She was so warm and friendly, while also being incredibly professional and knowledgeable about options. About a week before Mother's day, I placed 2 orders for pick-up (on Sunday, May 12th the day of Mother's day). I ordered the "Rebecca" flowers in a premium size for my mother and "The Stunner" in a standard size for my grandmother. Pros: -They have a website with pictures, of the type of flowers and arrangements you can order! The website is very straightforward and easy to access. -I recommend calling the store to place your orders. They're very friendly and service is fast! -Convenient location with a small parking lot -Beautiful, fresh, vibrant flowers on pick-up date -They provide a flat box to place your flowers in so it's easy to carry-out of the store (and they opened the doors for me since my hands were full) -I was stuck in D.C traffic for awhile because it was mother's day. I think the restrooms were for employees only but the gentleman upfront allowed me to go in the back and use it so that was really nice of him! -Customer service was superior (they provided a complimentary phone call an hour before closing because of holiday hours (just to make sure I was on my way) -It's been 4 days since I've picked up my flowers and they're still alive and gorgeous! My mom and grandmother really love them! Cons: -A bit pricey in my opinion! I felt that I could have purchased similar quality flowers that was closer to my house. I probably would not spend more than $95 on an order of flowers next time. -On the website, they do not display pictures of their flowers at different sizes (Standard, Deluxe, Premium) so you don't actually see how much larger or more flowers are being added into your order if you size up. -I would recommend purchasing just the standard size because the premium size is just only slightly larger! I was hoping for more flowers! -It costs about $20 for delivery which to me is a bit pricey, but understandable because of its convenience and because it was a holiday. I would recommend just picking up the flowers yourself rather than paying a delivery fee if you can! -They place the flowers in a fridge/freezer before pick-up, but I think it was way too cold! The containers were all wet from the condensation at room temperature in my car and the flowers felt a bit frozen at first. Online: The Rebecca Flowers (Standard: $125, Deluxe: $155, Premium: $185) they're currently sold out. The Stunner: (Standard: $95, Deluxe: $115, Premium: $145) Spent just over $220 total. I would just say that if you're not willing to spend a bit more on fresh flowers, this may not be the place for you! Otherwise, I'm pretty satisfied with this company! read more

Valentines Flowers are always overpriced but $185 for flowers that last less than 5 days before turning brown and drooping over. Each was received on the same day and cared for in the same manner. The York Flowers ($185) will need to be trashed within 6 days. Wholefoods ($25) looks like about 10 days. The Bouqs ($65) is a bit more expensive but will last two weeks or more. Stay away from florists like York. read more

I'm so pleased with my purchase. Yesterday, I ordered a flower arrangement to be delivered for today and it was delivered at 10:10am this morning. I was skeptical when choosing this florist because of the mixed reviews but since I have experience working in a florist I based upon the pictures of arrangements and with the effort of the staff, customer service in trying to respond to the negative review and hoped for the best. Horrible value, I paid over $100 for a tiny arrangement I could have purchased at Trader Joes. I specifically asked for a large impressive arrangement and was willing to pay more but the sales person ensured me it would be sufficiently large. NOT! I loved the flowers, of course, but I think what impressed me most by York was their customer service. Not too happy. I asked on the phone if they had the flowers shown in the picture. They said yes, except for the sunflowers. I agreed to the substitute. But the arrangement looks nothing like the picture on the website. And, the sunflower substitutions are not all fresh, some with many petals gone. The rose is also not too fresh looking. I won't use them again. Update They called and we're very apologetic and offered numerous remedies, which I am thinking over. They could not have been nicer! I hate ordering flowers long distance over the phone. I don't really even like to order online either. I like to talk to the person who is going to actually arrange the flowers as opposed to someone who simply takes orders and passes them along. I'm pretty picky when it comes to flowers!! A DC friend recommended York Flowers when I needed to send an arrangement to my uncle's funeral. So, I called the DC location and talked to Ken. I told him that I was calling from Texas and needed a beautiful arrangement. He was awesome! We chatted about the flowers that would be in the arrangement. I wanted sunflowers, and Ken made some excellent suggestions about other greenery, etc. he would include. I love that they have a "flower gallery" on their website so that I could "see" what I was getting. Also, it was clear that Ken was the person who would be working the magic on my order. The flowers arrived at the church the morning of the service. (I loved getting the email confirmation!) My friend snapped a picture of them and sent it to me. She (who is not easy to impress) raved about the arrangement. It was huge and artistically arranged. I was very, very pleased! I will use York Flowers again. I will call my new friend, Ken. Recently ordered "get well" flowers, got an email that delivery had been attempted unsuccessfully because no one was home. So I called, said, "Just leave it by the front door." Because really, even if my friend were home, she wasn't going to hop to the front door after surgery. It could sit until someone else got home. But York said, "Can't leave it, due to risk of freezing." Oops, I'd forgotten about that. Cut flowers like refrigeration; but wind and subfreezing temps, not so much. Delivery ended up being 4 days later, but it wasn't a 4-day-old arrangement (my friend emailed me a picture). They'd made a fresh arrangement. Buying a Yelp $10 for $20 value voucher helps. Customer service is wonderful. I came in, asking for a simple bunch of roses. I was shown the roses in the glass display and then shown some really fresh roses stored in the cooler further back in the store. As I was waiting for my roses to be wrapped up, I was watching two florists arrange flowers. Every few minutes they'd step back, evaluate their work and then re-work their arrangements. I compared many Flower shops, many of whom had awful reviews or were just internet services (like FTD) and they were a bit cheaper but gave you the white glove customer service you want. The flowers were beautiful, delivery was early, and the price was the best around. There was also a Yelp discount coupon I could use to save $10.00. I called to make sure it would be applied, after the fact, and they took care of me right away. Plus, their internet ordering system works fantastic with receipts and alerts being delivered promptly. It's not the biggest shop so their selection isn't great, but they have always had snapdragons, my favorite. Their florists also do a great job with designing arrangements, or at least they purchase nicely made arrangements to display in their refrigerator.
