Cab 4953 should not drive anyone anywhere. There is an on ramp from MLK to 95N which I was already on. Instead of merging behind me (as is the correct way) he zoomed up, cut in front of me on the curve which forced me to slam on my brakes. I am NOT a slow driver. He had a passenger in the car. It's clear why people prefer Uber or Lyft. Cab service is heinous. read more

I was prepared to be disappointed, but was delighted, instead. My car left me stranded at the grocery store, and of couse it was well past service hours at the garage. So, I called Yellow Cab for a ride home. The price was about what I expected, but the cab was clean, and the driver was well-dressed and conversational, without being pushy. He got me home by the most direct route, and helped unload the groceries -- at least as far as the back porch. I belive it was actually a Gator City cab that picked me up, but... multiple companies operate out of the same office. The dispatcher who took my call was pleasant, as well. read more

This is probably the worst experience with a cab company in my life! My hotel called them 5 times, and one time they claimed they waited at the front for me for 10 minutes (we were waiting outside, at the front!) while we saw that particular can pull into a gas station, grab something, and leave! When it becomes dangerously close to me missing my flight the cab finally shows up... Cab 4771 AND HE HAS HIS PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND IN THE BACK. With a hot Starbucks, of course. He asks me my airline and I tell him southwest, he drives 7 minutes and tries to drop me at delta. I think he was high. Either way, avoid at ALL costs!!!! read more

My driver Lyonel could not have been more perfect. A car rental company left myself & my husband stranded & we're elderly on top of that. I guess they expected us to walk across the Buckman bridge in extreme heat and I will NEVER EVER use enterprise leasing in Orange Park or Mandarin again. The manager at the Mandarin location was indifferent to our plight and just said "oh well, that's our company's policy " I had to call yellow cab to at least take us home, but our driver was kind enough to stop by JEA to pay our utility bill & also was kind enough to wait for me as I picked up a few items at Publix. Their cars are super clean and the drivers are far & away much better than Enterprise rental who didn't even offer any options & totally left 2 seniors to fend for ourselves. Not a good experience, no apologies, nothing..plus they charged us the highest retail price of right at $60 per day on a car that was listed as an economy car. Please read your contract and be aware of what your signing. I feel like we were taking advantage of when we were stranded but apparently that's Enterprise's claim to fame. I'd hate to be the first to be rating this taxi company and pointing out this *one* driver/cab of this, but I guess the business has to understand that these drivers are the face of the company. It was dirty and smelly. Bad. got me to the destination fine though and the fare was under what I expected (or was told). hence 2 stars. read more

Once again I was left without going to a very important medical procedure I was to have. Some lady driver called me at 9:20 in the morning and said she'll be there at 9:45 like okay cool I'll get there a few minutes early which is what I needed to do then she called back 2 seconds later and she said that you'll be able to get there till 10 that the company put more people on her manifest and she was far away and couldn't get there on time and I said well maybe I need to call dispatch or maybe find another ride is that what you're asking me to do and then she said yeah you should call dispatch l asked for number she said she didn't have it hung up. I then call logistic care they couldn't get through very long time almost 45 minutes and I had to change my appointment I cannot afford to pay the late fee if you show up late. Transport companies that transport Medical people, should really realize that we are in need we are sick we are not well that we need to be there on time and if I made my appointment almost 2 weeks prior there should be no mistaking getting me on time.. picking me up to drop me off at a decent time. Yes.we all realize that there are roadblocks ..God Knows I've waited hours. My dilemma is I don't understand how a driver can call me up and explain to me I say okay..but she's in a bad mood or she's already started her day off wrong she has no right to even hang up on me what she did which was rude. I don't even know why because all I did was ask for the dispatchers number and call me back again and hang up on me again because she's angry or frustrated at the people who run the medical pick up drop off part of it I'm not sure but I didn't get to deserve to get treated like the way I did it again today and I'm going to try to find a CEO or somebody of upper echelon of the management that's going to hear me and at least take my word for what I'm saying and maybe change some things for the better. So..the same procedure they didn't even come to get me last month. I Waited a whole month again an they are hurting the quality of my life so very important procedure that I missed. read more

First off, the DRIVER was fine. The cab was clean. That said, if I have a choice, I'll never call Yellow/Gator City Cab again. Dispatcher was in Palm Beach - 300 miles away. Had no clue about any of Jacksonville's major streets/intersections. 45 minutes after my initial call, no cab, so I called back. Asked if the driver got shot/robbed/quit??? Dispatcher said "I don't know". 25 minutes after that, the cab showed up. Hailing one on the street or at the airport? MAYBE. Call? NEVER. read more

We called and made a reservation for a taxi at 3:56 p.m. for a 5:00 p.m. same-day pick up going to the Jacksonville airport. These stooges were not there, could not locate the driver or a driver in the area and totally let us down. After waiting anxiously for 30 mins for Gator City/Yello Cab Co to call her with an ETA, my boss managed to flag down an employee of the client she was visiting who was kind enough to give her a ride to Jacksonville airport. She made it by the skin of her neck through security 20 mins before the flight took off at 6:30 p.m. when Gator City Taxi FINALLY called her to tell her they had reached the pick up address -- that would be all of 1 hour and 10 mins late. Thank Goodness for on-line check-in and the luck that this nice young man was willing and able to take her to the airport or she would have missed the last flight of the day back to DC and would have had to overnight in Jacksonville, if not, cost our client a lot of money in rerouting airfare back to DC. My husband and I have been using Robert Joseph since November 2013 cab #4784 and now he has a new cab #5107. We use Robert's service weekly for business and personal use. Robert ALWAYS shows up early for our pick up times. Robert always goes above and beyond his duties as a driver...he even takes our bags to and from the car. Robert's cab is ALWAYS CLEAN and smells nice. I highly recommend Robert to anyone needing a ride. read more

I called yellow cab and scheduled a cab and was told it would be there in 15 min. It arrived over half an hour later. Then the driver told me he needed to stop and get gas. That took some more time. When we finally got to my destination I gave him my c.c. And was told that I should have told him I was using a card. He should have told me that the card machine wasn't working. It's common sense that not a lot of people use cash nowadays. By the time he found a pen and filled out the carbon c.c. paper and drew in the dollar signs after I had to write in the amount since he wanted me to sign a blank form with only my c.c. info on it, I was over half an hour late to my training meeting and was told to try again next Sunday. Now I have to go all the way back home after spending $30 on a worthless cab ride. I would rather walk home than take a yellow cab. read more

I needed a taxi to return an 8' ladder to the store, as it wouldn't fit into my car. I called Yellow Cab after reading their reviews. Even though the reviews were mixed, since I had dealt with them before, I called and scheduled a cab. I was braced for a bad experience but was pleasantly surprised. Ranko called shortly to let me know he was headed my way and called again in about 15 minutes to let me know he was entering my complex. He heaved the ladder into the van and we were off. He went the straightest route and didn't waste time. He was very nice to talk to and polite. We arrived at the store and I asked if he could stay while I made the return. He said "of course". Expecting to do this myself, I looked for a shopping cart while he removed the ladder from the van. Instead of loading the ladder into the cart, he grabbed the ladder and took it into the store for me, waited in line with me, and then took me back home. He even gave me a bottled water, which was ice cold. Ranko turned an unwanted chore into a pleasant experience. This will be the last time I will ever consider using Yellow Cab after having two bad experiences of no shows ! The first time was in February, when I had called at least an hour in advance for a cab to take me to my Doctor Appointment. I was very clear that i had to be picked up at a certain time to make the appointment. They assured me I would get there in plenty of time. After two more calls inquiring where were they, I was told he was running a little behind. Finally, I had to ask a neighbor to take me! Of course, I was late, which made me have to be squeezed in between other appointments, which turned out to be over a 3 hour wait. This next and LAST time I called, which was today, I made sure I called plenty in advance, was told by the girl not to worry, I would make my appointment on time. Twenty minutes passed and I called back and was told this time, they still haven't located a driver for me. I was furious! The gentleman told me there were no guarantee times. Ten minutes later, I called them back and this time I got the girl who assured me I wouldn't miss my appointment.I told her I was cancelling the cab, and I would never again be using them. She then said what the gentleman had said, there were no guarantee times to be picked up. I then corrected her and told her SHE was the one who TOLD me not to worry, I would make my appointment!
