Lovely Valentine was a great to work with. We hired them for our engagement photos, photography, and video for our wedding. We had noticed their work from various friends. From our initial meeting with them, we knew they were professional and easy to work with. Their portfolio of work assured us that they would capture our special day in the right light. They were easy to reach by email and replied quickly whenever we had questions. Our engagement photo session was held at Arnold Arboretum in the early fall. Emilie was easy going and made us feel comfortable. She captured the spring season beautifully and we were very satisfied with the outcome. Lovely Valentine was an absolute pleasure to work with. Emilie, Jovan and the studio pup Huxley welcomed us into their cozy studio, gave us a tour for our initial meeting and calmed all our nerves. They were our first and last photographer meeting. We knew they were the photographer and videographer for us because you could tell they knew what they were doing, cared about the process and made us feel completely at ease. LV had to be one of the easiest decisions that we made during our whole wedding planning process. They were great at communicating, organized and their portfolio was an amazing mix of classic elegance, yet modern vibes. Emilie helped us create a wedding day timeline for our photos with the schedule that we were working with. On the day of the wedding, Emilie and Jovan were punctual and got straight to work lightening the mood as, surprisingly, we weren't all natural models. We even got a bunch of aerial shots in the video which were a super fun surprise. Finally, when the time came for us to choose music for our video, Emilie provided me with a playlist as I was completely overwhelmed with the music choices. Every step was facilitated by their professionalism and responsiveness and I know that our wedding would not have been the same without them. The day flew by in a blur, but they captured all the greatest memories that we could cherish forever. I now have one of those tear jerker wedding videos that I was always so envious of! Where to begin??? My (now) husband and I were having a very small, very intimate wedding, immediate family only and it was in our front yard. Our 3 year old daughter was going to be the flower girl and our wiley 18 month old son... well he was going to be held by Grampa, lol. I truly wanted it to be as simple as possible because I wanted it to be more about our love for eachother than about all the showiness of weddings these days and we simply didn't have thousands of dollars to spend. I wasn't even going to hire a photorgrapher! I decided I would look into the photographer thing a bit and when I spoke to Jovan, and he was SO enthusiatic about doing the photography, I couldn't say no. He even offered to help with the invitations! The day of the wedding, Jovan and Emilie showed up exactly when they said they would, which I really appreciated. I was upstairs (still in the shower!) when they arrived, I am perpetually late! But I had no idea what was going on downstairs and that's where the photography magic began! Jovan and Emilie captured all the precious moments leading up to the wedding, our kids getting ready, guests arriving (all 8 of them, lol), but these were the things that had I not had a photographer, and a exceptional ones like Jovan and Emilie, I would have mssed out on the magic and excitement going on while I was getting ready. Now that I was out of the shower and starting to get ready, Emilie came upstairs to start photographing that part. I was DREADING this part. I'm one of those people who loathes having my picture taken, and loathes looking at pictures of myself. But, Emilie and Jovan made me feel so comfortable and promised me that I would love my pictures and so I conceded to having photos taken while I was getting ready.I am SO HAPPY that they convinced me to let them take those photos. Not to toot my own horn, but they are GORGEOUS photos, I look pretty, so pretty! And I know that is 100% thanks to Emilie and Jovan. Every bride wants to remember themselves looking beautiful every step of the way on her wedding day, and Jovan and Emilie gave me that gift. Even better, is getting to show these photos to my daughter one day when she is getting married! It was time for the wedding to begin, our guests were outside waiting for me to come out, we queued the music and I opened the door to walk out, took one look at my husband...... and burst in to tears, sobbing tears. Well, as we all know, no one looks pretty when they're crying, especially in full sobs. Well somehow, Jovan and Emilie managed to make me look beautiful throughout the the entire ceremony, sobbing tears and all. More importantly they captured every endearing look exchanged between my husband and I. My husband has a way of looking at me, that makes me just melt, and they captured that! I couldn't believe it when I got the pictures, but there was that look, the look that I thought no one else notices, and that if I could keep it forever I would, and now I can! I have it! After the ceremony, Jovan suggested we go someplace offsite to do some shots of just my husband and I. I was hesitant, because I didn't really think that it would matter where the photos were taken. But once again.... Jovan was right! We went to a lake near our house that was partally frozen over. In those moments of photography at the lake, Jovan and Emilie managed to capture the intense love between my husband and I, which is something I never would have thought could be captured in a photo, but there it is! Jovan and Emilie stayed for the entirety of the wedding and reception and I'm so glad they did. When it was time for everyone to go home, we sent wish lanterns up into the nght sky.The photos of the wish lanterns are simply magical. A few weeks after the wedding Jovan and Emilie put together a wedding book for us, something I always swore was a waste of money, until now! It was the most perfect collection and arrangement of photos from our wedding all in a BEAUTIFUL book which is now on our mantle and I look through it almost every day to relive the most wonderful day of my life. Jovan and Emilie have a knack for photographing the things that matter: exchanged looks, glances, hands held, the funny moments, the serious ones and they do all this and somehow they still manage to just blend. They they immortalize one of the most precious days of your life and therefore, they become family. I was so lucky to come across Jovan and Emillie from Lovely Valentine Photography - to provide a photo booth for my daughter's wedding on July 12th. I contacted them last minute as we had had a nightmare with another vendor and ended up cancelling their photo booth. I took a chance and could not have been happier! Their photo booth is an open air style - which was different and fun! The images they captured were wonderful and they made a beautiful album that captured special moments and the fun that was had by all everyone! I loved working with Emilie and her team! We felt so comfortable with her during our first meeting and immediately agreed she would be perfect for capturing our special day. We decided not to do engagement photos but spend the money on the photobooth and album instead. The photobooth was amazing and every one had so much fun taking pictures! Throughout the entire process Emilie and Jovan made everything so easy. We decided to use LV for our engagement pictures and on our wedding day! We used LV on our wedding day for photography, videography, and we had a photo booth. Emilie, Jovan, and Christine were all there that day and I could not be happier with how the day went. The venue where we got married had construction across the street where we had originally intended to take pictures. These two are wonderful! They went hiking with to the top of a Mountain to get the kind of shots we desired! They are friendly, creative, and very easy going. But when it comes to work, they are very professional, and definitely have the eye to capture the most amazing pictures. A little perfectionism might have you standing in one pose for a few shots, but that is exactly what you want went shooting pictures you will be looking at for the rest of your lives. The turn around was very good. In almost a week we had some pictures to look at. After that, new pictures constantly kept coming. We are so excited to have them do out wedding! We hired Lovely Valentine for a photobooth for a corporate event - I could not recommend them enough! Everyone we interacted with was friendly, professional and helpful throughout the whole process. They worked with our group to make custom photo paper so that our guests could take home a piece of the evening as a momento. The quality of the photography was incredible - clear, crisp and vibrant. My husband and I planned and executed a big wedding ourselves; I altered my own dress, and we even had home-made mead. We wanted a photographer that would be able to capture every little detail that we had poured our hearts into. Lovely Valentine did that and impressed us, capturing everything we had expected (the shoes, the bouquet), along with other things we didn't even think of, like an artistic shot of the band instruments set up and waiting to be played. The photos were artful and classy, and the editing done on them was perfect. Everyone looked beautiful and somehow in every picture the little things like embroidery and tone on tone patterns were brought to life. He also had a great balance between posed photos and photos taken of moments as they actually happened.
