I was nervous about coming here as it always seems empty, but I swung by here for takeaway and had no problems with the service - I was greeted less than a minute after walking in and given a menu to peruse. As soon as I made my decision and walked up to place my order, the waitress stopped what she was doing to talk to me.
I ordered the chirashi donburi and.... It was pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. The fish all tasted good - I just wish there was a bit more - but the rice (and there was a lot of it!) was rather clumpy and stuck together, and not in a way that made me feel like it was meant to be... in a way that made me feel like they skimped on the sauce, if you know what I mean. I did like the sweet shrimp and the salmon. There was only one piece of tuna and at least 2 pieces of everything else, so I wish I had more tuna... but overall it was good, and definitely a place I'd return to.
I can't decide if it's pricey or not because Im horrible at understanding sushi prices. I paid about £10.25 for a bowl of rice, 3 teeny little shrimp and 5 pieces of fish. You tell me if that's normal. Either way, I'll return - where else can I get sushi in the area? read more
