From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a super fun experience. From the quirky and colourful interior with a random disco ball and LED lights, it definitely shone through the vibrant colours of Karachi. The menu was the highlight , with the innovative and fun names of the yummy desserts on offer such as "Laal Pari" and "Mastana Mango" which displayed a great sense of Pakistani culture! We got the strawberry rolled ice cream, the cookies and cream and one of their highlights, the iced Gola! All the ice creams were delicious with a great taste to them and really light yet super wholesome. The Gola, essentially a snowcone covered in traditional Pakistani flavours such as Rooh afza and condensed milk as well as an assortment of fruits, jellies and nuts was as crazy as it sounds, but definitely worked! Love the idea of this place, definitely would come again!

We ordered the Raja Masti, the Mango flavor, the Peshawari Ice Cream, and the oreo cookies and cream flavor. They were all just okay, and the Peshawari ice cream was slightly disappointing because it didnt taste like authentic Peshawari ice cream. They also had no seating space at all and their ice cream took well over 15 minutes to make which made it awkward to stand around. Its a cute spot, but they could work on the ambiance and overall flavor taste and ice cream flavor variety.

You could really taste the Reese in it and we got to enjoy watching our server roll it on the cold slate. A good amount of parking outside the shop, a few chairs inside but definitely more of a takeout joint. A little disappointed as I wanted to enjoy the affogato and the Reese rolled ice cream together but it took 15mins for the affogato to be ready. Our server had helped the next customers before getting back to my affogato. So we finished the Reese rolled ice cream before it was ready :( Otherwise, cute little shop off Howden. There's not many of them! Would come by again.

It doesn't really affect me too much - my friend and I actually thought it was a little funny how miserable someone can look in such a colourful place - but it definitely makes the overall service and experience there not the best it could be. Just smile! And a random tip: THIS PLACE SELLS BUBBLE TEA. I didn't know this before but there's a PresoTea attached to this place so they sell bubble tea too! There's a huge variety of flavours of milk teas, slush, and toppings to try. I'm glad there's a place very close to home that can satisfy both my froyo and bubble tea cravings :)

However, that was the only good thing about the place. There was 1 waiter in front of the house, 1 in the back to prepare the orders. There was only 1 other table when we arrived. We placed our orders and they were brought out in a timely manner. My kids picked the 2 dishes - Matchamatics (with matcha white chocolate ice cream) and Bisco Fever (honey vanilla ice cream with Lotus Biscoff sauce and cookie crumble). The titles of the dishes are clever. You pick the ice cream and toppings combo, then you choose the base - waffle, crepes, liege waffle and croffle. We choose one with Belgium waffle (nothing special) and the other with liege waffle (made with brioche dough, this was better than the Belgium waffle and the dough was nice and chewy). Each dish came with a single huge scoop of ice cream. The best part were the cookie dough like pieces on the dish, I think they call these blondies. Everything was just way too sweet. We kept on drinking water to wash down the sweetest. At $23.75 each, I would've much prefer going out for dinner. Even my kids complained that it was too sweet! Anyway, it's been years since I've been to Demetres, and after this experience, I doubt if we'll ever return.

Rollz is situated kiddie corner from DQ off Centre and Queen. I have nothing against DQ at all, but if even a small percentage of the customers could check out Rollz then it would be great for small business. It gets its name "Rollz" since it's made completely from scratch (liquid cream) and then placed on a freezing device which freezes the ice cream and then when scrapped off, comes off in a rolling pattern. The nice thing about being made from scratch - apart from quality - is that they can make any flavour available from the various toppings and syrups on hand. My son wanted ice cream cake, and they had real pieces of angel food cake and then broke it up and mixed it into the ice cream, along with the birthday sprinkles. Then they asked whatever topping my son wanted it and he asked for peanuts and oreo. All was included with the base price of $7. Note that it's quite a large serving, so some may choose to share and there's still lots. The staff on hand were super nice too. A great experience and fairly unique, and most importantly delicious!
