His wife passed away suddenly about 8 months ago and he hasnt gone anywhere that whole time. She was my best friend. It was a pleasant surprise, when he agreed to have lunch with us. We decided to go to Zea's on W. ESPLANADE. It was obvious they were busy as most of the lot was full. The first thing we noticed was the new interior renovations. It was definitely brighter and open since the last time we were here. We finally got sat at a table, wasnt a long wait. Our server, (young lady named Taylor) was our server. She was very friendly, inviting personality and made you feel welcomed. We started off with drinks and the Hummus appetizer. Never seen a big appetizer like this, it was perfect for 3 even 4 ppl and very good. It was served with warm pita slices. I remember they served cucumber slices upon request, not sure if they still do that. The lunch entrees were Almond chicken salad for my wife. Our friend ordered the Thai rib plate and I had the Crispy duck. As far as I know, my food was excellent, the duck was well cooked and moist. The Thai ribs are usually always good, no doubt that has changed, I stole one of my friends ribs. It went to good use. My wife said the main salad was good, but she feels the chicken itself lacked flavor, but since this is my review, only my opinion matters, lol. The Thai ribs were very good. I love the corn grits and the zea potatoes. For me, I feel this was my best meal I've had all year so far. Would I come back? Heck yeah. You buying? I overall, love the change. The new menu and decor is a hit for me.

Our granddaughter had the Balsamic Salmon which looked so pretty and was delicious but it was almost $30 and came with 2 basic sides. The hamburgers were cooked well but still only came with a basic side and the fries were awful. The atmosphere was okay but a bit dark. Personally he should have been removed off the floor it cost nothing for kindness and to be courteous to all customers. Unfortunately Drake seems to need further training in customer service.
