I travel often and tend to test out new yoga studios and no studio quite compares. I have never had a bad class at prana - and I've taken a class with Kathleen (the owner), Charlie, and MacKenzie (regularly). They do keep the studio HOT! Which I love. Each class has been different and unique. The instructors all know you and are all so welcoming. I'm moving away in a couple of months and I feel truly blessed to have found the studio, even if only for a short period of time. I will definitely return if I'm ever in the area!

I love that I can get a workout in a totally different way here than just taking yoga classes all the time. I want to get rid of my flabby arms, get nice legs, and basically tone my whole body, but yoga can only do so much! The sculpt and barre classes definitely target the areas that yoga does not! You may think you're fit, until you walk into one of these classes and feel the need to vomit several times (in a good way). Definitely my favorite studio I've attended since moving to Maryland. Even the aesthetics is super pleasing! It's a brand new studio, and you can definitely tell how new it is because of how pristine everything still is. But you can tell a lot of thought went into the design of it all. The yoga studio has 3 different sets of lights that are all on dimmers. The sconces and the ceiling perimeter lights are my favorite! You no longer have to deal with bright lights overhead whenever you're laying down on your back! They have a completely different room for the sculpt and barre classes, but both studios have surround sound, which I love! Normally, studios just have speakers in the front of the room which can either make it very loud in the front or not as motivational in the back. But here, the music can pump you up no matter where your mat is! I cannot recommend this studio enough and am so glad to have the opportunity to take such a great variety of classes with great teachers.

Our instructor, Sydney, was helpful and funny. His humor helped break up the silence. This is a no judgment zone - feel free to take your shirt off, it may even help. When the say it's hot yoga it's HAWT, and with everyone sweating it gets kinda humid . The session progresses through a series of breathing, standing, then laying poses. This class is really good for increasing your flexibility, strengthening your back, and detoxing your body. BRING WATER, YOU WILL NEED IT. If you can't fully do a pose, there are suggested resting positions. I suggest you do as best as you can and listen to the instructors suggestions on how to modify the pose. I love working out, but I usually do HIIT. Even still this workout is still challenging, and you sweat. A great caloric burn.

What I noticed was that many of the studios in MD we're just not the same caliber as LA in terms of amenities and teachers... until I found Yoga Factory Annapolis / Annapolis Power Yoga! The facility is great (they have showers and amenities), free/easy parking, and it feels like a community / small business (not corporate like Core Power). The teachers were extremely knowledgeable and their hot yoga classes are actually hot with a real heating system. Love that they offer an array of classes from traditional Bikram, vinyasa (non-heated), to HITT (classes with weights for sculpting). I can't wait to go back. Thanks guys for having me!
