This is right above the Yellow Lantern Cafe-- the slightly hipper, more fun-loving twin sister, you could say. (Lol, okay, no.)
YLC's the gastropub version of the restaurant downstairs and stays open much later into the night. Although the view's pretty much the same, since this is at the higher floor, it has a better angle and wider view of the entire city. Gorgeous. They follow the same menu as downstairs (prepared by the same kitchen), but this time I think the pizzas and the pastas would blend with the vibe better. The pizzas are pretty good. But you should get a whole assortment of the appetizers too as bar grub if you're drinking. This does have a fuller bar than downstairs.
The interiors have these mock brick posts and a mix of snazzy wooden and polished gray floors. It has a very open, free-flowing space that's easy to move around in, and I imagine it'd be a pretty cool place to have a party or an intimate music gig. There's also a whole section for playing beer pong tournaments. Complete with custom-made beer pong tables all set up, haha! YLC has all the makings of a pretty great chill spot with the drinks, cool air, and city views, but as it's pretty new, things still haven't clicked as much. Try coming here with a big bunch of friends and bring the fun along with you! read more
