Canadian Tire finally opened up in my hometown! Was it worth the wait? Probably since Edson did…read morelacked a general store that catered hardware & automotive products all in under one roof. Though through my first impressions, it feels like this particular location is quite limited due to how small this place is. Comparing to the other Canadian Tires I have been to, this place is a hit-or-miss due to how cramped it is. It is literally the smallest one I have been to as they try to stock as much stuff as they could in a building half the size as a regular one. You can generally find things like tools and automotive supplies yet the selection is very sparse compared to other Canadian Tires. Here you won't find three aisles dedicated to power tools; rather it is just a small section on a shelf. For sporting goods, there's only a handful of things like hockey gloves, basketballs and netting rather than an expansive selection. As with their newer stores, this location contains a Mark's Work Wearhouse (with a decent selection of clothing) at the back of the store, which makes it harder for customers to see as opposed to the ones I have been to where it's integrated on the side with better visibility. Overall if you just want a quick place to buy a few hardware and tools at reasonable prices, this location does that. If you're searching for more variety and selection, then it's probably best to look elsewhere in town (or in the city).

It is cramped for space and too much stock often blocks the aisles and has to be searched for when requested. That said they are new and growing/learning. This Shoppers is pretty much the same as with the other stores I have been to. Aside from the…read morepharmacy, there is the standard oversized cosmetics section, health care products, magazines, food and electronics. The pharmacy is average and does what it's supposed to do: get a note from the doctor and come here for your prescription. Simple as that. The pharmacists are alright and helpful on telling you how to use the medications and other relevant info though they can be a tad slow when it comes to service. Prices for shampoo and other related products are reasonable and can be cheaper than Wal-Mart or Extra Food when they have a sale going on. Sometimes I wonder why Shoppers has a food section (doesn't make much sense) but the price of their milk is the only thing worth buying. The electronics section is disappointing, mostly because it is really limited to cameras and a couple of Wiis and usually doesn't carry some of the products advertised on their flyer. The staff are friendly so that's a plus. If they have something on special that I want to buy, I'll go here. But other than that, it is just a typical pharmacy.

Told our headboard was on order, 3 weeks later found out it had never BEEN ordered. Guaranteed our "new" table would be in on a given date, table still hasn't shown up, and it turns out the table ordered was a floor model from another store. Told we would "definitely" get a call back from the manager by day end. Not only did they not call, but when we called back the next day, she'd left for vacation. Edit: After several phone calls, my wife was finally able to deal with a regional representative (Jessica). She was very helpful and apologetic. She sorted everything and made more than generous recompense for the original negative experience. Although I am still not happy with the way the original representative (Emma) handled things, we are now quite satisfied overall with the outcome, and more than happy with how Jessica went over and above and ultimately resolved the situation. Kudos to her, and I hope the regular staff can learn from her example.
