This place has lots of free weights, with a cage, dumbbells from 5 lbs to 100, a smith machine, and tons of nautilus equipment, and some cardio equipment. Rather than suffering with hotel "fitness centers" like I have been for the past 4 weeks, I decided…read moreto stop into to Snap Fitness to see if they had a short term membership I could use for my (hopefully) last two weeks in FDL. Talk about customer service, this place nailed it. I wish I had figured this out a month and a half ago! I was greeted by a gentleman when I walked in and after asking if I could join for a month or a couple weeks, he said that he could extend their "Free Week" promotion to two weeks for me, no charge. Wait...what? You are going to let me work out here for free? Sold!!! I did buy a door card for $15 that lets me into the facility 24/7, but when I return the card next week, I get my full $15 back. As far as the gym goes, it's not very big. However, it's mos def sufficient for a place like FDL. They have about 8 treadmills, 4 ellipticals, a few stationary bikes and a few recumbent bikes. They also have a dozen or so machines, both plate loaded types and cable types. What stuck out to me is the pull-up and dip station and especially the bent over row machine (not enough gyms have this!). Their free weight selection is pretty decent: an assortment of curl bars, dumbbells from 5-90 lbs, a Smith machine, and a squat rack. For you Jersey Shore fans, they also have a tanning room for $15 a month. They do offer health screenings and personal training, but I'm not sure about the fees associated with them.

I've gone to a few Anytime Fitness gyms and this was probably the nicest one. We went after hours so no staff was on site to talk to but everything was there as expected. However, access to this sports complex is included as an amenity, and with free, frequent shuttle service from the hotel, it was easy and convenient to give it a try. This is a full-service facility. They have tennis courts (with pickleball courts coming soon), a complete exercise and weight room, a lap pool, multiple hot tubs, and a sauna. They even have a hole cut into Woodlake for cold plunging, which was impressive. All of the exercise equipment was high quality and in good working order. We were familiar with most of it, but it would have been nice to have an attendant present in the workout area for questions or guidance, especially for anyone less experienced with gym equipment. The locker rooms, showers, and bathrooms were all clean, modern, and well maintained. Everything felt spacious and thoughtfully laid out. We were glad we took the time to check it out. While it is not located directly at the American Club, the shuttle service makes it easy to access, and the quality of the facility more than makes up for the short ride.

Plenty of tennis and pickleball courts and multiple pools - so , if you are a lap swimmer, you don't have to share with the kids. Friendly staff and while the locker room amenities are sparse and the lockers are on top of each other (as previously mentioned), the locker room itself is large and the pool deck and other areas have plenty of room. There is also a sauna and steam area. Family locker rooms exist also outside of the regular ones (but they're one person use and always seem wet...). Water is around if you're thirsty and everything is very clean. Worth a visit if you're local or staying nearby.
