I order service Monday (36) hours in advance for a ride Tuesday morning at 8am so could . arrive for some scheduled surgery at 9am 12 miles away. The driver called me at &{51 and said it was too far for him & another driver would call me. They never did. I called them 4 tomes before 8"30 am and was told another would be dispatched. I then had Uber called and they came within 10 minutes, thank God. Worst customer service I have ever experienced, apparently advanced requests are ignored. This review specifically covers two incidents, on separate days, with Yellow Cab relating to handicap accessible rides. Our party contains a gentleman who is in a scooter and cannot transfer, so a van is the only option for him. On Wednesday, we waited over an hour for a cab at around 2:00PM in the afternoon. Upon arrival, we loaded up and began traveling towards an intermediate destination on our way to our hotel. As we approached the intermediate destination, our driver informed us that he would have to leave us their so that he could "pick up a regular". So, we were literally dumped off with no ride to our hotel. Fortunately, a replacement was dispatched reasonably soon, but this behavior was totally unacceptable. Two days later, a request was made around noon for a 5:30PM pickup for airport transport. The pickup point was literally less than 3 miles from the airport, so the trip should have been a slam dunk, and they had over five hours to arrange scheduling. When 5:30 came, there was no cab. We continued to call and wait, but alas, no cab. After an hour, we made alternate arrangements. I advised my colleague to contact the San Antonio Taxi Commission with regards to these incidents; it's wholly unacceptable to behave in this way. read more

I never use a Yellow- Cab Taxi but today I did for the first time. It was somewhat of a good experience and the taxi driver was a young hindu guy in his 20s who also spoke english and some spanish. one thing I always new but never used was to never keep a conversation with the driver when you are on the clock because they will charge you ASAP. I paid $17 and change for about a 20 minute ride. they charge you every few minutes so if you know a short-cut that the driver does not know when they enter the destination you should let them know about it and ask for them to take it, that is guaranteed to save you some money by the time you get there. for some reason the driver was interested in my finger nails which were long at the time. he said he would love to have them. he was willing to cut them off my hands and was ready to give me a nail clipper while he was driving so he could keep them for himself. I didnt give them to him. thats the first time someone ever wanted my finger nails as a keepsake because his own nails wont grow out like that. I would never recommend you take a yellow cab but if you have to than make sure you have absolutely no choice but to take one because they well nickel and dime you the first chance they get by taking their sweet time getting to your location without short-cuts. read more

They are horrible. Three x, I've called to use their wheelchair van for my mother. 1st time was great. 2nd time they showed up in a 6-passenger van and couldn't get the correct one out in time. Today, even tho I called both the automated AND then called AND spoke to a representative, they screwed up. Called and they said they didn't have an end destination. When I told her that I certainly had given that, they said they didn't have a driver. When I asked to speak to a manager, they put me on hold until I hung up. Don't use them EVER! I am ready to pull my hair out and have a complete "sweet 16" moment. Ever since the city decided to pull out Uber and Lyft here in San Antonio, this has been a nightmare. May I add that it hasn't even been a week since this was implemented. To the city of San Antonio, I don't understand how you couldn't jump on board to have them here in the city like any other major city. I have been waiting for the past 45 minutes and still counting, as I'm typing this. I genuinely should've walked to my destination as I would've made it already. Thankfully the only thing keeping me sane is the fact that I'm at FreeTail's Brewing Spot on S Presa (that review will come up in the future, it's amazing!). I was quoted a quick ten minutes and told my cab would arrive. As a courtesy I waited an additional fifteen minutes from my arrival time because this is San Antonio and you never know what can happen. Any San Antonian knows downtown can be a little hectic, especially during Fiesta/First Friday season. Once the timeframe had passed I decided to call Yellow Cab again and guess what... apparently my order was never inputed! What in the world do you mean?! I spent about ten minutes alone waiting for your "Oregon Trail" speed of grabbing my information and verifying my location. "No I don't know if this is by I37 or cherry street, there's a reason why I'm calling you as I don't know this area." Would you expect a tourist to know where they are? I think not. I may live here but I don't always know my sense of direction, ask anyone who knows me as they can confirm this statement. Well after I had to spend another five minutes providing my information the second time, I was told by the operator that hopefully my order gets placed through and everything works out. Are you serious?? Since when did a service based company decide playing Russian Roulette especially one like Yellow Cab. They said someone would be there in 10 minutes. At 7:52 we heard from a driver who was on his way. He arrived at 8:02 -- 17 minutes late! Unacceptable for a pre-scheduled ride to the airport. He placed the blame on zTrip for having just contacted him, but we're not sure. Then when we tried to pay with a credit card he asked for cash. Never again! I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

I think the veteran drivers and dispatchers have bailed and that the remaining folks are either uncommitted or unreliable. After this latest experience I'm done. I'm switching to Uber. I called to order a cab at take me to the airport at 9. after waiting 30 minutes I called the dispatcher to get an update and eta. They couldn't reach the driver (cab 8). I asked if we could find another driver to pick me up. They said they had lined up another driver who was 5mins away. The day of my travel the cabbie called at our gate and said there were TWO other cabs ahead of him and he was unable to get through our gate.Seems they were fighting for the fare. Yellow cab lost a dedicated customer. I have been using yellow cab for pickups to the airport for the last dozzen rides. The last four of my pickups I have experienced issues with the cab drivers scheduled to pick me up. i have always called and reserved my pickup in order to avoid any last minute issues of not having cabs available when i need to get picked up. I usually have a very early pickups around 5am and give myself at least an hour and a half to two hours in order to have plenty of time to get past airport security. The last four pickups had been at least 15 minutes late and have cancelled the cabs because of it's tardiness. I have had to resort to last minute Uber rides. One driver begged me not to cancel him since he was coming from a long distance and was being delayed by traffic. I felt bad and waited only for me to rush through the airport and barely make my flight. i gave yellow cab the benefit of the doubt and again reserved my last cab ride to the airport for a 5am pickup. Yellow cab drivers were for the most part, always prepared and would usually call prior to pickup in order to confirm the pickup location. My 5am pickup for my last reservation came and had not receive a call nor have a taxi arrive. I called yellow cab only for them to confirm that, Yes we have your reservation but it appears the driver pickup someone else instead of me and left. They apologized to me for the mistake and told me they would send me another cab. I asked how long that would take and was told for me to call back if no cab arrived for me in 20 minutes. I told yellow cab that was unacceptable since i needed to be at the airport in 10 minutes. I told them the driver scheduled to pick me up was careless and irresponsible and should have called his fare in order to confirm the correct customer. We are very lucky to have found a regular driver we use for airport trips but for in town destinations as needed, I usually call YCC. I recently called for a driver and 6:30pm pick up, mind you, I made the reservation mid afternoon to ensure a timely pick up and b/c 5-6:30 is totally witching hour. I called 8 minutes after my pick up time came and went, it turns out their 'system was down' and all drivers are receiving requests at the same time for all needs from 6:30pm and after. Well then. I ended up being picked up close to 7pm, the time I had anticipated arriving at my destination. The driver was wonderful but with a $50 event ticket, late arrival and a $46 (after grat) ride downtown, I see why the old VIA used to be my method of getting to the River. Bottom line, I would be miles happier if YCC arrived on time consistently, if SA drivers would reach the posted speed limit and if lights on NW Military were not timed to hit red after red. read more

I scheduled a pickup online with a day's notice. When the appointed hour came I watched for a car and waited for a call. Neither came. I ended up having to find another ride to the airport without any lead time. I come to find out that the dispatcher had offered the pickup to all of the drivers in the area and none of them took it. Was on Fredericksburg heading home from work. Stopped at a red light waiting to turn right when a taxi cab from Yellow Cab Pizza Co. Rear-ended me. No damage to the vehicle, but when I pulled into the parking lot to exchange information, he drove away. Furthermore, when I called the company to register a complaint, they were extremely dismissive and said it was no good because I didn't get a plate number. Which I didn't because the driver hit and ran. The point is, if taxis are in trouble secondary to rideshare programs, they should conduct themselves with a higher level of professionalism. I work at a restaurant and a family from another country was visiting and asked me to call a cab for them because they couldn't use their cell phone. I chose to call yellow cab. They said my cab would be there as soon as possible. 40 minutes went by and after seeing the driver accepted the request on my phone and still hadn't arrived, I called them again. The lady said my driver was "3 miles away" and he never showed. I called them again and repeated how the lady said he was 3 miles away for the guy on the phone to tell me that the cab was not coming. One of the taxi drivers rear ended us causing $4k in damage. The driver (cab #159) apparently wasn't insured and they have ignored our insurance company's attempts to get them to pay our deductible. After blocking access to the airport passenger loading zone by stopping right in the middle of the road, he apparently didn't appreciate me using my horn, so he took his sweet time unloading his passengers, provoking the ire of many drivers behind me. I had an excellent experience today using Yellow Cab!!! I believe my driver's name was Kaan (he gave me the spelling but I may be remembering wrong). He arrived to my house within minutes after I called, knew exactly where I wanted to go & we got there promptly. I was picking up my dad's car from the city impound lot & was a little uncertain of their procedures and Kaan was nice enough to wait for a few minutes to give me a chance to make sure I was exactly where I needed to be. When I returned to tell him that this was the right place & I hoped that the car would start, he gave me his cell number and told me not to hesitate to call him if I needed him to come back to get me. When you're stuck in a part of town that you are totally unfamiliar with, it is so comforting to know that someone will be there for you if things go wrong. It's not often that I need to take a cab but after this wonderful experience, Yellow Cab will be my only choice! If anyone from the company sees this, please highly praise Kaan (and apologize if I have misspelled his name)! Horrible. Wish I could give zero stars. While visiting my son in Fort Sam Houston-San Antonio, I specifically called Yellow cab to request a taxi with on post access. However, the driver who arrived did not have necessary credentials to enter post. I contacted yellow cab again to explain the issue and to request a driver with on post access. AGAIN, I was sent a driver who could not take my son through the post gate. Having no other option, my son took the last cab to avoid missing curfew and walked to his barracks. I am disappointed with yellow cab's service and will make sure to use alternate transportation in the future. read more
