The easiest part of having alopecia was coming in to this store! The biggest selection I've seen out of all stores I've been to. They have so many different products for so many different needs. I didn't feel rushed at all in trying on the wigs, she took the time to explain wig care to me, got me the right products, and they weren't overly expensive which is what I expected. I went to the store to buy a "messy bun" to enhance my hair. Spending lots of time with me, the manager showed me some options, but they didn't match my hair well enough. She found something that could have worked, but she would have cut the hair and give me a new hairstyle. I opted not to spend the money without knowing how the final product would work. When I was about to give up, she showed me a different hairstyle on my hair that met my objective. I was so happy and bought a cool hairbrush and clips I needed for the new style. First time buying a wig. My husband and I didn't know what to expect.. Yong's Salon was clean, well stocked, and has a great selection. Yong herself was very helpful and patient with me. I have worm wigs for almost 4 years now and have never had such a bad experience purchasing a new wig. I've bought from multiple stores to try a variety of hair and brands. I walked into yongs to look at the wigs they had to offer today and asked the lady for help as usual. ( I like to see what they recommend) she showed me some and I told her that's not what I was looking for, then I was looking at the "expensive" wig but she kept trying to show me the lower end wigs. I assured her I didn't care about price but again and again she would bring me back to low end stating "this is only 40$ and those are expensive like 300-400$" i have never had this issue at any other store. I even told her I wear them every day not for fun yet again she still judged me and tried to sell me low end. Not only do they have poor customer service, they have over priced wigs and not much variety. WORST WIG STORE IVE WVER BEEN TO! I highly recommend buying a wig elsewhere. read more

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May and I visited Yong's in mid-July and purchased two wigs in preparation for losing my hair. Yong was extremely helpful, patient, and compassionate. She told me to call her when my hair began to fall out so that she could buzz cut my hair, refit my new wigs, and cut the wigs so they looked perfect on me. I did call her when my hair started falling out and she had me come in near closing time. I was treated like I was the most important person in the world! I started chemo two weeks ago and while going through my "what to expect" visit with my doctor, Yong's wigs was recommended to me. I decided to take their advice and get a wig while I still had my hair. Yong made my visit so wonderful. Explained everything to me, made me have fun trying the wigs on and in the end found one that looked exactly like me. No one would know I didn't have my own hair. I thought I liked that until I tried on one that was "not me".. What fun, I felt so different and in the end I bought the one most like me and my daughter decided I should have the other as I came to life when I put it on. She bought it for me for Mothers Day. Well, this morning the hair has started falling out and I am going to see Yong to have her shave it off. I also look forward to seeing her after my surgery in the fall as she even took the time to explain the items she carries that will be of use to me at that time. I cannot recommend the wig consultant Verilee enough. She was fantastic. I visited the salon today with my mother who is preparing to start chemo and expecting to lose her hair. Neither of us knew anything about wigs, and Verilee was very helpful and patient in explaining the types of wigs to us and showing us how to fit them. Instead of just sending us to get lost in the aisles with hundreds of wigs, she listened to what we wanted and helped us choose some appropriate options. I was dreading the wig shopping experience as another of cancers unpleasant side effects, but Verilee was so kind and helpful that it was actually a lovely afternoon. We found a wig that looks incredibly like my mom's real hair, and I think she feels a little more at ease knowing this will be an option if she loses her hair during treatment. Brought my 93-year-old mother to Yong's last week so she could consider a wig. After decades of coloring and perming her hair, Mom's remaining hair is brittle and thin. Combined with increasing dementia, her ability to maintain an appearance that makes her happy was a challenge. While she was a reluctant wig customer, the ladies at Yong's could not have been more solicitous, kind, and patient. They helped me scour the "heads" for possible styles and colors for Mom to try. They showed her how to cover her wispy hair with a soft net cap, and how to adjust the wig itself. They also explained everything to my dad, who will actually be responsible for remembering the daily routine. Once the perfect wig was selected, Yong trimmed and styled it, again with care and concern. Given the location near many retirement communities, I imagine that quite a large percentage of Yong's customers are elderly, and her staff definitely is attuned to their needs and concerns. read more
