This was by far my favorite tour that we took while in Boston. We visited sites along the Freedom Trail while stopping in at 3 historic pubs for a pint. Our tour guide Sean was fun and very knowledgeable. This walking tour is a must do. Huzzah! read more

Amazing. I know that sounds cliche but seriously. We had Brooke as our guide. She is the owner and has a PhD in history. I can't even begin to explain how amazing this tour was but I'll try. First, being in the actual areas where history happened is just mind blowing. Being with Brooke really drove that point home. Standing at the area where the Boston Massacre happened and realizing it was a snow ball and propaganda that drove everything is really humbling. Going on the bar crawl and drinking where Paul Revere and Hancock drank was just cool. This was an amazing experience. We ran into a few other tours along the way and I felt a little smug with how superior ours was to theirs. If you are are deciding on a tour and you like beer, seriously, pick this one. read more

This was our last tour on our weeks vacation on the East coast. We were not disappointed and because we had done several different tours we really understood so much of what Brooke was talking about. Her knowledge of Bostons history was amazing! I am not a beer drinker but my family really enjoyed that part of the tour! You won't be disappointed in this tour. My 83 year old dad and 78 year old mom really had a great time and it wasn't too much walking for them. read more

Ye Olde Tavern Tours - Last stop - Tours Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

This tour came highly recommended by friends who had visited Boston and had done the tour. Our tour guide was Kelly and she was great, super knowledgeable, made the tour fun, all the information shared was interesting. We also had a chance to meet Brooke (the founder) briefly, and she was super approachable and outgoing. I highly recommend this tour, it was so much fun. I'd do it again if they had different bars and sites we could check out. My family and I are beer drinkers so it was a bonus to stop and enjoy a cold one at each tavern. If you're on the fence, don't be, you won't regret it. read more

Had a great day! Knowledgable guide, great personality. Highly recommend.

I am so glad I stumbled across this tour on TripAdvisor! This was the perfect way to hear about our history on the 3rd of July right before celebrating our independence! We met some great friends that day that we saw later during our trip and went back to eat and drink at the Green Dragon on the 4th of July. My boyfriend loves history and teaches AP Government so Brooke was able to answer all the questions he asked to strengthen his knowledge. Thanks to her he is now obsessed with Hamilton! read more

LOVED our tour with Brooke! She had tons of fun, interactive stories, history from your traditional perspective, and great beer!

I highly, highly recommend this tour. I rarely consider group tours but this one is fantastic. Just the right size group. Highly knowledgeable guides and great local beer. They make history fun. read more

This review is long overdue! This was the best experience of our entire guy trip and our tour guide was super fun. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't the greatest but we still had a bunch of fun learning about Boston and drinking some booze. When I returned to California, I could not stop saying the word "Huzzah "(spoiler!) when cheersing. I would highly recommend this tour if you're wanting a fun experience and like to go to cool bars. read more

Had a really great time on our tour around the Freedom Trail. Our guide, Brooke (the founder), was incredibly friendly and energetic. She was knowledgeable, shared recommendations for the beer on the tour, and of course shared a lot of fun historical notes about spots around Downtown Boston. The beers available on the tour were good and the taverns we visited were interesting. My only minor complaint would be that it felt a bit rushed at times, but that was no doubt influenced by the other group in our tour arriving late and the tour guide wanting to stick to how long the tour was supposed to take. Highly recommend! read more

Kelly was amazing. She offered some many insights a local history teacher/history lover could offer. Very friendly. Made a few friends on the tour visited several good taverns in historic areas of downtown. Highly recommend to spend a few hours with this tour group. Small, personal, friendly, knowledgeable... learn while sipping good beer. read more

I would have loved to have gone on this tour it sounds amazing. We are scheduled today at 2 pm. However due to our flight cancellation last night we will not be in town by 2 pm and they will not work with me to reschedule to another date. Tickets were not cheap, I am now starting vacation With the additional costs of a hotel for a Friday night and the loss of over $150 for two tickets to this tour. Very unhappy. read more

Right up front let me say, I don't like going on guided tours. This was awesome!!! I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed this. Brooke really did a phenomenal job. Her passion for the history of the American Revolution and the town of Boston really shone here. This was not like a high school history lesson. No bud light or coors here. Great stuff. A fun, engaging, walk through Boston with stops for craft beer? Yes, please. read more

We had 12 hours in the City and wanted to explore the history of Boston, while enjoying the tavern scene. It was chilly and windy, but that never slowed us down. Brooke, the guide was excellent! She was extremely knowledgeable, with great stories and visual aids. She made everyone feel welcomed and was very passionate about the history of our founding fathers. Brooke was able to tie the history of Boston and a few great taverns without any difficulty. I can't think of a better way to spend a couple hours. I strongly recommend this tour, you will not be disappointed. read more

This was a great and interesting tour of Boston history and the days of drinking in Boston. Brooke is so passionate about her Boston history and makes it rather enjoyable. Amazing tour!!!! We came on this tour with a group of six, and the tour group capped at 12 people total. Our tour guide, Megan, was energetic, informative, and fun! All in all, very happy with the experience and would recommend to any group that's 21+ in age. read more

Take this tour!! My husband and I don't usually like group tours because they're large, obtrusive, and hard to get a personalized experience... this was the complete opposite. Small group, amazing guide, and we didn't feel like we 'stuck out' as being on a tour. Takes you to several Freedom Trail hot spots and 3 taverns where they had tables ready for us. It was nice to sit, get more stories, and of course have a drink! Really fun and engaging without being over the top energy. We were so glad we did this and I know you will be as well. Worth every cent, they really have something cool here. You guys need to bring your show down to Philly! We'll be the first in line! read more

Great tour, it was so fun and educational at the same time. Our guide Megan was awesome!! Great knowledge of the historic areas we visited and the taverns also. Great fun and beer also!!! Give it a try!! read more

Excellent tour, I couldn't believe how much I learned! Kristen was our tour guide and she was amazing. She told the history of the town in a way that was so engaging and fun and really brought the characters to life. The three pubs we went to were cool and I liked that we had a choice of beer at each pub. It lasted about 2 hours and it was definitely worth it. I would recommend to any person interested in history and beer! read more

Great historical walking tour while enjoying a beer at each tavern stop. Our guide, Kristen, was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The tour was 2.5 hours long with just the right amount of stopping, walking and drinking. read more

Brooke was an amazing guide through history for the group. Her passion for history and this tour is perfection. Been on many tours in my dozens of trips to Boston and this was by far the most fun and interesting one ever. Two and a half hours went by in a flash, don't miss it!!! read more

Great way to learn some Boston history and enjoy a few of Boston's finest brews! Three of us were visiting from SD and didn't want your typical historical heavy overload tour. We are all glad we chose this tour to take. Brooke was our guide and impressed us all with her humor, knowledge, and ability to remember everyone's names. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves history and beer! Pace was great, not strenuous at all and lots of sights to see! read more

We took this tour on a short weekend trip up from New York! Our tour guide, Brian was funny and knowledgeable. The beer was great, as was the small tour size! It was a pretty easy walk, and popping into warm taverns helped with the weather. We overheard some other tours and loved how Brian told the history like a story and shared interesting, lesser known facts! 10/10, I will look for similar tours in other cities! read more

This was the highlight of our trip to Boston. Our guide, Nina, was very knowledgeable and personable! It was so neat to hear a brief and fun history of the area while enjoying camaraderie huddling in historic taverns with our fun group. Would DEFINITELY recommend anyone to do this tour. read more

Absolutely a must do if you like history and craft beer! We went on a very rainy, very humid day. Nina was our guide and she was wonderful. She really knew her stuff and we learned so much from her in an entertaining, personable way. We went to three historic taverns, learned about their significance and history while enjoying our choice from a select list of local craft beers. In between taverns we saw other sites and Nina told us about their importance. It really was crappy weather but Nina kept our spirits up with lively narration and good humor. She did an excellent job and I would recommend this tour 100%. My only suggestion for the tour guides is it'd be helpful if they wore a lanyard with the business logo and stating they are a guide. We wore told to meet at a certain spot, and we stood around for a few minutes wondering who our guide might be. We were looking at a girl with an umbrella underneath the sign designated for meeting, and she was looking at us too until she asked us if we were with the tour. It was no big deal, and maybe they do wear ID badges normally and due to the rain that day she wasn't. Take this tour! read more

My husband didn't want to settle for a boring alcohol-free guided tour so he found this one. I am not big on history myself but let me tell you, Brooke was awesome! She has a Ph.D. In history so she knows her stuff. If she would've been my history teacher I would probably be much more excited about historical stuff like my husband is. You will walk by a lot of the key landmarks in Boston and stop at three pubs along the way for a pint which was very refreshing on the hot July day that we took the tour. You walk about a mile so it's not too bad. I would definitely dress appropriately for the weather. read more

What a fun afternoon! On a short visit to Boston and trying to cram as much history (and beer) in as possible. We had a great group and Brooke was a captivating guide. We visited pubs we might have missed on our own. She used her iPad to enhance the learning and entertained all of our questions. Definitely recommend spending the afternoon with Brooke. read more

First, we had Kristen as our tour guide and she was FABULOUS! Kristen was so enthusiastic about Boston history and you could tell she was really passionate about making sure we got some fun facts while also having a fun time! I had a team of employees coming into town and half of them wanted to do something touristy but the other half wanted to drink local beer...so I found this tour to combine the two! I am NOT a history buff at all but I absolutely LOVED all the information. It was so interesting to hear how drunken Bostonians shaped the history of our nation. Also the beer was fantastic! We did a private tour in the evening which only does 2 stops at pubs but honestly it was so worth it. Would 100% recommend and do this again. read more

We had the best time on the Ye Olde Tavern Tour-Freedom Trail last weekend! Even with the Nor'easter, THIS was our favorite part of the trip. Brooke was so energetic, informative, and engaging! We also loved the small, intimate group setting. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Boston! Huzzah! read more

My boyfriend and I took this tour on our Boston vacation and had a fantastic time! Brooke, our tour guide was warm, and knowledgeable. She made everyone in the group feel welcomed. You can tell she has a passion for sharing Boston's history over good beer. She had an iPad with visual aids, she answered questions, served us beer! Can't say enough good things about the tour and our guide Brooke! We learned quite a few facts that we would never have learned by just reading a guide book. read more

Brooke was as enthusiastic about history as I am about beer, so this ended up being the non-culinary highlight of my trip! Loved how each stop offered multiple beer options (including cider for those who can't do beer). The beers were not all pints, but given our quick pace, we'd all be sauced if they were. I wish the tour was a little longer! read more

DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS TOUR!! Absolutely AWESOME!!! Brooke was amazing, very knowledgeable and a great personality. She made the tour extremely fun and incorporated everyone in the group. If you are going to take a guided tour of the Freedom Trail, it's silly not to add a great Boston ale along the way. Brooke gives some great ideas on the ales to drink, but I her favorite is the Sam Addams "Brick Bread"! read more

This is a MUST DO in Boston! Our tour guide Brooke was absolutely fantastic! She is so passionate about what she does that even someone with no interest in American Revolutionary history at the beginning of their visit will feel enthralled with it at the end. While history buffs will be surprised with how much more they learned in just 2 hours time. Oh, and there's BEER! All of which (3 pints at 3 different taverns along the freedom trail) are covered in your ticket price. And you will be drinking some of the finest craft brews and ciders that the Boston area has to offer. I cannot say enough about how much of a pleasure this tour was. A fun, intimate, and educational way to experience the key landmarks and history that Boston has to offer. Huzzah! read more

With Brooke at the helm, you're in for a real treat! Not only is she knowledgable about Boston and its history, she's also incredibly personable and has worked out a great tour with important points, landmarks and appreciation for local breweries. A win-win in my book. Our group of 8 didn't stop talking about it all night. HUZZAH!! read more

Impressed even this local...I had a friend in town for Labor Day weekend and was looking for something fun and new, and this tour caught my eye. It was fabulous! Brooke is a fantastic guide! She kept us all entertained with tidbits of Freedom Trail history that I certainly didn't pick up on my 8th grade tour...the Taverns we visited and the beer we had made it much more interesting. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get to know Boston's history and have a lot of fun along the way. read more

Very fun and informative experience! Our tour guide Meghan was awesome! Very cool Taverns highly recommend this to visitors of Boston

This tour was fantastic. If you like beer and even remotely like history this is a must do in Boston. We are local and know more than the average person might about the American Revolution but this tour was filled with new information. More than that though - it was REALLY fun! read more

Had different family members come into Boston over the past two weekends - they were all between the ages of 24 and 32 - and we were looking for a fun, grown up tour that we could all do. Ye Olde Tavern Tour was the perfect choice! Brooke and Nina were great tour guides and really know their stuff when it comes to the history of Boston around the Revolutionary War. We all learned a ton of history and we also loved the taverns they took us to along the way. I would highly recommend the Ye Olde Tavern Tour if you are looking for a fun adult tour in Boston!!
