I like to come on weekdays with my little one when there aren't too many people at the library. They have a nice play area! There's plenty of toys, seating, and kids books to check out. I like to request books from other Delco libraries and pick up here. They also have museum passes like for Tyler Arboretum and participate in the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program. The staff is friendly and helpful, they told me about the Delco Reads app. It's been really convenient to request books and keep track of what I have checked out. I am always requesting books from other libraries and I look forward to my trips to the library every week to say hi to Caroline our neighborhood librarian! read more

There are a ton of activities for all age groups so we definitely like visiting There are only a few parking spaces so we usually walk or go off hours. The building is small but it's nicely organized and the space is perfectly used. They have all types of items to borrow. You can also reserve items online. Been going here for years. The staff are helpful and friendly and there is plenty to check out. While the size of the library seems cozy on the inside don't think it is. There's a lot going on and plenty of rooms for anyone looking for books (it includes a room that sells their giveaway books and donated ones they don't need). While usually there seems to always be a lot of noise today was an exception (probably because it was around early evening). While this isn't my favorite library it is one I go to a lot when I need a book I don't feel like buying (you can even have one sent from a further library to here no charge). Lansdowne Public Library is great for anyone in the area with most book needs! read more

Had a great visit here with my oldest grandson. The staff was very helpful as it was our first time. They were very nice & helped us with everything we needed. They informed us of upcoming activities & my grandson is very eager to be involved. The library was clean & orderly. There's a variety of video & reading materials for both children & adults. If something isn't available, they will request it for you when you return. I'm glad we came here & we will be returning often!! read more

Small Town Library's are more than that; they are a local information gathering hub, part day care, inexpensive way to catch up on Hard Copy News through: Newspaper, Magazine. Peace and Quiet, as in Shushing You for every Expressive Thought does not happen here!!!! There are places that can accommodate you, but you will be alone......very alone. i have been using the library since i moved here in 1964, it has never been that loud. They need to get their Music Lending Library more in "TUNE" with the times; other than that, i have no complaints, really. The WIFI comes in handy for your hand held devices. Be ready to spend some time for your first Log In at the Computers. i have never heard a complaint about this Library, only what i read here. Go For It. read more

This is my library of choice when I want to work in a quiet space closer to my home. The workers are very nice and helpful. Very accessible by SEPTA and it has a free parking lot. They have tables and cubbies where you can set up your things. There are only 3 cubbies, so the earlier you get there, the better. The cubbies also have their own power sources. They have areas for public computers as well. The WiFi has a very strong signal. When I set up, put on my headphones, and power up my laptop, I can get a lot of uninterrupted work done. They print and fax for you, and you can pay via cash and card. If you are printing things such as resumes, you have a choice of different paper types, and the prices are still very good. The bathrooms are kept clean. 1 pro- They are located immediately near Aldi Supermarket, Wawa, Dollar General, and several food and other stores. If you're driving, a little further down the road about 5 minutes, you will run into Empire Diner, McDonald's, Goodwill (a very large one), and Giant Supermarket. 2 cons- 1) The sidewalk space along Lansdowne Avenue isn't very wide, so be careful if you have to walk along the street. 2) If you come outside and cross Lansdowne Avenue on foot, please make sure that no cars will come speeding over the bridge while you're crossing. I really wanted to like this library, really I did. I just couldn't do it. The Lansdowne library is small, which wouldn't be a bad thing if they could enforce the general rules of the library. Instead, there are children running around and yelling. There are only two outlets in the entire library and a lot of times, people are unwilling to share table space (how rude!). Even the librarians themselves are loud - if I can hear you through my headphones and music, you should not be working at the library! I understand that a good library has programs for the community - but every night? That means that the folks looking for a quiet place to study and do work are out of luck. August 5, 2019 I had problems using the copier and went to one of the workers by the name of Elijah. While walking back to the copier I noticed an irate woman waiting to use the copier. I told her that i will be finish in a minute. She became agitated and ask Elijah if there was another copier and Elijah told her no. Elijah couldn't help me so he went to get his co-worker. The woman who was waiting became more irate. But I kept working with the copier. While Elijah was behind the desk lounging with his book, he looked over and noticed the angry woman but he never came over to help the situation. I told the irate woman that I was done and she can use the printer yet she continued talking loud and crazy. I put together my things to leave the library. As I was passing Elijah, he had a smirk on his face. I couldn't believe it. All of this would had stop if Elijah would have came over to the copier and kept everyone in order. Just letting everybody know to be very careful when going into any public place. If a person is irate. Just ignore them because anything can happen. As you can see there is so much going on in the world today. Be very careful. I just wish that Elijah would have done his job and the co-worker would have stayed. Stay safe. read more
