California Yellow Cab is funded by OCTA to taxi seniors residing Rancho Santa Margarita, for free. As I am newly approved for this program, I had high expectations, but am greatly disappointed. Two weeks ago, I arranged for a 2:15 return from the Pavilions pharmacy. When late, I was unable to reach a live person. 45 minutes late, my driver arrived. Had I known, I could have walked home in less than 35 minutes. Today, I placed a request for a 2:15 pickup to take me to my dentist for a 2:40 appointment time. It's only a 7 minute drive (2.4 miles) for which I allotted 30 minutes time. When no driver text assignment appeared, I phoned dispatch to inquire why and said, "if you are short on driver's, let me know now as I'm still in time to bike to my appointment." The dispatcher expressed astonishment. Did he imagine that an old person could not ride a bike? He said he would send dispatch a note. That was not helpful, since I knew not whether to wait for a driver or bike. I checked Lyft and learned I could have a pickup in 3 minutes. Before confirming, I phoned Yellow Cab to cancel, but dispatcher couldn't find my ride request, causing me to lose the nearest available Lyft driver and ultimately miss my appointment. I surmise that since my city, RSM, began limiting senior rides to only the city limits, whereas previously most all of So Cal was covered, Yellow Cab no longer views the Senior Mobility account as profitable. Understandable, but they should renegotiate their contract or advise customers to allow for up to a 90 minute window pickup to ensure that disabled and/or senior customers can keep their appointments. read more

Taxi 487 was driving over 90 mph on the freeway and weaving. I am disabled, so I need to use OC ACESS (and taxis) to get around OC. When I called OCTA, I requested that I am not paired with taxi 487 again and they said there was nothing they could do. As a disabled person who cannot drive, I am disappointed with OCTA and Yellow cab. read more

One star is too good for a rating. I made a reservation and received an e-mail confirmation for a cab to pick me up at 6:15 P.M. to drive me to a New Year's Eve party. I waited at the stated pick-up area until 6:25 P.M. but the cab never arrived. I called the general number and received a recorded message that they were still attempting to find a driver and could not provide an estimated time for arrival. If Yellow Cab knew that they could not fulfill their commitment, I should have received an e-mail message or phone call to advise me that a cab would not be picking me up as opposed to just blatantly ignoring me. Also, I had a confirmed reservation for Yellow Cab to pick me up from the party, but as the company did not have the courtesy to let me know no one was coming to take me to the party, I felt no obligation to cancel my reservation for them to pick me up from the party and take me home. Needless to say, I made other arrangements and will never use this company's services again. read more

Beyond rude customer service. Instead of assuming you have my correct phone number you should actually confirm it when I first booked my taxi. When I call up wanting to know the location of my taxi don't give me attitude saying I gave you a out of service number . If I am calling you to get a cab does it make sense that I would do that! It not my fault you heard the wrong area code. Oh and definitely don't think after you start giving me a tirade about needing to speak up when you heard me fine before. I had an unusual situation -- I was walking in my Mission Viejo quiet homeowners association neighborhood at midnight, trying to catch up with my husband who was walking the dogs, and out of nowhere, I was approached by a older black woman who looked homeless (she had 2 tote bags and a back pack too). She started by asking me what I was doing out so late, and then she complimented me on looking so pretty (my husband and I just returned from an evening out). She then asked if I had a cup of coffee, and if I had a spare coat and pants? I had her follow me to my house (just a couple of blocks away). I had her wait on my porch (my husband sat with her), while I gathered up a coat, scarf, sweat pants and a blanket -- she said she lived in Torrance/Redondo Beach and wanted a cab (she had no money).... I have no idea how she to to Mission Viejo in the first place... I asked, but her answers made no sense. I called Yellow Cab and explained the situation. The Dispatcher was great-- he called around and found a driver willing to help driver her as far as the cash I had on hand (we agreed to a cash price.). It took about 45 min, but the driver who came was wonderful... He was a very compassionate caring person. He and I talked first, and then she got in the cab. He talked to her too, and together, we agreed on the best plan -- he would take her to Santa Ana bus station where she could wait a few hours and then take a bus home. I really appreciated Yellow Cab's helping me to help this woman who was in need.... the dispatcher and the driver were both very, very kind. read more

Although it took over an hour for then to get a driver to me after the promised 15 minute arrival time (supposedly my driver went home and didn't tell them), when the replacement taxi got there (I guess he had been waiting outside Patsy's), he was fast, friendly and I would use him again. I only have 3 stars because of the initial mess up with the taxi and having to wait over an hour for local service. read more

If you need to be somewhere at a certain time... do not use this company. They told me they were going to be here in 15 minutes. It's been 45 minutes and they're still not here!!! They just called me to confirm the address because the address that they had was incorrect. Unbelievable! Usually I'd use Uber but since I had to find a taxi for one of our consultants at work, I had to call a taxi. Also, the service is probably the worst I've experienced. When I initially called, the man who answered the phone was very rude. He kept cutting me off when I was giving him the address... Maybe if he didn't cut me off, they would've had the right address the first time! Super unprofessional. I felt like I was talking to a lazy man that was drinking bear and sitting in front of the TV. So irritated with this company. Unreliable and terrible customer service!! read more

Yellow Cab taxi was supposed to be at our business by 2:30pm. When they were not there, we called Yellow Cab. Their response was that they were trying to locate a taxi in our area and that it would be another 25 minutes. Our business is located 10 minutes from John Wayne airport. We will be looking for other taxi companies. read more

This is actually for the Yellow Cab Rancho Santa Margarita location. I couldn't find it on the list. Two weeks ago I was terribly ill with food poisoning and mid-afternoon I was advised by the nurse in my doctor's office to head to an urgent care. I'm a single mom so no husband to drive me and I was too sick to drive myself, so I called Yellow Cab taxi. The man who drove the taxi was so very nice to me. I wasn't able to make it to urgent care without throwing up several times, out the window, down the side of his taxi. When he got me to the urgent care he gave me his personal number and said, "When you get done make sure to call me and I will come quickly to take you home." When he picked me up the first thing he did was go to his trunk and grab me two bottles of water in case I needed something to drink. I was feeling a little better, so we chatted all the way home and when he dropped me off he told me he hoped I felt better soon. This taxi driver made me feel so much better when I was in an unfortunate, and vulnerable state. I told him he deserved for others to know that if they need a taxi, he is the one to call. His name is Abdul Khan. If you are calling Yellow Cab for a taxi, see if you can request him. Nice guy. I hope his supervisors see this. read more

The worst business I think I've ever come in contact with!!! I scheduled a cab for pickup the night before and got a confirmation code. the morning of when they are 10 minutes late I call and it takes forever to get ahold of somebody. I explained to her the cab is late and she tells me with an attitude that they can't guarantee the cab being on time!!! Why the hell would I sit around and hope the cab shows up on time to take me to the airport. Isn't that the whole point of getting a cab so that you get to your destination on time. Do they assume that people will just sit around and wait until they find a cab to pick them up?!? My question is, was anybody going to let me know a cab was not coming at my reserved time? I don't understand how you run a business that entails picking people up, but you pick them up whenever you feel like it or better yet don't even let them know they are not being picked up on time!!! read more

A joke. Tried to give a cab company a chance as we needed a minivan. Was told 20-25 minutes by dispatch. After 25 minutes someone else called and said there actually weren't any in my area and had no idea that someone had told me otherwise. Wasted half an hour for an imaginary cab. Thank god for ride sharing; I wish I could support cab companies but it's this BS with yellow cab every time. read more

I used yellow cab twice this week and each time the driver arrived fairly quickly. The first time they arrived within 20 minutes and the second time within 25 minutes. Both times I called them it was around 4 p.m. which is during high traffic. I'm pleased with how quickly they arrived and I will absolutely call them again the next time I need taxi service. read more

I would like to talk about what a joke yellow cab is. I called and ordered a cab and said I needed it as soon as possible. After 40 min I called back asked what was going on I was still waiting they informed me they were still locating someone, that should of been my first clue. Over an hour after my call they called me to inform me that a taxi service could not pick up a customer. ..REALLY isn't that your job? You would think with Uber competition they would be on of their buisness, but I guess not because they referred me to another company. So because of a pathetic joke of a company I must wait even longer to get home. What a joke yellow cab needs to get their crap together before Uber takes all their business. If I had the option to give this company a minus - 1 star I would. Giving this company a one star is a compliment. A compliment in which they don't deserve. The man on the phone was so rude from the beginning to the end of the call. He was so grouchy. You can tell he hates his job. I had called another taxi before calling this taxi company. But sadly, it never came. I waited an hour for that taxi and I was told 15 mins. So I called this company and I told them that I called another taxi but they never came. He denied service to me and told me to wait for that other taxi I called earlier even though I told him that I already waited for an hour. I guess he was trying to look out for taxi drivers in general which I don't get because I'm the one who was stood up and waited for an hour. Don't waste your time. I couldn't believe the driver of cab number (Prius) 361 asked for a $20 deposit to drive me 2 miles; it wasn't only insulting the way he asked for the money but also the disgusting odor of cheap cologne and BO... simply rude. No wonder Uber & others are putting them out of business. read more
