They have a limited selection of books; but the library actually has one of those old school library feels. I see the librarians greet the children by name as they come in from school. I even see some of the librarians let the children use the phone to make personal calls. It is a fantastic place. I'm hoping that it sticks around!

I like to request books from other Delco libraries and pick up here. They also have museum passes like for Tyler Arboretum and participate in the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program. The staff is friendly and helpful, they told me about the Delco Reads app. It's been really convenient to request books and keep track of what I have checked out. I am always requesting books from other libraries and I look forward to my trips to the library every week to say hi to Caroline our neighborhood librarian!

Decided to stop in Tuesday night since they are open 10-7 then and Thursday. The space is definitely a lot smaller than you'd think from the outside. The actual library is on the 2nd floor with some kind of office (Probably the history room; I didn't look at the sign too long as there was a meeting going on and the door was ajar.) off of the flight of steps. It is probably around the same size of my highschool's bibliophile hangout. The selection is definitely just as meager and the shelves seemed disorganized, but, I did manage to find 4 titles too take home. Maybe I was missing something and overlooked the 20k volume they boast. This isn't their fault, but, just as a note the Delaware County Library System doesn't seem as tech-savvy with their website features as Philly. I really enjoyed an more user-friendly catalog and being able to do inter-library loans digitally. They do have an Ebook and audio service, though, which is a plus to make up for that. I'm curious to see what sort of programs they have for adults as time passes as I don't have children. The only thing I saw advertised was computer literacy classes. It is worth bringing the kiddies, though, as they hold family movie nights among other events. Otherwise the staff was nice and the space was quiet and cozy. Will return, though, I may be talking to one of the staff to bring me in some titles in the near future.

Yes, I'm reviewing a library. I know, I know. It's weird, right?…read more I was in panic mode during my final days of studying for a certification exam for my work, so I decided to head over to the library to free me from distractions so I could really focus. Let me tell you, folks, heading to this location for some peace and quiet was a BIG mistake. The library itself is on the small scale with a few tables set up here and there and, from what I could tell, two computers that were available to use. I headed for the back corner (prime studying location), which happens to be next to the location where the two librarians are parked doing their thing. Within five minutes of being there, the librarians were in full on conversation mode about their cats, their friends' cats, this person's family, that person's car...whatever they could possibly think of. This is a library, right? Right. What happened to all the shhh-ing and the inside voices? Or have the rules changed? I decided to stick around and pop on my headphones to drown them out. But just when I was getting back into the wonderful world of Finance, an older gentleman came in to check out a book. This wouldn't have been an issue, but it turns out he already had FOUR overdue books out. Scandalous!!! I couldn't take anymore. I lasted twenty minutes in there. And no, I didn't say anything to them. I should have, but I was better off just walking out and going back home. I guess what I'm trying to say here is, don't come to this location if you're trying to study or concentrate. Or if you do, I wish you better luck than I had.
