Broad Axe - Buffalo Crispy Chicken Sandwich with fries. Spicy and good!

I love fried chicken sandwiches, and I love crabcakes, so the Chesapeake Sandwich jumped out the menu--a combo sandwich of both!... and $15? Sign me up. The chicken was super moist on the inside, crispy and well seasoned on the outside. The crabcake was almost all crabmeat as well, which was delicious! My wife got a chicken taco salad, which came in a tortilla bowl and was also very good (with very well cooked chicken on top). My only complaint: the fries were a bit under-done. They also do 5oz samples of beer on draft, which was very nice for when you don't want a whole drink.

These wings were no joke, I did the buffalo wild wings inferno challenge twice without milk, it took 3 cups of milk to get through 5 of the 8 and I tapped out. The thing is, they aren't JUST insanely hot, they are also INSANELY flavorful. Hotheads eat your heart out, order these and you will not be disappointed. These 100% need to be a challenge. 8 in 10 minutes, no milk? The wings at Buffalo wild wings look like they were taken from baby chicks in comparison to what I got. Contact me when they become a challenge, I will gladly make the 1 hour drive to try it out, even if I fail!

Juicy, lightly breaded and their sauces taste like my grandma whipped them up We both had burgers medium rare and they were cooked PERFECTLY! Loved the fresh toppings. As we sat and waited forever for our food we saw reserved signs all around us. Seemed like an event was going on. The tavern filled up and everyone was staring at us like we weren't supposed to be there including the staff. Our hostess seated us at a round table toward the back. It was quite obvious they needed more seats and it was awkward even sitting there. Food was ok. Fryer oil tasted old. $25 for crab Mac and cheese that had a slight hint of a crab taste. Ordered a medium burger and it was well done. Ordered a pretzel with cheese sauce and the cheese was off color/old/ burnt. The deviled eggs were fantastic. When we finished our dinner we were waiting to see a waiter to get the check and no one was available so I walked up to the bar and paid. After i paid the hostess put a reserved sign on our table while we were sitting there and said "no rush" I don't usually write reviews. But I wanted to have a nice night with my wife and daughter and it was ruined

I am not sure to properly discuss this restaurant. The waitresses were polite and the food cheap…read more They know their customers as these elderly folk are the ones that visit this place. In the beginning, you can tell the type of restaurant as you arrive just by the way it looks from the outside. Upon entering you'll immediately know its type and at what end of the life expectancy the restaurant may be in. As we drove into the parking lot, there was one thought that immediately struck me. As we entered the restaurant, I knew it was the elderly person's restaurant and the customer base confirmed this. This alone does not mean much, but generally it means the restaurant is likely on its downside of life. Was the place clean? It was as clean as it could be for not being updated, but I did notice dust on the ceiling. From I saw, a burger was the only thing I would order. My wife ordered something else that she regretted. My burger was good enough which is why I selected it. I honestly have no complaints. My wife's crab cake sandwich tasted old to me. I was guessing a frozen patty. I wouldn't eat the fries, so I can't say much about that, but many restaurants re-use the oil which breaks down, so a no from me. What killed it for me and one I could not get a photograph was the single cockroach crawling underneath an elderly couple, so taking a photo of it was out of the question. I lost track of where it went, so either everyone knows of the roaches and this couple just swept it aside with their feet or it was able to crawl beyond them. At this point, I was done with it all. I looked over to where a sodastand rests and saw an old bait trap of some type that looks like it may be for mice. It was quite dirty there. I can confirm the dirt but not the trap as it could be a box with a rectangular opening on one side. I would like to think the ownership would want to clean the place up, but my guess they're like tired and the only business they get are the older crowd that they know, so why change? When these customers die off, the owner may just quit. It is my fault for going and staying for the food when the warning signs were there. With the dirt and roach, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
