This review is specifically for the scheduling and reception part of the business…read more My doctor prescribed physical therapy for an injury. I was given the choice of two clinics so I chose Tower Physical Therapy because I had heard good things about them. I called right away to make an appointment. Unfortunately the first available appointment was more than a month away, but I understood that they were busy, and was willing to wait. On the day of my appointment I arrived early to check in since there are always forms to complete for the first visit. The receptionist at the front desk took my name and told me that I did not have an appointment. She asked if my name was a totally different name, to which I replied it was not. She asked who I spoke to when I made the appointment. I didn't write down the name of the receptionist as I assumed it wouldn't be a issue. She went to the back to talk to the available PTs and returned a few minutes later (while calling me the wrong name) to inform me that I had missed my appointment which was scheduled that day, but two hours earlier. I know that I would not have scheduled an earlier appointment due to the fact that I was at work at that time. I informed her that I was told a different time (the time I had put in my calendar) and had repeated it to the woman I spoke to when scheduling, to confirm. The receptionist just reiterated that my appointment was earlier that day. The receptionist did say they could possibly fit me in if I was willing to wait, which I agreed to do. I gave her my insurance card and started to complete the necessary paperwork. While I filled out the forms, she started calling a male's name. Since there were two males in the waiting area with me, I assumed she was calling for one of them. Nope. She was reading the name on my insurance card which happened to be my husband's name. I realized what was happening and took my card back. I told her that was my husband's name, not my name. She made a comment stating that I didn't respond when she called my husband's name. He was not there with me and that is not my name so no, I didn't believe she was calling for me. In the meantime, a second woman came to the desk and began the task of verifying my insurance. She called me back to the desk after a few minutes and informed me that they do not accept my insurance. I left feeling very frustrated. Looking back there was another red flag about the whole fiasco. Usually a patient receives a phone call from the office or clinic to confirm the appointment. No one called me the day before to confirm my appointment. Not even for the time they claimed my appointment was scheduled. Very odd. While I totally understand that we are all human and everyone makes mistakes or errors, what disappointed me the most was how the receptionist handled the situation. It is a shame because while I've heard good things about the therapy staff, I would not consider going back, all because of that receptionist.

From my very first visit, he was incredibly kind, thorough, and took the time to truly understand what was going on with my knee. He performed an arthroscopic meniscusectomy, and the entire experience went incredibly well. Thanks to his skill, I am already walking completely free of discomfort and am finally able to get back to my active lifestyle. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Beauchman's care, and his support staff is equally wonderful--always encouraging, helpful, and welcoming. If you want a surgeon who listens, gets the diagnosis right, and delivers amazing results, look no further. I am so incredibly grateful to the whole team!

At each visit he listens to my questions and concerns and he takes the time to explain what to expect (in simple, plain language) and options. I have never felt rushed and have the greatest confidence in his skills as a surgeon. The staff is not friendly or engaging. They do the bare minimum. The feeling I'm left with is that I'm an inconvenience; even the nurse acts like she can't wait to get out of the room. It's not uncommon to call and immediately be put on hold without any greeting or acknowledgment. And if a message is left, the call is NEVER returned in a timely manner if at all. Also the voice message says they're on the other line even if their office is closed. Case in point, I had a knee manipulation done on Thursday midday. We live 1 hour 10 minutes away. On the way home, post procedure, I got a text that my pain meds were being filled in Merced. I immediately called the office and was put on hold as mentioned earlier. Eventually someone did pick up (which in my experience isn't always the case) and I explained my situation; have left Merced already and on my way home. Asked if they could transfer the rx to the pharmacy closer to my home. Was told they would look into it and get back to me. 3 hours later there was no response and their office was closing in 30 mins for the day. I started calling and my calls kept going to voicemail. By 5 pm I thought I would try to manage the pain as best as I could and call the next day. Called on Friday and kept getting the voicemail so I called the surgical center only to learn that Dr B's office was closed Friday for Juneteenth. This meant no pain meds until Monday at the earliest. Not a good situation. So I left a voice message asking to speak to the office manager Monday morning. And yes, the voice message said they were on the other line with another patient even though they were closed for the day. Monday morning came and went; no returned call so I called again after their lunch break. Spoke to the office manager who at no time acknowledged or apologized for my experience but was informed that they had a lot of messages to go through. What I would like for an outcome so that other patients don't experience this is the following: 1. Staff go through customer service training. 2. All calls answered with some sort of salutation before being put on hold. 3. All calls on hold are monitored and someone checking in occasionally to let the caller know they're aware of the wait. 4. Messages are triaged with more time sensitive calls (aka recent procedure) getting top priority. 5. Any patient who's had a procedure in the last 24 hours gets a response same day as their call with a description of next steps. 6. Change out of office message when closed. Also be aware that the office uses air fresheners. So be prepared if you have an olfactory sensitivity. Needless to say, once I finish up my appointments for this current recovery I'll be changing offices. And I'm 100% confident that this office won't care.

He was very clear about the non-weight bearing restrictions & the time frame for those restrictions. It's amazing to see my scar, now three months after the surgery. Well life happens and I didn't get to run into Merced and have surgery that week. I had to wait until my life allowed for it. He had NO IDEA what my life has been like for the last year. He never even bothered to even ask. He said he never told me I needed surgery which is a bold faced lie! I was there at my appointment last year and I'm sure I remember it better than he does!!! It was MY appointment and he sees a lot of people besides me I'm sure. After berating me for waiting so long, he finally said I need a new MRI. That's all he had to say in the first place instead of belittling me in the office like he did!! He had me on the verge of tears. He was a complete and total ass!! I will NEVER go back to this doctor again and I don't recommend him to anyone unless of course you like to be treated by someone who talks over you, doesn't listen to you, and tells you that you don't know what you're talking about in a very condescending manner. His office assistant was very nice but that's not enough to make me ever see this doctor again.
