PC Friend is a computer and electricals store situated within the Crossgates Shopping Centre. I…read morenipped in there on my last visit for a brief look around, have a quick scan of their prices and such, and was fairly happy with what I saw. They seemed to have a few good deals on their computer accessories, with some fairly decent speaker sets at £50 roughly. The printer ink was really quite cheap, something of a godsend, since I know that it costs so much more in places like PC World and such. They had tons of things like keyboards, monitors, usb sticks and more - enough bits and bobs to satisfy any basic computer need. The chap in there became really friendly the more I browsed, asking twice if there was anything in particular that I wanted - to which I patiently responded both times "No thanks, just browsing." I know what it's like, having worked in sales, so I don't mind being asked. I stopped to browse over a mini laptop which retailed at £229, it was a PC which I don't really do, but my boyfriend's Grandma really needs one so I wanted to see what kind of budget we would be talking about. I guess that's not a bad price, but I didn't really check the spec so to speak so can't really be more particular than that I'm afraid. Essentially it seems that this is a handy little shop for any sort of accessories, certainly the staff are friendly, and perhaps worth comparing prices over their larger pieces of equipment!

Very chatty and friendly (maybe too chatty - but hey everyone needs to use their 10,000 word allocation!). I would recommend MCC to anyone who needs their electric shower fixing.

I've been back several times now, to bring new life to old shoes, and I have to say that these…read morechaps are fantastic. En route to town, I dropped in my solid favourite heels to be fixed up, and was greeted by the ever friendly and welcoming guys that man the shop. I'm sure one of them must be Steve, and one day I might venture to ask which one, but on this occasion I wasn't so brave as to make introductions. It costs just over a fiver to get re-heeling done, and I've never been in without being able to collect the shoes about 30 minutes later. Basically, it gives you enough time to pop off for a coffee, take in the world, and pop back again before going about your day. Of course, if you need keys cut, and the various other cobbler odd jobs, they're ready to provide good service for that too. They're always smiling, they're cheap and cheerful, they're fantastic and I've them to thank for not having to buy new shoes. It's always a pleasure. The keycutting services are as fast as they are cheap (very) and on the two occasions I've needed a key cut here, I've had no problems with the finished product working in my doors. Can't say I've ever needed to have a shoe cobbled though. I'm a firm believer in the if-a-shoe's-broke-bin-it school of thought, so I can't comment on Steve's shoe skills, but I'd wager they're as professional as his key-cutting skills are.

Got my washing machine and oven repaired by AJC Domestic after getting his number from someone at…read morework. Was worried that it would cost as much to fix them as it would to buy new ones but was very pleasantly suprised when I found out from the engineer that I hadnt set my oven to the correct setting and it actually worked!! My washer needed a new part but was only small. All in all, I would rate this business as excellent and would recommend it to anyone. Hope this helps others in a similar situation.

MH Computers have been absolutely wonderful at diagnosing and rebuilding my PC. My computer was…read moreoriginally a CyberPower pre-built I purchased during lockdown and failed catastrophically just outside their 2-year parts warranty. I'd had issues with the machine for a while (a dodgy rear USB port fried two peripherals and the HDD casing was broken since I got it), but when I purchased a new PSU and installed it, the whole rig up and died. I ended up reaching out and bringing my machine to MH Computers for diagnostics and whatever repair was necessary. Mick was incredibly friendly and fantastically honest with me. He kept in close contact all throughout the extensive process, being open and honest about my options as we uncovered more issues at each stage. He has been nothing but lovely and helpful the whole time, and I cannot recommend him enough. It had turned out CyberPower had initially sold me a really cheap and dodgy PSU, which had fried not only my motherboard but my expensive Ryzen 9 CPU as well. Mick ended up basically rebuilding the whole rig for me in the end, working with me to make sure I got everything just how I wanted. He even remembered that at drop off I'd said I wanted to rescue some of the stickers on my old case and made sure that was returned to me! The new machine is beautiful and quiet and works like a dream. If I could give him more than 5 stars I would! I can also confirm his service LGBTQ+ friendly as I am Non-Binary and was open during conversations about my LGBTQ+ partner.
