A cabbie was ordered by my daughter's medical provider. I do not know if they told Yellow Cab that she would be accompanied with her SD. However, after the cabbie arrived and told her that he didn't allow any dogs in his car, he called dispatch and the supervisor called back on my daughter's phone. We both tried to explain that her SD would not be in a carrier as she is a large dog. So, then he stated that large dogs have been a problem with them. I tried to nicely explain this is illegal. He would not budge, but my daughter was able to get a friend to her appointment and called the provider to let them no she would be late. I called back to talk to the supervisor, Kenneth Lewis, after I researched how to proceed if they still insisted that they were right with their policy and it isn't illegal. He still ignored my education on this issue. I have filed complaints with Yellow Cab Co and the federal justice department that deals with ADA illegalities. It was a 6 min drive.. he never started the meter once we got to the tru he stops and says "$19 it's a flat rate" worst ish ever. Uber was only $9.78 for the same trip.. then I tried to call the company to complain and they sent me to voice mail 5 times. I guess you pay for convenience but damn. I gave them a ONE star only because there's nothing else to give. I called at 3o'clock for a cab and it's now 6 o'clock. No one has picked up or arrived at our hotel. The lady says that they can pick and choose who they want to pick up. I was kicked out of the cue for pickup and no one even called me to let me know anything. Notice the pic attached how many times I called for follow up. Initially the lady told me 5-20 minutes. Every time I called in to check she told me 6-7 minutes out. It is Valentine's Day. I am surprise I survived the ride. From the moment I made the call to the dispatch I started having a bad feeling about it. They send a mini van even though is just 1 PAX, but that's not an issue. The issue was the conditions of the vehicle. I'm surprise the driver was even allowed to drive such a relict. The inside and outside were beyond dirty. Use at your own peril. I was desperate since Uber/Lyft aren't working, but it's not worth it. On Sunday, I scheduled a 5:30am pick up for Monday so I could make my 7:00am flight. They didn't show up nor did they pick up my calls until 6. It was then that I was informed "their pickup isn't guaranteed" and their "drivers don't work on a schedule". Holy smoke... and I mean lots of smoke. The driver seems to have moved in into his cab, smell of smoke indicate that he probably closed the doors when he does it and I could only assume he has since he acquired the car. Stinky as hell; I'm not a germaphobe but this cab made me one; I was afraid to touch anything. I mean if a crime is committed inside that cab; I'm afraid that forensic would prefer that the cab burned before they have to check fingers prints or something in it. It was disgusting... Definitely a no-no for this one; I will try a different company next time. Besides, I believe they charge the same rate. So bad it beggars belief! Never EVER use these people. Don't even contemplate it, not for a moment!! We called for a late-night cab to get us home from a busy downtown Savannah street, and the dispatcher told me a car was on the way before hanging up. A while later I call back to ask where the cab will be, how long it will be, how will the driver know us, etc. - and she claims to have NO RECORD of my earlier call! So, baffled, I order a cab again, and once more she promises that a cab is on the way, and the driver will call me. Almost half an hour later, with no cab in sight and a phone fast running out of battery, we managed to intercept a driver from Savannah Taxis, who was picking up some other people and kindly called another colleague to come and get us. Twice now we used the new app to schedule a ride. Both to events that were time sensitive. NEVER AGAIN! The first time they were dropping off a fare downtown when they said they were going to be at our place. Then, when they dropped off the fare another guy apparnetly jumped in and said "I'll give you $xx to take me to xx" and they guy didn't say "Off duty" or "I am already late for my next ride" he just drove the man across town. On the app we saw him driving right in front of our house!! My husband ran out in the rain to confront him, but the guy was already in the car. There was nothing to do and dispatch wasn't answering so we couldn't get another car. It took over 30 minutes for our "10 minute" wait. We were late to our event. A bike taxi would have been faster. Jump to try two. You can't mess up two times, right?! Wrong. I called at midnight and asked why we hadn't been assigned a driver for our 12:15 pickup. I got "we have plenty of taxis out tonight" and "ma'am, we know how to schedule taxis." At 12:12 I finally saw that we had a driver assigned on the other side of town! We live downtown so I know there were plenty of drivers by us. I'm pretty sure the dispatcher wanted to say "ma'am we know how to schedule taxis to make you late for whatever you are going to." I feel like that driver selection was deliberate. We were picked up about 12:25 and had thankfully built in a lot of buffer time. The taxi got there and I went to get in the backseat with my husband and the driver had the seat so far back that I could not fit my legs back there. So I went up front. While up there the bell kept dinging for the seat belt so I thought I had triggered it because of my weight in the front seat. But even after I put my seat belt on it kept going off because the driver didn't have his on. I assume because he was either too large or too lazy. He also proceeded to smoke an electronic cig. I know there are no fumes, but it just seemed a bit unprofessional. As was his phone convos including talking about a topic he couldn't deal with because he had customers and also a plan to go pick up his friend/relative being released from jail. All in all, this company has proved how little they care about their customers and how they are just out to make a buck. read more

This company also goes by "Yellow Cab of Savannah", "Checker Cab", "Yellow Cab" and "Yellow Cab #5" It's the same company; same numbers. Same horrible people and service. They have two websites: http://savannahyellowc... and http://yellowcabofsava.... I have been late to numerous doctor appointments because of this company. Dispatch is often rude. Many of the drivers do not know the Savannah area at all and get lost or take long, out of the way routes. They are not time conscious and are often late or far too early for appointments, making the passenger feel rushed. I've encountered many drivers who've given me problems about paying with a card, some of whom even demanded of me to go to a Wachovia for cash. (while still charging me extra for the Wachovia detour). I have called their dispatch a few times to ask about this. All drivers are supposed to accept card payments and are not supposed to give the passenger problems regarding it. And lastly, I have encountered many racist drivers. I am a white woman, and have had at least three different drivers who felt it was okay to make numerous racist statements about black people. That is not okay. I took a Yellow Cab from the Savannah Inn B&B to the Savannah/Hilton Head airport recently, & I had THE best & nicest cab driver!! He drove carefully, and he was very engaging and funny. He told me about Savannah, & we shared stories about living in cold cities. He said he was from either Lincoln or OK City (can't recall), but it was probably the best cab ride I've ever had. DO NOT USE THIS CAB COMPANY! In Savannah, we called a day ahead for our ride to the airport for 2:15 pm. We had to cal three times to find out where our cab was. It finally arrived one-half hour later (after reading so many horrific reviews from others here, we are BLESSED that we got the cab at all!). But here is the deal...we called TWICE to verify the cost and both times were told $28-$33 to the airport. The cab arrived and I am not exaggerating when I say the cab stunk, it was absolutely filthy with trash strewn about, the air conditioner did not work (hot Savannah day!!), one of the front windows rattled and did not close, then he finally opened the windows for some air! Plus, when he arrived, he merely popped the trunk and sat in the car while we loaded our luggage ourselves. He did get out to close the trunk. Fortunately, we made it to the airport on time, but he charged us $40. Upon getting home, we called the cab company to let them know of the treatment and cost and she actually LIED to us and said that she advised the cost COULD be more...but she DID NOT because we called TWICE to verify the cost to make sure we had a enough cash to pay the driver. Fortunately we barely did. She also started yelling at me as if I were the problem. I searched to find management contact information on their website. There is nothing to be found. If you are in Savannah, please have the FRONT desk of your hotel make calls to get you to the airport on time....they seem to do better. read more

Called for a cab. Phone rang 8-10 times before putting me on hold. Operator answered fairly quickly after that. After waiting 25 minutes for the cab, I called back to ask how long it would be. "They are on their way to you now", I was told. I again asked how long because we were going to miss our reservation if the cab wasn't to our destination pretty quick. "We're busy, it's the first of the month!" was all she would say. I cancelled the cab. I'm not really sure what the first of the month has to do with anything, but I'm not going to use your service if your operator is snarky and can't answer a simple question. If you're so busy it takes more than a half hour to reach an address that is a mile from the river, then you should tell people that when they order the cab. read more

I don't take a cab very often but I was very impressed with the convenience of this cab company. The cab we took was very clean and the driver was accommodating and let us choose the music on the radio. I realized, some time after being dropped off, that my cell phone was missing. Using my sister's phone, I called the cab dispatch and they said my phone had been located. They even offered to come by house (at no charge) to deliver my phone to me. My wife called and was told a cab would be there in about 5 minutes. My friend drops me off after work and I'm like "Wheres the cab babe?", to which she responds "I just called them to ask them the same thing. They never even sent someone out. Called for a pickup and was quoted a timeframe of 30 to 45 minutes. We were still stranded an hour later and luckily got another ride from elsewhere. We got up the next morning and still had not received a call back. If you can't do the job then tell me that you can't do it. Horrible customer services to leave someone hanging like that just because you feel that you can because you get better fares. Unreliable and dishonest. This behavior can get people killed depending on where and for how long they are stranded. This company needs to go out of business. read more

I picked 1 star because you cannot review without any stars. Out of 49 Yelp reviews they have a 1.5 star rating & I am sure it would be much lower if you could review without using the star system. I called dispatch on 3/30/22 @ 4:17pm to arrange for a pickup @ Hyatt Sav. the next morning, 7:30am. I spoke with Samantha & gave her my name. She said they would text me the next day & say they were enroute. We were outside waiting at 7:10am the next morning & since I had not gotten a text I decided to call & confirm our ride. I called at 7:16am & reached a woman with an accent who I later found out was 'probably Peitra'. She would not give me her name. I asked if they were enroute & she said they had already picked me up. This was 14 mins.before they were supposed to arrive & i certainly was not in the cab. I told her I was out front of the hotel waiting. She started getting 'short' with me & told me to hang on. She began talking to someone, & then back & forth with me, & once I wasnt sure who she was talking to so I asked her 'what ?" and she snapped at me "I AM TALKING TO YOUR PASSENGER". I told her that was impossible as 'my passenger' was still sitting there with me waiting. She then raised her voice even more & said "I WAS CHECKING WITH THE CAB & HE HAS ALREADY MADE THE PICKUP !" I had to pull the phone away from my ear due to her raising her voice. I said 'please dont yell' & she said she was not yelling, that I was yelling (???). I asked when she would send another & she said she could not tell me when she would have cab available. I told her that I needed to get to the airport so I didnt miss my flight & SHE got angry. She started raising her voice again & said she had NO way of knowing when she would have another cab available. I asked if there was any estimation & she got angrier & said I would just have to wait & see. Again, due to her volume, I had the phone about a foot from my face & everyone out there could hear her. I tried to ask who they would pick up 20 mins early without even asking if it was the correct party & that pissed her off. She began yelling, I yelled back at that point, told her that maybe if she was so unhappy in her job that she should find another occupation that would make her happier. She was then yelling something & I didnt even have the phone near my ear anymore & I exchanged a couple of nasty words & hung up on her. The Hyatt desk clerk called another cab who arrived within minutes & in talking to HIM on the way to the airport he said "oh that was probably Peitra", Evidently she has a nasty reputation & from some of the other reviews I see here on Yelp it has probably also been her with many other customers as well.
