York's has very good food anytime of the day and you can get it from the drive thru. You cant go wrong with chicken on a stick. Try it.

Hidden gem alert. I…read morewas headed to Bham from St Louis and someone told me this place was famous for its legendary pork steak. Naturally, I drove a good bit out of my way to investigate this pork steak for myself. It is in fact legendary and you should go here for yourself if you're ever within range of this place. To start, it's in a very small town and the vibes are as down-home as it gets. It's got a solid menu of recognizable bbq options and plenty of seating to accommodate your group. It's clean and the people are as friendly as could be. Service was quick, prices were beyond reasonable. Now on to this pork steak. I, myself do not have a lot of experience with pork steaks so I'll do my best to describe what I had. It looks like a steak. It weights 2lbs. It's on the bone and fork-tender. The fat is rendered perfectly and when you go at this thing with a fork and knife, it basically falls apart into what you'd normally find on a pulled pork sandwich. It was smoked beautifully, it was flavorful and delicious. I'm never going to forget it. I understand why they're famous for it. Just amazing. The au gratin potatoes were excellent as well and I'd definitely order this plate and everything on it again. Long story short this is an out of the way, hole in the wall kind of place in a small town. If you're passing by on the nearest interstate, it's worth it to plan a little excursion to it just to take in the deliciousness that they're providing. 5 stars all around.

Ordered the pork steak, scalloped potatoes, and okra to go. I plated it when I got home and the…read morepork steak was so tender it fell apart with just a fork. Phenomenal pork steak. Highly recommend to anyone in the area or passing by, even if it's a little out of the way it's definitely worth the stop.

I'm in this part of the country in the Ozark mountains that I visit every year for about 15 years…read moreor so usually on a Monday for a few days and this place is never open. it's 17 years old. I did the end of the week this time and teds was open so I stopped by with high hopes. I ordered the rib dinner with two sides, potato salad and beans. As far as the sides go the potato salad was that good thick commercial with the crunchy bits of veggies in it, very thick and tight which I like. The baked beans were hard to tell because they weren't mush and the sauce was thick but not to sweet but it lacked any smokey flavor form the meats or smoker. The place is a walk up run down shack with a walk up window next to like weathered 50 year old picnic tables that are rotting away and falling apart. The ribs looked very dark, dry as F#%k burnt to a crisp. Yes they were dry/hard and the ends were not eatable so in the garbage they went. The sad part is that they had good flavor and if they were fresh/not old and dried out they would have been possibly very good. Old/hard/candied ribs are not very good but I'm off to Kansas City for a famous bbq place which I hope is better. I suppose if it's all you got and the other meats might be better in the middle of nowhere I might go back but I don't live there and I have better options.

By far the VERY BEST BBQ .Ribs were so tender my 18 month old daughter ate to the bone. Service was…read moreexcellent and the sauce is AMAZING.
