Oh boy. What a shame. Used to be my favourite quick sushi haunt, but now they price the dishes wrong (almost double what it should be), a hand roll is only half filled, the 'chef' adds the wrong and way too much mayo like sauce (what?!). At paying I mention this and all I get is 5 'I'm sorry's in short succession with the bill too high and the question how I want to pay that amount?! Really?! There were times I frequented YoSushi at least once a week but this certainly made it the last time. Overpriced, staff is unknowledgeable, food has gone down the drain and the experience has gone from best to worst in the timespan of just over a year. Get to the Chase: Pros: 1) It's quick service all because the food is rotating on a conveyor belt...but that also attests to the quality of the food (not so great) 2) Interesting idea of serving food, and also provide buttons at your table that can pour water or call out for a waiter (which does so in an extremely loud YO! This branch of Yo Sushi really let's the chain down. I have eaten here on more than ten occassions - more out of necessity than desire I hasten to add and each visit is preceded by the ritual "should I shouldn't I go" arguement. The quality of this branch is hit and miss. The fresh Sushi never seems to be on the conveyor belt....and if you order something you will usually be waiting for ages only to discover they have lost your order. The service is bad. Been ages since I went to Yo Sushi, the food is decent but the portions are small especially for the dearer dishes. I miss the original location as the new location feels squashed in comparison. Yo Sushi may have been great when it launched, but with other places that have recently opened it just feels stale. read more

This particular Yo Sushi has seemingly become a bit neglected. For a start off the robot that used to journey around the conveyer belt has gone and the buttons that call for attention don't work any more (the toilets were particularly appauling!) I've enjoyed many a leisurely luncheon here before nipping into the cinema next door. Habitat and Waterstones aside, the O2 Centre's shops and restaurants are fairly hideous, so this YO has pretty much been my default snack setting. There's a touch of weekend creche about it - many people with many babies - but they all seem fairly well-behaved and the non-babied certainly won't feel outnumbered. If you must go to the O2, this is a good place to fill up first. read more

The selection of dishes could have been a bit more varied, but i did go during the quieter times and the place lends itself to dishes being picked and then replace, i would recommend going when its a little busier, if you want variety. read more

I was travelling in London and I have no phone connection. After shopping at Habitat, I stop by at Yo sushi. The lady manager inside is so helpful to set up wifi for me and make sure it works. Serve me to the table. The food is pretty decent which you can find the same at Heathrow airport. I really appreciate their service there. I will go back again. read more

I have always ventured out to this branch of Yo Sushi, as it is very conveniently located near work. Unlike the other branches coming here is the luck of the draw kind of situation. On some occasions you can get the most friendly " we appreciate you picking to come here to eat" kind of service and sushi that is so fresh that you have to eat it slowly in order to devour the fulfilling taste. On the very few yet memorable bad occasions you wish you never disturbed the waiting staff and the very look of the not so fresh sushi trotting along the conveyor belt is enough to send anyone running out of the place. However, when the craving of sushi hits, it needs to be fulfilled. As a regular i have mastered a few things in order to avoid more disastrous trips: Tips- * Order as soon as you arrive, take a look at the menu before you go there so you have a fair idea, they serve all of the regulars- sashimi, hand rolls, noodles and rice based dishes. * Never sit at the back tables you will surely be waiting a long time to get your green tea free refills and the key notion "of out of sight out of mind" will be the mantra. * Take advantage on Blue Mondays (a list of over 20 dishes that are prices at £2.30) which eases the pain of the bad service. * Avoid dessert on all occasion instead grab an a pastry or coffee from Apostrophe located beneath the Yo Sushi branch. As it is situated near the cinema its great for grabbing a quick bite or having a lengthy one depending on when your show starts! You are seated around a circular conveyor belt surrounding the kitchen where the chefs prepare the food. You grab whatever you want to eat off the conveyor belt, plates are colour coded by price (avoid the grey!). The selection is reasonably wide but if you cant find something you are after, don't be shy to grab a menu and order exactly what you want and a chef will whip it up in no time! This chain of sushi restaurants is not as bad as one thinks! It was the first to introduce us to the conveyor belt sushi and I really enjoy being able to watch the food pass by and pick things out. I particularly enjoy the chicken noodles and firecracker rice. I also really loved the fried squid they had on their summer special menu. I hear that they now have a new seasonal winter menu which I am sure has many exciting new dishes. The atmosphere is very hustle and bustle when it is busy, but it is fun and you get to watch the chefs in action too. All in all a great experience and good food to boot! read more

Yo sushi is a great restaurant for those who are looking to be a bit adventurous. This was the first place where I tried sushi and I loved it! Some of the food spins round on the conveyor belt, whereas you can order hot dishes which are made freshly in front of you. My favourite dish included salmon, cucumber and rice wrapped in seaweed, and it tastes really good! Another good thing is that with the hot dishes all the food is cooked, so if your friend is not to keen on the idea of raw fish then this is perfect. There is also a little tap for water after every few seats and I loved this idea as you didn't have to pester a waitress every few minutes for a drink. Overall I have recommended this restaurant very high and I will continue too, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! P.S keep a look out for vouchers as their is always some around! read more

i'm a big fan of yo sushi i love the katsu chicken and prawns. there is a rather nice smoked squid salad. The puddings are unusual i love the pancakes which i had at poland street. I beleive they have a different menu at poland street aswell so it would be worth taking a visit to that yo sushi. My son who is a rather fussy eater loves the whole concept of his food going round the bar and having to grab it. read more

I don't know any of the other Yo Sushi so probably the other reviewer is right, we did have a problem with a table (well, the booth they have in the back) booking, and you do wait for ages for an order even if it's as simple as miso soup....but I have to say I love eating there. The taste of the food that comes from the conveyor seems right to me, and the people who work there seem to try make an effort...it's a near enough to us place, with no problems for parking (though I have to say I find the O2 Center parking a ripp of, I hold a Blue Badge for disabeld drivers and always end up paying at least £3 in parking...) so unless a new Yo Sushi opens in a more convenient area for us, we would carry on going. The food are tiny and extremely expensive. The sushi in Japan are without the lids, which indicates Yo sushi do not have the ability to gather many customers to keep food always fresh. The ramen is just nightmare, cannot believe how they ruin the asian food culture. read more

If you have nowhere else to go, and fancy sushi, Yo! is a good stopgap. Beyond that, it's neither good value nor good quality. The fish is often next to tasteless, and sometimes discoloured. The coriander tuna is tasty. Itsu's better if you fancy conveyor belt shenanigans. read more

Great local place. Its a nice and cosy Sushi restaurant where you enjoy a fantastic sushi, prepared by professionals. The atmosphere is nice, although it gets a bit crowded sometimes, but thats understandable. Excluding sushi, there are a lot of other dishes and drinks, but still the guys here are really specialized in preparing sushi. Am a regular at Yo Sushi and have been to several branches across London, all of which have impressed both with the quality of the food and service. However, will never go back to the Finchley Road O2 branch. Dreadful, inattentive sub-standard service. Went on a fairly busy evening - rudely and dismissively shown to our seats. No menus handed to us and we eventually had to drag one of the staff members over to us to take our order. Clearly uninterested in our order, the waiter kept looking over our shoulder. Various items on the menu were not even able to be delivered in an 'open restaurant' environment, such as the O2. Various other items not available and the conveyor belt was almost bare. We overheard the couple next to us complaining as dish after dish came out incorrectly. We ordered 4 dishes, 2 of which never turned up. No apologies from staff when we told them - just that it had been happening all day long and one of the items ordered was not even in stock anyway. Useless. Left hungry and annoyed. read more
