Booth #53 -Pyrex and more

Huge selection of vintage and antique treasures. Love walking around and looking at all the stuff, so nostalgic. If you're looking for anything cast iron, check out booth #53. This is cast iron heaven.

I come here to find beautiful treasures you will spend hours going through all the nooks and corners finding all types of goodies. I love this store and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly plus helpful oh including always ready to make a deal, they take credit cards however best deals are cash! Come to my favorite spot for treasure. Great location on a Main Street with plenty of other antique stores, restaurants and bars. Downtown Martinez where it's all happening!!!!!

Yesteryear's Marketplace has provided myself and my friends with many unique gifts that I wouldn't have found anywhere else. For example: cigar boxes, coffee table reads, and a photo series of a creepy, dead looking mannequin whom we refer to as Griselda. Speaking of Griselda, she is currently occupying some wall space in the hallway, and the gals take photos with her before any late night outings. Previous to the most recent visit Yesteryear was a cluttered mess. It was like your strange Aunt who just can't seem to get rid of anything. It also smelled like a cat, or perhaps an entire litter of cats have been defecating, while simultaneously dying under the furniture, hidden away for the past six months. No longer...somewhat organized (as much as you can get) and the carcass smell has been removed. Hurrah. I can't wait to come back next month and see what other novelties I can find.

The sheer volume and variety in this store is jaw-dropping. You could browse in earnest for many, many hours and not see everything. It's overwhelming, but not in an entirely bad way. Most of the vendors have set up their sections invitingly; however, there are a few who have so many things crammed into their space that you literally cannot get in; it would be like an archaeological dissection of layers to get through it all. There's zero danger of stock running low here! No matter which 20th-century decade you're into, it's virtually guaranteed that you will find something that catches your fancy. And the prices...oh, the prices. More than once I was stunned at how reasonable things were. If you're a non-wealthy collector with wealthy taste, you will be very happy at Yesteryear's.

$27.09 with a missing hinge

This place has some nice things, however most things seem very overpriced and everything is thrown about and stacked on top of other items. I also didn't appreciate the misinformation I was given about an old print of woman laying down, I was interested in it until the owner told me it was a photo used for playboy I the late 1800's... too bad playboy wasn't published until 1953. That coupled with him pricing it at $75 I had to pass. I didn't want to leave empty handed so I left with this basket that I had to squeeze past other items to be able to reach. It had no price tag and was just thrown on top of a pile of random junk so I expected the price to be low but when I got to the front I was quoted $25 plus tax. Not a great deal and I won't be back.

Ugh city :( I've been to quite a few secondhand shops and they all tend to have that same overstuffed thing going on but they didn't creep me out. This place creeped me out in a "Silence of the Lambs" sort of way. It was just way too stuffed and way too dirty feeling. The prices are super high for the "antiques" they are peddling. It is a big 2-story shop...a ton to look at...way too overwhelming for me and I just didn't want to be in there. The shop guy didn't acknowledge our presence and had an Ebinezer Scrooge face the whole time. Just an uninviting place. Avoid!!! Try Treasure Hunt in Pinole instead...its overstuffed but not creepy and you actually want to see everything.

Part of the main reason I love living in Vallejo is the aesthetics of antique shops it offers. Antique shops are wonderful and Yesteryears is one that you can get lost in! Often I will have breakfast with an ample amount of caffeine then walk into the shop. Most days I go with no intentions of buying (it saves my wallet) but leave with something to remember my trip by. It's a really fun game! I go in with no expectations of people trying to sell me something and leave happy I sold myself on something. It's clear that people have they're own sections of antiques (consignment?). Walk the downstairs and upstairs and tell me you didn't walk out with something? Help is there if you need it and keep in mind there aren't sales people that walk about offering help. Your kinda on your own and it's the best feeling! Last time I was there I took note that I will most likely be back to purchase some sort of stone. The stone & rock section, well, ROCKS. Four stars because they have yet to put up their landmark rocking horse up for sale! P.S. I would be the first person to bid on it.

More of an existential crisis than an antique shop…read more You will be filled with dread the moment you enter this half empty purgatory, you will question many of your life choices as you randomly gasp at the absurd prices ($25 for a Gumby missing an arm AND a leg?) and your fingers will turn black like cancer from all the dust that seemingly covers everything in this God-forsaken shop including the shop owner who answers simple questions in what sounds more like a death rattle than any language that I'm aware of. There is no reason other than sheer morbidity why anyone would want to enter this shop but if you do you will find yourself in a limbo like state and without a doubt you will find one thousand & one reasons to want to leave.

But the place is downright depressing, as though the vendors don't care enough to maintain their booths or arrange them in an eye-catching way. The word that keeps coming to mind is "desolate." If the owner sees this review, I hope he takes it in the spirit in which it was intended...this store really needs some love and attention to make it more appealing.

She bought it in 1967 and had it reupholstered 18 years ago with beige silk brocade with very faint pink highlights. This couch was for guests when they visited. She passed and left it for me, knowing that I would take care of it. Even though it is beautiful, it is a very light color and I am concerned about that because I am going to use it every day so I had a cover made for it. This is where Pieced on Earth, Janet and her staff come in. I chose a deep green suede material. The first time I saw just one pillow completed, I almost cried. It is absolutely beautiful. She personally designed the covered for the rest of the couch adding customized touches that made it look so close to upholstered that I just had to hug it, I feel all the love she put into it. I discussed the history and she understood my desire to honor my mother and take care of it. Her attention to detail is a testament to her craftsmanship. She wanted to make sure I am happy. And I tell you she made me so very happy. I just wanted a customized slip cover. She discussed piping details with me, that I didn't even think of and how she secured the bottom looks almost like she removed the existing fabric and covered the frame. It is beautiful. She even detailed the base at the of the back of the couch cover. The curved section was a little tricky, but she took her time and looked at it checking with me to make sure, it was to my liking, I also told her it was too low for me. Solution, she had me order some 6 "wooden legs that look simply fabulous, like they were there all along. As we discussed the cover, I got a good feeling, she understood how important this process was for me. She is so personable and talented. I trusted her with a couch that has a lot of history and she respected it, took care of it and covered it with love. She is just the best and I am so glad I met her. Thank you Janet, and for choosing such talented artisans to assist you with your work. Your work represents respect, care and a high degree integrity. I have been enjoying my couch. It looks so good in my home. Thank you so very much!

It's no longer a dark and cramped museum of over-priced items that sit for literal years, gathering dust. It's now a bright, spacious, and dynamic place to shop and visit. The new owners (a young sister duo) have an incredible eye for pieces from every decade in the past 100 years. No matter what you collect - be it media, ephemera, kitsch, housewares, soft goods, lighting, home decor, clothing, jewelry/accessories, or furniture - you WILL find something that calls out to you for a price you can't resist. I especially enjoy chatting with Sam (the sister who happens to have been there each time I've visited) about our shared fascination with the stories behind, well, everything. There's just something about knowing where an object came from and who loved it first that makes it extra precious. Bonus: A cat museum - appropriate to the store name - is being planned.
