Came here on a Sunday night and basically nothing was left to really pick from. I believe there were 3 yogurt flavors available but there were TONS of toppings! I ended up not getting anything because I wasn't interested in any of the flavors. All 3 of them! My friend I met up with ended up with some kind of espresso/ salted caramel creation loaded with toppings .... she seem to love it. I ended up with a nasty aquafina water. The young staff was ok . Teenagers ..... Yogurt Mountain use to be one of my favorite spots many years ago but honestly now, I forget all about them. Glad to see them still in business as some of their locations have closed. I've always have fun trying the varieties of yogurts and Yogurt Mountain is always swapping out new flavors for you to enjoy. The business is always clean and the employees are friendly every time I'm here. It's cool, they let you try samples before you start filing your bowl, but I doubt they still do that because of COVID 19. I normally just add a few toppings after getting my yogurt because you'll be charged by the weight and I like to keep it under $5 dollars. read more

We were in the mood from a sweet treat, and it had been a while since we had to one of these types of places so we decided to pop in. Sample cups are not set out so you've gotta ask an attendant for some. She gave us a couple each so we could sample before selecting our final flavor. I went with birthday cake, but there are lots of different flavors (and some vary by season). Then come the toppings. This is NOT the place where you would want to go if you had but allergies since I'm sure there's cross contamination between items, but since that's not a problem for us, I tried not to think about it. Have you ever experienced a situation where a business blatantly disregarded the law? It's incredibly disheartening when it happens, especially when a service animal is involved. Around 4pm-5pm I have witnessed a shocking experience when a service dog was denied entry to a business that didn't know their ADA laws. Despite being notified that the pup was a service dog, the staff member suggested that the handler switch off the dog with someone else. (Pure ignorance & very distasteful) We must be vigilant to ensure service dogs are not separated from their handlers! I have advised the handler to file a complaint with ADA and I will be a witness! Good frozen yogurt spot to get your sweet tooth taken care of. The selection of creams were decent but the toppings made up for it. It's about 57 cents an oz minus the bowl. You can do a waffle bowl for 75 cents extra but I think it's not needed. The place was clean, the staff friendly, and they'll let you try samples of the yogurt so you don't waste money. The actual frozen yogurt melts quickly, even when inside the shop so eat kinda quickly. I didn't mine as it reminded me of a milkshake. The topping choices ranges from chocolate chip cookies to Reese's cups to even cheesecake bites along with your traditional sprinkles, cherries, and the like. If you want to be a 'cool' dad, then take your kids to a Yo Mo. Mom was out of town for the weekend, so I took the kids out for frozen yogurt. Never mind that it was freezing outside...I wanted to win some "you're the best dad ever" points. You would think the employees would be fearful of a dad and 5 kids running into their place of business would flinch, but they are seasoned professionals. They handed us some 'sample' cups and we proceeded to try all the options. After each has their choices picked out, they all got their own bowls. If you've never been, you fill your bowl with yogurt and your choices of toppings. You go to the counter to weigh your treat and pay by the weight. If I allowed my kids to get their own yogurt and toppings...they would fill their bowls to the rim, costing me the title to my van. So, I fill their bowls to the appropriate level...while still staying 'cool'. There are usually about 12 or so options of yogurt and 30 or so toppings. So the combinations can be artistic, disgusting, or anywhere in between. Most of my kids get some kind of gummy item and other weird things that don't go on yogurt...but that's OK. I'm not eating it. I pay, they eat, and we are all happy. And I'm the parent that they want in town because they get frozen yogurt. So, dads...just a friendly heads up. There machines are out of order a lot and sometimes don't have a clean candy bar, I know it's hard to keep it looking nice the way some kids come in and make it a mess. We went in today and honestly, I was embarrassed that something looked like this in our city. It smelt like a dirty diaper, not one table was clean, ice cream everywhere and toppings all over the floor with half the handles of the machines broken. Visited 10/2/21 in the afternoon I think the employees names was Victoria on the receipt, the place was filthy. Only half the yogurt machines were working and the toppings area was gross most of them empty or nearly and stuff mixed together. There was food all over the floor in that area. I used to enjoy a Yogurt Mountain location back near the Summit a few years, but due to a lack of income the location closed. I decided to make a trip out to the location here today under the impression I could maybe get a nostalgia trip with my younger sister. Instead I got an overpriced cup of frozen water and subpar toppings. The store was extremely dirty, and unkept. Nearly all the frozen yogurt flavors were out and most toppings clearly were stale. The sole employee there seemed half asleep and depressed to be helping customers. The chocolate sauce dispenser broke when I used it. All seating was dirty outside. My yogurt dispensed in the most unappealing way possible looking more like a half melted slurry. I ended up paying nearly 17$ (yes 17$) for 2 small yogurts. My sister and I ended up throwing them away after a few bites because it had a taste of flavored ice and the toppings were extremely stale. This place has become dirty and gross. Over the years my kids have enjoyed the idea of topping their own ice cream "frozen yogurt" and it brings joy to their eyes, but I will not be coming back to this location in Trussville. The workers just sit behind the counter while every table is disgusting and napkins are everywhere on the ground. Also it had a musty old mop odor to the whole store. read more

I went back to Yogurt Mountain this morning & got there @ 11:15 as Yelp had them opening @ 11:00. Kathy told me they didn't open till 11:30 but she allowed me to sit down inside & wait. She was so extremely helpful & we talked a bit while she was getting everything ready to open for the day. She's knowledgeable, very friendly & just really seems to care about her customers & she knows her business. She helped me make good choices & I so appreciate someone who does that. I didn't realize u can "register" w/ur cell phone & get some good deals & such. So I did that & during our transaction we continued to talk. I LOVE Yogurt Mountain's goodies but Kathy definitely helped to decide I NEED to come back more often, especially since it's getting warm. I told her that Yelp had the wrong hours & I already see, after she said she'd look into it, that the hours are correct now. I feel I made a new friend @ one of my FAVORITE places to go!! I have never written a review before, but in writing this review I hope it reaches a manager/owner of some sort because if it was my business I would want to know. My low rating has nothing to do with the product you are serving, but merely the service. I'm just now leaving your facility & the young female that was responsible for taking my payment was on the phone the entire time having a personal conversation. She never said anything, just pointed at the scale for me to place my bowl of frozen yogurt. She told me how much my total was, swiped my card & then proceeded to ask if I needed a receipt. That's it. No, "Hi, hello or thank you." I understand it was towards the end of her night, but again if she was my employee I wouldn't be happy.
