So the actual per pound price is almost 16 dollars! I barely caught this in the checkout line. Last time I will trust anything g at Hannaford. Time to find a new grocer!

My lackluster rating of this location mostly reflects my experiences with the hot bar (not the wing…read morekiosk) in the meat department - though the overall store prices are also less than ideal, even before COVID hit. I have tried getting hot chicken tenders here five times now, over the past year. Four of those five times the chicken was barely room temperature; two of those times they were inedible tubes of tendon and gristle. I have never had either issue, consistently, at any other Hannaford location. I've shopped at many. I have spoken to staff here twice about this issue. The first time was an older man working the counter, who, when I asked how long the hot food stayed under the lamp before being pulled (expecting to hear "four hours"), replied "until close, when it gets refrigerated". Thinking he assumed I meant just the current batch (it was 5:30 PM), I clarified. His answer remained the same, and he looked at me like I was crazy for asking. That ain't right. The second conversation (after I'd sworn off getting hot chicken here), was initiated because I saw a woman actually temp testing the whole birds under the lamp (located right under the tenders). I thought, "finally, signs of quality control!" As we were speaking, a guy behind the counter pulled five bags of tenders off the heat and replaced them with fresh ones. The woman turned to me and said, "Those should be piping hot". I grabbed a bag, ran for the self-checkout (no line) and was in my car in under three minutes. Took a bite...room temp. And a giant finger of tendon (seen in attached picture). I give up - for good, this time. Chickens of the world rejoice. The last Hannaford I routinely shopped at sold hot foods that would burn your mouth, once in the car, if you didn't let them cool for a bit. So, while I don't know what this store's problem is, this is not a insurmountable condition of serving hot foods.

My husband and I have always been a bit shocked at the prices yes. So we have not shopped here much…read moreover the past few years. But. Not wanting to spend another $50 on lunch at the usual places in town we decided to grab some tuna salad today and eat outside. I bought an Asian salad with noodles and peanuts and carrots and incredible dressing. I swear, this was the best salad I've had in months if not years. I'm not kidding. Even the carrots stood out, were different. Delicious. The fennel is 2 or 3 times bigger than fennel at the grocery stores, $4.99 (usually about $3.99 at the others) 4 kinds of plantain chips. Fantastic low sugar pineapple soda from Mexico. Beautiful corn. After eating this food today at a picnic table over on Pemaquid Pond, we are doing a complete reversal and going to start shopping here a lot more. Yes it's expensive but vegetables do taste different, esp when they're not flown in from far away. And the attitudes of the employees is joyful and welcoming, such a good feeling. Good Job Rising Tide!

So I had this desire, but what could I do with it?I I got on line, and decided to call Rising Tide, I spoke with their front desk manager Kate, who is fabulous by the way, and within no time she jumped on board my bandwagon. They don't have a delivery service, but another wonderful employee said she would be happy to deliver my gift. Within an hour they put together a lovely gift bag for me. Fresh flowers, a bottle of red wine, an array of organic chocolates, a yummy creamy cheese, specialty crackers, grapes, and a lovely card. Kate even wrote my personal sentiments inside the card for me. In about one hour they took my desire to do something nice, and brought my wish into fruition. Talk about angels on earth!! Kate accidently forgot to charge me for the grapes, and wanted to pay for those herself. I can never say enough about the employees of Rising Tide Co-op and their hearts for service. Bravo my friends!! Thank you for all you do!! You deserve acknowlegement for just being you! You can bet if I ever make it back to your area, Rising Tide will be my first stop! I can't wait to meet you!

This rating is specific to the Deli which I've NEVER had a good experience with. Only reason we…read morereturn is for Boars Head meats which can't be found anywhere else. For starters, they won't permit you to pre-order over the phone and direct you to the app, which also die NOT have an option to order deli meats. When you arrive at the deli, there are typically 4-6 employees standing behind the counter and not one of them will bother to acknowledge your presence. Certainly never any niceties. Instead, you'll find them shooting the shit tucked in the corner snacking on deli meats and cheeses. After multiple minutes waiting, One will come and ask if you've been helped because it's not obvious enough that I'm standing there alone, staring at them and no one has lifted a finger. This deli has to be the penalty box for Bow St workers because they all act like they're in a cage waiting to be let out and want absolutely NOTHING to do with patrons. They'll literally let meat roll off the slicer into a bag that ultimately falls apart when trying to remove a slice. Today, I got home to find a half pound of turkey ends. These guys clearly intentionally try to ruin days. Owners, PAY ATTENTION. This is on YOU.

Shaws could be a really nice grocery store to shop at if they just made a few more improvements. What really turns me off from going there is they have started asking for everyones ID regardless of age, lets say I have a grey mustache and several bags and lines in my face. Stopped in this evening and picked up some ZERO alcohol beer and wine and they wanted my ID! I just left everything on the counter and they lost a sale of about 50 bucks, but they didn't seem to care at all. I do not want my license entered into a machine at all! This is enough to make me stop going here at all! Just when they take a couple steps forward, they go 3 back!

No thanks we aren't waiting in line on the of chance one of these people MIGHT knows how to do a return. After twenty years in retail myself, I understand staffing issues and training issues but NEVER have I been in a store this size where there wasn't someone competent enough to complete a basic return. There is evidently enough staff for the Team Lead Jordan and three others to stand at self checkout and chat amongst themselves, and for someone else to sit in the dark in customer service on her phone, and someone else to stand at the door and stare at everyone who walks out, but not enough staff to do a return.
