I called for a cab to pick me up from the Central bus station downtown Birmingham after work Friday evening. It took over 30 minutes for a cab to show up. When I was told that it would take 5 to 20 minutes. I was also told the the driver would contact me upon arrival. The driver NEVER CONTACTED ME. AND REPORTED BY TO THEIR HEAD QUARTERS THAT THEY'D ALREADY PICK ME UP. I was tired and very cold standing out there waiting on a cab that actually drove past me. Then lied saying that I'd been picked up. I had to call back two more times to order another cab before I actually got one. read more

If I knew Yellow Cab had a Yelp page a couple of months ago I would have wrote the review then. My incident occurred during Slice Fest. Birmingham is a smaller city so this was the only MAJOR event going on that day. My boyfriend and I were so hot and decided to call it a night and call a cab. We asked to be picked up at Moe's BBQ, there is only one location in the downtown area and the operator had no clue where we were talking about. You should probably learn the area before becoming a dispatcher. So on the day of a MAJOR event in Birmingham I find it extremely unacceptable they had no cab to pick us up. Also, we left way before the event was even over so it's not like a ton of the attendees were looking for cabs simultaneously. As a result we walked two miles home risking our safety because of this incompetent company. If zero stars were an option, they deserve that. read more

Awful. Operator was extremely rude, told me to double check my address then just hung up me as I was double checking. I called again and they said they sent a cab. It never came. Tip: Call someone else. Anyone else. Or walk. read more

My damn driver isn't even here yet and I'm already compeled to give a 1 star review. Let's start by the dispatcher who hung up on me when I asked where my driver was. Apparently they don't know WHERE on God's creation their drivers are, or they just refuse to tell anyone. I can't wait for uber to launch and destroy this sorry company. No clue why there are no good reviews. I called Silver Cab and they could not pick us up so they suggested Yellow Cab. They got there quickly and prices were not bad. Driver was very courteous and made conversation the whole trip. Will definitely use them again! read more

Made a reservation for a ride from a local business to the airport six hours before the scheduled pickup. Driver called five minutes before pickup, said they drove the wrong way and would be 25 minutes late, but even then never showed up. I ended up missing my original flight & rebooked on another airline. Yellow Cab Birmingham cost me $700 in extra tickets and change fees. AVOID at ALL COST. read more

I've had incredibly mixed feelings with Yellowcab for a long time now. I have had drivers who show up on time, have a clean cab, make lots of great conversation, and get me where I need to go without fault. On the other hand, I have had drivers never show up, or show up an hour late, get lost on the way to my destination, cabs that smelled like pot, cab drivers obviously on drugs a lot more problematic than pot, drivers that have borderline sexually harassed me, or made me very anxious with their poor driving skills. Ultimately, I feel much safer with Uber. As a woman travelling alone in a city often, the accountability of having my drivers' information in the app makes me more comfortable than texting my friends or significant other a cab number when I get in. read more

They are a horrible company. This is why Uber is so popular. I was watching a AA baseball game at the stadium. I called for a ride back to my hotel. He asked for the address. I told him I was standing at the corner of 1st and 14th and gave the name of the baseball stadium. He asked for the address of the stadium with the zip code. I said I don't know. I am at 1st and 14th at the stadium. He said go find out the address and hung up on me. I had to walk back to my hotel at 10 O'clock at night. read more

Worst ever. Seriously deserve no stars. We "prebooked" a cab for New Years morning (1:15am) via the website three days prior, received a confirmation email and everything. Nobody showed up come 120am so called the number on our confirmation email and were told "nothing was guaranteed" and we were welcome to leave a message with a manager. Had to pay $100 (!!!!) extra for an über to take us home. Worst company ever. Save yourselves and use uber instead if you want a reliable ride. read more

Don't use Yellow Cab!! They almost made me miss a flight even though I called the day before to schedule a pick up. The driver seemed stoned and could care less. He was 30 minutes late and no one at dispatch seemed to know what was going on. Very unprofessional! read more
