First let me preface that this review is for the fantastic turkey wrap; I have not used them for catering. While getting my hair done, I have noticed these friendly ladies stopping by the salon selling sandwiches & fruit to the staff. Typically, I have eaten or have reservations to eat somewhere, BUT this time, I had to make my appointment during lunch and I was HUNGRY. It was like magic. I was sitting there contemplating how I was going to squeeze in stopping for lunch in between all my errands, when POOF, 2 friendly ladies stop by. I asked, "what do you have?" My stylist told me he loves everything. They started listing some great options including a vegan sandwich. I chose the Turkey Wrap. Fresh Avocado, Lettuce, Tomato Turkey with a tasty pesto sauce. Yeah, I inhaled it. Its so hard to look ladylike when inhaling a sandwich. I could easily see me upping this to 5 stars, but I need to explore more of the menu. read more

The best salads and desserts! They catered a party I had in Los Angeles. I wish she could ship nationwide so other people I know could experience this goodness read more

I contacted Alex to order some food for a small party at my house. Here is the breakdown: Food: some things were great some were just ok. Kale salad amazing, curry chicken sandwich yummy, veggie sandwich just ok, the yum Yums really good, bacon wrapped dates good, lasagna (special) not good tasted like microwave lasagna. Service: Alex is so sweet and very nice. However, due to an emergency she had to reschedule my tasting which is fine. But when she delivered the food, I got the wrong number of items I had ordered and didn't get some other things I ordered. I then emailed her twice to ask her since I got charged for things I did not receive, zero response. That was a month ago now. So 3 for the food and 2 for zero response regarding being charged for things I didn't even eat. read more

Very good food - fresh, tasty, good quality; we so miss them coming to our salon in Old Town; our staff and clients alike. Perfect when it's so busy, we can't leave to get lunch. Actually, 4 1/2 star rating; the 1/2 off is for unpredictable arrival; some times too late in the afternoon and we've already gone elsewhere to get food :( Don't know why they stopped coming into this area; and no response to our contacts; maybe expanding to other areas? Anyway, miss all your smiling faces and yummy food. Wishing you all the best for 2018. Let us know if you ever come back to our area so we can let people know. Cheers! read more

Fresh colorful food that' delicious. Kale salad was excellent. Lots of flavor. Also very friendly energetic service.

The QUICHE!!!! If you're ever having a breakfast, lunch or dinner need, Yellow Tomato will seal the deal with this dish alone! While working on set for a TV One production, the quiche was the best part of the shoot!!!! You can't go wrong with a great owner and staff, but when you have a quiche like this to go with that, why look for another catering company! Might I add....I got to set late and ate the quiche at room temp, and got saved all over agin! read more

I definitely consider myself a sweet potato aficionado; anything sweet potato based, I am all about. When it comes to the sweet potato yum yums, you can't go wrong and the description is truly accurate - it's like a sweet potato cake had sex with a sweet potato pie and blessed the world with sweet potato yum yums . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read more

We hired Yellow Tomato Catering to cater our Thanksgiving dinner. The food was amazing and they were happy to accommodate restricted diets, vegan options, and child friendly choices. We started with a variety of appetizers. My favorites were the antipasto bites, bacon wrapped sweet potato fries, and spinach cheese puffs. The piece de resistance was the 22 lb. deep fried turkey which was absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented. We had all of the regular Thanksgiving fixings and sides like garlic mashed potatoes, sausage and herb stuffing, creamed corn, roasted veggies, sriracha mac & cheese, butternut squash curry soup, sautéed green beans, orange cranberry relish, monkey bread, citrus candied yams, and a fresh kale salad. Everything was cooked to perfection and we loved all of the unique flavors. We had their special holiday caramel cake and their famous sweet potato yum yums for dessert. The caramel cake was really moist and flavorful with caramel between the layers. The sweet potato yum yums were a decadent cross between a cake and a pie. Alex and staff arrived early to set up. Everything was hot and ready before our guests arrived. I did not have to lift a finger. She put everything in warmers so the food stayed perfect throughout the night. She created a beautiful presentation. She even provided take out containers for our leftovers. Alex returned bright and early the next morning to pick up her warmers, trays, and other items. It was the first time in years that I did not have to wash a single dish on Thanksgiving night. We loved the sweet potato yum yums so much that we ordered them for our Christmas dinner! 5 Stars for our amazing Thanksgiving feast! 5 Stars for accommodating our last minute yum yum dessert order for Christmas! read more

We used Alexandria Dotson and her Yellow Tomato Catering Company for the annual meeting of our nonprofit organization. This group is FUSSY and I was a little hesitant, but everyone LOVED their lunches. To make it easy she sent me an e-mail with her menu. I forwarded this to my group and each person selected the box lunch they wanted. Alexandria delivered it on time with the quality and quantities promised. In this day and age of poor customer service, that alone would have made me rate her a 3 or 4 but the fresh food, well prepared was a bonus! I'll use Yellow Tomato again... and you should too. read more

I experienced the Yellow Tomato Catering when I attended an off site meeting at a home in Pasadena. The service was great; delivered on time and with everything we needed to enjoy a great meal. I had the tuna sandwich and really impressed when I opened my lunch box and found the tuna packaged separately from the bread! Great idea... No soggy sandwich. Highly recommended. read more

They came to my job on Friday at De Lacey. A lot people told me it was pricey but I decided to take a look and i bought the outstanding kale salad WOW and then the Quinoa with cranberries and coconut and then their pasta salad WOW everything was worth the price. I don't mind paying what's fair for quality food and taste. I'm definitely wait for them next time at work LOVE IT their Vegan options caught my heart! read more

For my work's end of the year celebration, we used Yellow Tomato Catering for nearly 100 people. Ordering was fairly easy, however the quality wasn't so great. Overall, our employees were not thrilled. The food got cold pretty quickly (chaffing dishes were not included, or even offered), every dish was loaded with black pepper which made them too spicy for several people, the chicken quarters were dry and large but didn't provide sturdy enough large fork/knife to cut them with and we don't have any in supplies in office. There were no soup bowls or spoons and not enough ladles to serve with. This was an end of the year celebration and this catering experience did not meet our standards. I sent out an email to them, expressing my concerns, but I have yet to get an email back. I don't think I will ever order from them again. read more

The food is delightful. My favorite is the carmel cake, the fruit salad and the tuna croissant. Getting back to the cake - I had a half a slice that my daughter and I were sharing. I began to at the cake while driving, but had to pull over and park because it was so so. The cake was so good, I decided to order a whole cake for this weekend. I also will get on their family meal delivery because I work so late, I can't get my family a healthy meal when I get home. read more

Today I decided to purchase food from Alexandria and her Yellow Tomato Catering Company. I was told that she uses mostly organic produce which is great since I am a health nut. She has been delivering food to my office building for quit some time, but I never bought anything. Everyone in the office said her food was excellent, so I gave it a try today. I had a hard time deciding what to buy since everything looked so good. I ended up getting a PASTA SALAD, a SWEET POTATOE PIE, and the OATMEAL RAISEN COOKIES. I cannot believe how delicious every bit of it was. My favorite item was the SWEET POTATOE PIE followed by the PASTA SALAD. All 3 items only set me back $11, which was fairly reasonable for the quality of the ingredients and the savory flavor of the food. The zesty dressing for the pasta salad was superb to any other italian dressing I have had. You must try this food. I think anything you get from Alexandria will taste great. I look forward to the next item to try. I also think she does catering and think it would be well worth the your money to have her cater any event since she has vegetarian items as well as items for carnivores. read more

I have tried everything on her menu and there is not one thing that has disappointment me. Her soups are delicious, the sandwiches are all so good. My favorite is the Veggie sandwich. I know it sounds as if it would be bland but it is so good and satisfying that the protein is not even missed. Her fruit with mint is so refreshing and those Yum Yum's are to die for. My top picks, Veggie Sandwich, Tomato bisque and potatoes and leak soup, the wraps and her kale salad is awesome. Warning, if you try the Yum Yum's you will be hooked. They sale like hotcakes at our center. The price is reasonable since her food is organic and she delivers to the office space. I love her food so much I always buy extra and take it home for my family dinner. read more
