I make this review more as a warning to the other parents who send their children to Chesterbrook. My wife and I had enough issues dealing with the "educators" at Chesterbrook when our child came home with a head injury or covered in human feces - but if you batter our child, you have started something you cannot stop. Perhaps other parents reading this will feel the same way. To be sure, we are in no way 'helicopter parents' and believe in discipline. But, there is, of course discipline and abuse, and this crossed the line. Our son became scared and hesitant to attend Chesterbrook, and would tell us approx. a week later about this incident. Upon hearing this, we met with the "principal" - who showed us the video of the "teacher" being physical with our child. Oddly enough, the principal agreed that the contact was inappropriate and that steps would be taken to remedy the situation. Upon picking up our child a mere three hours later, we were told that the principal had been fired. Following that, in an act of retaliation, we were told that our child was moved to a class of children two years younger than him. When we met with the district manager (or whatever she claimed to be), she not only admitted that she had never video and laughed in our face while we met with her. Completely unprofessional and indicative of somebody who cannot handle their job responsibilities, much less have some control over the well being of children. I could (and would like to) name the relevant individuals, but that will only serve to have this post removed. Nevertheless, those responsible will be held responsible in court. But, my advice - ask questions and get your child out of Chesterbrook asap.

A few months ago, we were looking for a new place to send our children. I had really had it with all of the changes in staff and leadership at the school. I really loved the teachers when we first started but the atmosphere had changed and the teachers were very unhappy. I was beginning to see that it was hurting my children's experience at school. Right before we were leaving Chesterbrook, there was announcement that a new principal (Jen) would be transferring from the Plainfield Chesterbrook. I've never seen a school turn around so quickly (and I have worked in education for 15 years myself). I noticed an immediate change in teacher morale, cleanliness of the school and communication with parents. Because of the changes, we decided to stay. Jen sets high expectations for her teachers and is a great communicator. The teachers seem happy and the kids also seem much happier. Jen has also led new changes such as getting organic milk into the school, ordering new furniture and adding new learning materials. I hope the school continues to make these amazing improvements. As for the curriculum, my 4 year old just read her first book last night, teaches me words in Spanish, can add and subtract and talks about all of the "cool things Ms. Becca teaches her" at dinner each night. My kids are safe, appreciated and have a lot of fun at school. I'm not sure I can ask for much more!

I was…read moreapprehensive (to say the least) about putting him in daycare, but it was something I needed to do. So I did my due diligence and started hours and hours of research. The usual "chain" daycare names came up, but I didn't really want to go that route. My husband and I set aside a day to do some visits to non-chain daycares that were reviewed well and thought they were fine, but I didn't think I had found "the one." So as we drove home I did one last search and Kids Kampus came up - we called and were told we could come tour anytime so we dropped in 5 minutes later. I was immediately struck by how friendly Maria (who had answered my call) was. She gladly toured us around the center and answered our hundreds of questions - even answered some things we didn't think to ask. As we looked around, we were struck by how clean the facilities were, how well equipped every room was, the great outdoor play area, and how kind all the teachers were. But mostly we noticed how much fun the kids seemed to be having. I walked out knowing I had found the one. In 2 years, Kids Kampus has been amazing. They were fully cooperative, compliant, and glad to work with us regarding our son's food allergies. They educated themselves on food allergies, cross-contamination, worked with their outside caterer on special requests, and anything else we were concerned about without hesitation. They also accommodate his speech therapy without hesitation. I've got a little boy who is FULL of energy (and opinions) and they've always treated him as if he were one of their own. Everyone from the owners to directors to staff is patient, kind, and always go above and beyond. I have never had a moment's hesitation about my son's health, safety, or happiness in their care. And the app they use to keep track of his day is pretty cool, too! I recommend Kids Kampus to everyone who asks about high quality care for their children. We'll miss them when it's time for him to start school.

Many of us still have our children there years later. I would say the two biggest drivers are the people and the activities. The director is extremely focused on activities and events - this includes lots of socials, trips, etc. We've met many wonderful teachers over the years. Our kids have admired many of them! A good friend sends her children to The Gardner School of Oak Brook and recommended the Naperville location to me. When we checked the school out, I cried over how much I loved it (and I'm not a crier - I'm super pale and get very blotchy; it's not cute). We signed him up immediately and have been happy with that decision ever since. First, the location is easily accessible from a variety of locations - we are in downtown Naperville, but have friends who are in Aurora, Sugar Grove, Wheaton, etc. The facility is secure and requires two passcodes before entering the main area. It's also extremely clean - I wish my house was that clean... :) But the most important part of TGS is the care and attention that the teachers and directors give the kids. My son started TGS when he was almost four months old, and even though I knew the school was wonderful, it was still scary to leave him for a full day. The teachers and directors are patient, kind, and caring - both with the students and the parents! They are always available for any questions and concerns throughout the day, and I definitely checked in a lot during those first few weeks of school. They are also available for advice - as a first-time parent, I had no idea when to transition my son to the next diaper size or how to introduce solid foods. The teachers helped us with everything, and have made parenting so much easier. TGS has an app that delivers updates throughout the day. I subscribe to all the updates, so I receive notifications when my son eats, has a diaper change, takes a nap, or does any of the fun activities that the teachers prepare for the kids. We also receive pictures during the day, and we love seeing our little guy having fun with his friends. Our two years at the school have been wonderful, and we plan to keep him at TGS until they kick us out :) Seeing our son make friends and learn so much every day has been more than worth the cost to attend, and we could not be happier with the school!

All staff members are extremely caring, fully involved with every student. Each classroom is designed for the different learning levels and depending on age, important life skills assistance (potty training) and even have an infant room. All 3 of mine started at a walking age, so all were enrolled a little over a year old. Their classroom transition process is great and they even have additional programs available for the older classrooms and depending on Elementary schools, they offer bus transport too. I know there's part time and full time hours. Their educational program tied in with their day is so great, I really think it helped with keeping daily schedules and bring in a more school like structure with lots of fun. My children started in July 2024, and while the teachers were great, the overall experience was…read moredisappointing. We were quoted one tuition rate, but shortly after enrollment, it increased without warning. When I questioned it, I was told, "It's only a $50 difference, and if you can't afford it, we can unenroll them." That response was hurtful and unprofessional. Tuition is over $1,600/month for toddlers and increased again starting July, yet the meals provided are minimal, often just half a Nutri-Grain bar and faucet water. Parents also have to pay out of pocket for anything extra, making it hard to see where the high tuition is going. Despite the high cost, my son struggled during his kindergarten readiness test, unable to count to 20 or say his ABCs, basic skills I expected him to learn. I've since withdrawn him from the center. I cannot recommend this location. The care and education do not match the price parents are paying.
