The newest frozen yogurt place in Cedar Falls. Located in the strip mall with Jimmy Johns and near…read moreTarget and Michaels and Wal-Mart, this little frozen yogurt place is pretty amazing. Menchies is a pretty big yogurt chain, so they have pretty standard practices in place. The interior is very new. As they just built it, that makes sense. Everything is quite clean, and the color scheme is bright and welcoming. They have multiple four-person tables with chairs set out, but there isn't any bar-stool seating or couch seatings like most frozen yogurt places. Just chairs and tables. Not so fond of that. The tasting cups are right set out and easy to grab, so you don't have to bother an employee if they're busy. My favorite part of Menchies is how they showcase their frozen yogurt flavors. Most froyo places just give the name of the flavor and maybe how much fat the flavor has it in. Menchies goes a step above. Each one mentions the fat content (none, low, full), the sugar content (sugar-free or not), how many calories are in 4 ounces, and any concerning allergen information (milk, nuts, soy, etc.) This makes it a whole lot easier to see that, even if their Iced Coffee and Salted Caramel flavors both rate equally on your enjoyment scale, you'll shave almost 70 calories off your total dessert nutrition if you choose Iced Coffee instead of Salted Caramel. Toppings bar and frozen yogurt stations were pretty well cleaned. Everything was well-stocked, and there was no issue with pouring anything. Decent topping choices as well. My partner was super excited about the marshmallow topping. I liked that they had brownie chunks, cookie dough bites, and coconut and sprinkles. The frozen yogurt itself was good. As amazing as most places - only Menchies tends to use more-interesting flavors than many chains. They have a current flavor that blends Crunch candy-bar-bites into a flavor. Interesting taste. I'm not sure how often they'll be rotating flavors here because it's still new. Staff was pretty friendly, but they were hands-off too. They greeted us when we walked in, asked if we needed help, and bid us farewell when we left, but they weren't hovering or making us feel uncomfortable. They seemed knowledgeable and friendly enough. They were conversing amongst themselves during dead time, but it wasn't obnoxious or problematic. Note: Lots of commercialization going on here for their brand. That little ice cream mascot is available for purchase on shirts, kickballs, plushies, and more.

They have good frozen yogurt but could have a lot more flavors and variety. The service people were…read morequit nice though being willing to help with the machines when out.

I have been wanting to check out The Nook and this coffee shop for a while. It was pretty packed inside but service was fast. I loved the mocktails they had on the menu. I went with an iced strawberry matcha. OMG! It was fabulous. Tasted like Strawberry Quik but in the best possible matcha way. There's lots of seating areas or you can just go next door to browse. There's an upper level with tables, too.

They sell flatbreads and avocado toast. I will say I am a bit confused on why the avocado toast is not listed as having a gluten free option. It's made with schaar bread and oh so good! There is a way to make the avocado toast dairy free too. If you have a gluten and dairy allergy like I do, none of the baked goods are dairy free. I ended up ordering an Oscar Wilde Berry Lemonade. Service was fast. I had my drink within minutes of ordering. It was the perfect amount of refreshing for a hot summer day and I loved the faint hint of lavender as well. I did also make sure to bring up the fact they may want to look into listing the gluten free option for the avocado toast because it is not stated anywhere on the menu.
