And after falling in love with her work, I contacted her to do a maternity shoot for my growing belly :) We booked out a few months, for when I would be between 7-8 months pregnant. My boyfriend and I had SUCH a fun time shooting with Melissa. She is an absolute sweetheart and made us both so comfortable. We never once got bored or felt awkward. She listened to what we wanted (my requests were far from demanding, we just wanted a few nice black & white prints.. and we both have tattoos so we wanted to look as tasteful as possible.. the rest was in her creative hands!) and she worked masterfully- quickly & precisely- behind that camera! When we did our ordering session, we had the hardest time picking out just a few to print.. but we finally narrowed it down to 6 favorites and we are so happy with the quality of the matted prints (I've got them all framed, they're just waiting to go up on the walls!) We have just scheduled our Baby's sessions! I'm not looking forward to that ordering session because I already know we are going to want them all haha! We absolutely love her and are so glad we were able to meet her. She has a special eye for beauty. Our engagement photos were on a super chilly, grey day in Boston. Lauren took us to Faneuil Hall, where she had never shot before, and spent time scouting it ahead of time in the cold before we even showed up. During the subsequent shoot, it felt so leisurely, she made us so comfortable even when posing with hundreds of tourists in the background. I think she inherently can pick up on the personalities of couples and really try to cater her shooting style to them to make them feel comfortable. When our engagement photos came back, we were absolutely stunned and couldn't wait to have her again for Wedding Day. The wedding itself was a blur, but I remember every moment with Lauren and Wayne, our second shooter. They were a dream to work with, blending into the background and capturing moments that I didn't even know existed! Some of our favorite photos were close-ups of guests' expressions during the wedding; she really knows how to capture the warmth, personality, and small moments. It's incredible that Lauren is still relatively new to the business given the quality of her skills. I just know she's going to a big name in wedding photography someday. I stumbled upon Lauren after seeing photos she shot of a styled shoot that my hairdresser had…read moreparticipated in. When I reached out to her to see if she would be willing to take on a multi-family photo shoot (the families of me and my three siblings) in the hopes to getting a great group shot to surprise our mom with for the holidays, Lauren did not hesitate to respond with enthusiasm and great ideas for how to structure such a shoot. From the get-go she responded to every email quickly and I felt confident with moving forward with her and this somewhat complicated project. As part of her process, she also scheduled a phone call with me to learn about what types of photos we hoped to capture and to learn about each of my siblings and our children so that she would know the names and priorities of this massive group of clients! The day of the shoot, at Piers Park in East Boston, Lauren arrived early and was already set up and ready to shoot when our session time started. She immediately addressed each of my siblings, their significant others and their children by name- her memory for all the information I gave her on the planning call was amazing! It made the shoot feel so personal from the beginning. The shoot involved five children (a 9 month old, 12 month old, 15 month old and two 3 year olds) which had the potential to be a real circus. The kids all took turns melting down, but Lauren never lost her cool and kept coming up with different ways to engage them and to get different pairs of (non-screaming) children together. Her quick thinking and positivity really made a difference to our experience. After the shoot, Lauren delivered us a full gallery of photos within two weeks of the shoot date, as promised in her contract. The photos are AMAZING. She has a real talent. You would never have been able to guess from the photos that it was a gray, cloudy afternoon and that the children had been in meltdown mode. We had so many potential shots to pick from to give to our mom. I cannot recommend Lauren enough for photography- not just family photography but weddings too. I got married two years ago and paid a really renowned photographer to do our pictures, and I am not nearly as happy with those as I am with the ones Lauren took. We cannot wait to engage her for more photos as our little one grows up. She is organized, responsive, talented and just an awesome person!

It seems that Sam's specialty is non-traditional weddings, and he did an awesome job! We met with him a couple of times before the wedding to go over ideas for poses and pictures and to finalize a timeline. He's professional and polite, but fun and friendly, too. By the end, we felt more like friends than his clients On the day of the wedding, he made sure to get all of the poses on the list and was flexible enough to go with the flow when things just didn't work out like we planned (and let's be honest, things rarely go according to plan). Many, many of our guests mentioned to us afterwards how impressed they were with Sam's work...and that was even before we saw the pictures. We got access to our online gallery about 3 weeks after the wedding, and the pictures are phenomenal, just drop dead gorgeous! He got all of the important shots, but even got close up pictures of all of the decorations, too. His attention to detail is really to be commended. Sam provided excellent customer service, with prompt communication via email. He made us feel very comfortable in front of the camera, and guided us on how to pose. Initially, it felt awkward (mainly because I've never done this before!) but Sam clearly knew how to position us such that the photos looked good yet natural. All the photos that I felt I appeared awkward, actually turned out to be quite beautiful. Sam was always able to capture moments with his photography - this added to the "natural" non-rehearsed feel of the photos. He captured a lot of really fun moments - real emotion is conveyed through his photographs. The photos themselves are beautiful!! Sam really has an eye for color and lighting.
