My advice would be - RUN. Never sign up with this gym at all, because their billing practices are…read moreextremely dishonest. There are other negative reviews on google, etc., from people who kept getting charged when they shouldn't have, and promised refunds that never came - and it's no coincidence that they all mention Kaelynn Herbert by name! I was a member of this gym for almost two years. The problems come at the end. Once they have the ability to charge your accounts, they will charge you when they shouldn't, lie to your face about it, and threaten to send you to collections if you try to exercise your legal rights as a consumer to dispute their charges. They overcharged me about $500 for overpriced personal training which was supposed to be stopped, and then lied to me for 6 months about a refund. They always claimed it was always "on the way" - until I got tired of the excuses, and then they pretended it never happened. All those times Kaelynn Herbert claimed she had sent emails putting it through, she was lying to my face, according to the area manager. Thanks Kaelynn, you're a real peach! There will always be excuses why their paperwork is missing, or does not match your own. "Their computers are down", "their system shows that never happened", etc. Never trust anything they tell you or promise you, they are very experienced and convincing liars who fully know how to smile to your face and tell you one thing while entering completely different information into their system. If you're already a member - INSIST on a paper copy of anything they tell you, in writing. They will tell you anything to get your billing info, but after that, you're just prey to be exploited. Trying to cancel will be a nightmare, so it's better never to sign up. They will literally laugh in your face about taking advantage of you. You'll be wondering what happened to all those smiling faces and happy promises, because they flip the script on you fast after the scam is up. They don't seem to be in the business of providing valuable gym training, just milking your bank account with false charges and deceptive tactics, while racking up Silver Sneakers memberships to keep the lights on. I don't think they would even be able to stay in business if they were forced to rely on people actually paying for their own memberships. If you google anytime fitness scams, you will find that this is standard practice - NOT an exception. Go somewhere else. Go ANYWHERE else.

Cost: $480 month + 1x Activation Fee of $99 * includes what I'm assuming was 3 - 30 min training sessions weekly * nutrition * membership(gym access) The kid tasked with talking to me was friendly at the start but got really upset when I started asking basic questions. I asked who authorizes the workouts and nutrition plans, I asked what his credentials were to be a trainer, and what his background was. The person I was working with is 21 and has no background in training. He just was a person that lifted at the gym and then is now a trainer. I wasn't negative to him; I just told him I needed to think about it, which caused this guy to get annoyed with me. I chalk it up to him being young and unable to control his temperament. If you are paying 500 a month, you will ask questions to verify the validity of the product. He stated, "If you do not trust us, then we do not want you here." I explained that you don't just "trust" something blindly; you should do research because that's how you get burned. I passed on this gym as it wasn't the right fit for me. I really did consider it due to the owner; I wanted to and had a card in hand to give it a shot, but trying to give my credit card information and having some kid with an attitude keep saying over and over that if you don't trust us, then we don't want you here when I'm literally giving you a shot. That's just poor business practices. The kid called me up with a poor attitude and tone after I spoke with the owner and was excited about signing up. He reminded me of when you tell your kid to mow the lawn and he really doesn't want to; I had to stop this kid mid-conversation because his attitude was so bad and ask him if he had some personal issue with me or was offended that I had asked basic questions. I even apologized to him if he felt offended by my questions but explained that I just needed to know the source of the training as I wanted to make sure it was effective. He was just agitated that I wasn't blindly just signing up. He'll figure it out as he gains more experience. The owner does have certifications, even if he doesn't say it, I looked it up, and he is tied to a few. He also knows the process as he has put in the time. The "trainer" he tied me to at the start was the only thing that had me pause on this and move on. Always do your research on trainers. $480 a month is a lot for good training in Indiana, so ensure you get your value.

It's in a remodeled building and has abundant equipment, weights and an unbelievable class schedule (spinning, Zumba, pilates, etc..) that has to be seen to be believed. Unlike some other gyms in this area, the fitness classes are included with your monthly membership fee. The gym is always clean, the staff and instructors always friendly. It also has 24 hour access if you purchase a keycard for ten dollars. Worth it if you're a late-night or early-morning type of fitness freak. Also key is the childcare option which makes it so easy to be able to work out - no more excuses! Childcare is a $4 per visit (for 3 hours) or a flat $30 per month which is totally worth it if you're going 3-4 times a week. Not ready to join? First visit is free and there is also a pay-per-visit option which is a very affordable $5 per visit. Overall the best fitness facility in all of Richmond, they have an off-site swimming pool that I haven't been to so I can't comment on that. Also connected to the Cycling Fitness Warehouse which has bikes and biking gear. You have to check out their webpage to really appreciate this facilty.

I was home all last summer and decided to get a membership. I am so glad I did! I took full advantage of all the fitness classes they offered, including spinning, yoga, zumba, body pump, kettle bell, kick fit, and some others! I always left with a sweat and empty water bottle. Not only does this place have great classes, but they also have a lot of cardio machines. I usually never had a problem getting the treadmill or step machine that I wanted. They have so many! But wait! There's more! They also have a cafe, a tanning bed, a childcare center, and two saunas. All of these are great additions to the building and make the membership worth it (Note that the tanning bed is an additional cost to the membership). I can honestly say that now that I am back in Indy, I really miss this as my every day gym. If you are living in Richmond for several months, I would highly recommend getting a membership. It is worth it!

The owner and my trainer, Kelsey, are so accommodating and flexible to my needs as a Frequent Flyer Fitness Failure - with years of trying to get in shape on my own. Always checking in on how I feel, if the weights feel challenging enough without over straining, and is letting me get used to the increased work on my body taking my rests and catching my breath. Fortitude Fitness has made exercise FUN. I look forward to it every week. I *miss* it on my off days. As someone who never did much structured fitness (all self-driven if it was done at all) I 1000% recommend this place for anyone who has been struggling with confidence in what to do, where to start, or keeping consistent. Fortitude Fitness ticks all those boxes and I'm so excited for the future with them.
