6 pieces of sirloin and a few pieces of the tomatoes, steak fries and red onions.

Tried the mushroom empanada & the fried tofu fries at Veg Fest and they were great! Decent price and portion size with lots of flavor!

The Causa is INCREDIBLE!!!!!! We had the chicken Causa and the ceviche Causa. We just returned from Peru, and this was our favorite dish in lima. We were so lucky to have this favorite dish of ours again here at Yo soy Ceviche. Nory had made this incredible dish and it is a must try dish. Thank you Nory for sharing this special treat with us. Sorry about our photos -- were so excited to eat the Causa, we forgot to take photos before we started eating. SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!! WE LOVED IT!!!!!

Visited the Yo Soy Ceviche truck at the Santa Clara County Fair today. Amazing ceviche as always! The fish and shrimp were super fresh and it was a mix of so many wonderful flavors. The portion was huge as well. Thanks for the yummy meal Yo Soy Ceviche!

I ordered the small cup ceviche at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and it was SO satisfying. I've been to Lima Peru and have had the privelege of tasting authentic ceviche. This was authentic as that. It was a very satifying lunch for only $10.

THE BEST CEVICHE! Absolutely loved everything I tried on the menu, flavor is excellent and the sauce -holy moly! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu but ceviche is a MUST and the fried rice was among my favorite too. Thanks Nory and her amazing team for delivering such incredible depth of flavor in every dish, I'm already craving them again lol!

    A little backstory

Ran into this food stand at the Emperor Norton's Holiday Bazaar. Despite having ceviche in its name, I couldn't resist getting the lomo saltado. See, it's my absolute favorite Peruvian dish (and probably even my favorite Latin American dish) so I always feel compelled to try it at new joints. The one here was quite good for a food stand. Granted, a fancy restaurant would probably use higher end cuts like tenderloin, but they'd also charge at least double the price charged here. Lomo Saltado: A very generous amount of beef! Large cubes griddled up fresh to order. Lightly browned on the outside and pink on the inside. A stronger sear would have been nicer, but it was enjoyable as is. The fries tasted homemade (instead of frozen store bought) and did a great job soaking up all the awesome soy-based sauce. There was enough tomato and red onion to complement the meat and potatoes, but not overwhelm. The rice was a bit too mushy, but I'm usually not big into the rice part of lomo salto, so no big deal.

Taro chips? $2 + House Ceviche $19 SFO food truck

Should've just walked away...Peruvian Ceviche out of a food truck, $21. Price definitely SFO airport price, but portion smaller than eating inside airport. The sauce is good though, (turmeric? Onion/cilantro...could be spicier). The fish which should be star of the show was so so (always better if you make ceviche yourself). Overall: okay. Worth $21 before tip? No (the packs of thawed tilapia we buy for the fur baby is less than 6.50 a pound at the wholesale warehouse).

Mushroom empanada on top of a chicken empanada

An overpriced and underwhelming food truck experience. Ordered 2 empanadas because the entrees cost more than $20 for small portions. The mushroom empanada's crust was soft, soggy and falling apart as soon as I opened the box. Inside was just diced and sauteed mushrooms, no sauce, but well seasoned. The chicken empanada had a proper crust that was buttery but also very sweet. Inside was just dry seasoned chicken.

If you want to eat authentic Peruvian ceviche you should try the house ceviche, and they have vegan options

    Delicious ceviches!

4.5 STARS Who stress…read moreeats? *RAISES BOTH HANDS* After a stressful morning, forget my lunch of baked chicken and a salad. Hello, Filipino food! Nothing says, comfort like a Filipino meal of carby and meaty goodness. Julsilog is a new Filipino eatery operating out of a ghost kitchen inside a Bayview hub that I regularly order delivery from. Takeout and delivery only. ***Grand Opening Promo via UberEats: $8 off your order*** ($30 minimum order) Per 3rd party delivery app, Julsilog is open until midnight on the weekdays and until 2 am on weekends. Perfect for the late night drunchies! M E N U Silogs: Filipino breakfast plates with garlic rice and a fried egg. Protein options: Pork chop, fried chicken, embutido (meatloaf), tapa (calamansi cured beef), tocino (cured sweet pork), spam, and Impossible burger. They also have lumpia shanghai, wings, fries, ube shake, and buko pandan dessert. Everything is under $12 so very wallet-friendly. I ordered via UberEats and my order took about an hour to be delivered. It arrived warm and properly sealed to prevent tampering. Each item was packed in a compostable container (except dessert) and labeled...including the sauces. Utensils were fully wrapped. I appreciate the attention to details. F O O D * Lumpia Shanghai (6 pc - $6) Can we take a moment to appreciate the presentation? Most lumpia shanghai are just thrown in a brown paper bag. You can't go wrong with this Filipino staple. The wrapper got a bit limp in transit but that's what a toaster oven/air-fryer/pan is for. * Tocilog: Sweet cured pork w/ garlic rice, egg, tomato-cucumber salad The tocino was rich, juicy, and moist with sweet-smoky caramelized edges. Not chewy or overly sweet like some tocino can be. GET THIS! Despite delivery, liquid gold flowed out and all over the rice when cutting into the fried egg. The garlic rice was ok...def needs more garlic because it tasted more like plain white rice to me. * Embosilog: Beef Meatloaf w/ garlic rice, egg, and cucumber tomato salad ($12.25) The embutido was delicious and stuffed with Filipino hot dog (pork) and boiled egg. For the silog, you get a choice of 2 sauces: banana ketchup, all purpose sauce (mang tomas), and/or garlic vinegar. I liked the garlic vinegar w/ red onions the best to balance all the savory richness. * Buko Pandan w/ coconut, pandan, sweet cream, jelly ($5) Nice sweet ending to a delicious meal. Lots of soft and chewy jelly and coconut. For those sensitive to MSG, I was quite thirsty afterwards so fair warning. Ghost kitchens can be a hit or miss so I was really impressed with Julsilog. Not only was the food delicious with generous portions, it was a great value and thoughtfully packed. If you're craving some Filipino comfort food, give this new business a try!

They were quite dry but the flavor made up for it. --Shredded Pork Skin (bì): A personal must for me, I love the chewy gelatinous texture. --Overeasy egg (trứng): Still had an oozy yolk, enuff said. --Broken rice (cơm tấm): Perfectly cooked with shorter grains soaking up the pork chop marinade, liquid gold, and scallion oil. Not sure why it's so hard to find this in the city. --Salad: Crisp iceberg lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, and pickled veggies. --Nước chấm: The fish dipping sauce was on-point, punchy and tangy with a funk. Not watered down. Yay for including a side of chili paste for heat. * Bún Bò Huế: Spicy Beef Noodle Soup w/ pork, ham, beef shank, pork blood ($16.95): https://tinyurl.com/5xnt7e78 --Broth: Arrived piping hot, the broth was bold, flavorful, citrusy, and spicy. Not msg-y. --Proteins: Tender thinly sliced pork + beef shank, chả lụa (ham), and two blood cubes (in the broth). There's a lot of noodles so it could have used more protein. --Noodles: Sadly, the thick rice noodles were overcooked, broken, and mushy. --Accompaniments/garnish: Shredded cabbage, mint, basil, and lemon. No banana blossoms. --Sa tế: The lemongrass chili oil packs a spicy punch so you can dial up the heat. Overall, I Do Phở You has their flavors down solid. I think if they can get their timing right for their pork chops and noodles, they'll be a solid fiver.

Can be a little slow though since they stagger the order taking and there's a little cooking backlog, but guess that's just a testament of how fresh-to-order everything is. Cajun Crunch Wrap Supreme w/ Vegan Lamb: I can't believe this is vegan! It tastes just like Crunchwrap Supreme from Taco Bell. Except maybe better thanks to the creamy sauces drizzled on top. Especially loved the crispy seared tortilla against the smoky ground "lamb". And it's very filling, like I went to lunch hungry and felt quite full after just this. Every single bite was full of such wonderful flavor. Korean "Beef" Bowl: Lion's Mane Mushrooms are used as the "Beef" and are packed with great marinade and umami flavor. Though the texture is still like cooked mushroom, so not as beefy as real beef or even fake meat and there's a general feeling that's there's little-to-no protein. The garlic noodles were so flavorful, definitely a ton of garlic. The thick udon-like shape was an interesting choice and worked well for a hearty chew. I liked that there was some grilled squash and red cabbage for veggie contrast, but not a huge portion so not to overwhelm the noodles. Everything together tasted great, though seemed a bit high in sodium.
