Brian was our driver, and he was prompt, very nice and professional, and even pointed out some things I didn't know, and I grew up in Peoria. I will be in the Peoria area from June 30 thru July 10, but unfortunately my flight out is at 6AM on a Sunday morning! Based on the only other review here for River City Cab, I decided to call them and get a quote for the fare to the airport if they picked me up at 4AM..... I am calling from Pacific coast time zone, so my call to them was at 1:15AM their time on a Sunday/Monday (obviously not a great time to call and get a quote, but only time I had to do it!) Missy was friendly, professional, knew exactly where my pick up location was and was not hesitant to give me a very reasonable quote for the trip. I'm already impressed even before I get there!

The boardwalk is a lot older and more worn now, but it's still nice to stop, and there's a vantage point to look out on the river. I used to see beaver activity around the boardwalk, but not recently. The marina also of course offers a place to launch your boat for a fee, boat storage, RV storage and they do offer camping. I believe the three shed/cabins added several years ago are available for rent as well. When we drove through on our most recent visit, they'd added some beach camp sites with power. There's a playground, fire pits for the campsites and picnic tables.

It was 15$ a night, there's a fire ring, tables, and very clean bathrooms/showers. If you have a primitive spot and you can't find a spot #, you can just set up in an open spot on the beach. It's a 2 min drive to a gas station/liquor store and 10 mins away from walmart. Such a cool campground!

Same receptiveness from awesome front staff and housekeeping. Keep up the good work. Same opinion of the breakfast, but they do try with what they have. If only they could figure out how to not burn the bacon which we figure is the "already cooked" kind, which they refry to heat; invariably hard. My suggestion: I find heating in a microwave on DEFROST is often the best solution, even to reheat pizza. No nuking. You shouldn't go hungry from the offered selection but you may have difficulty getting bread or bagel toasted. Guests constantly complain about it and it has never gotten fixed. Yes it's annoying.
