Her expectations (and ours) were not very high as it is hard to find truly good dining in Catron County. Boy were we wrong! The place has a great vibe with fun decor, plenty of seating, pool tables, etc. We were warmly welcomed by our server, who turned out to be one of the owners. She had an impressive knowledge of their products and shared a bit of history as well. Prod-O proudly offers craft brews and spirits from New Mexico, including their own brews and whiskey. We tried the Prad-O brews, Elfego and Eagle Peak. Both got a thumbs-up from our party. Unfortunately, we did not get to taste their in-house whiskey as it sells out faster than they can distill it. Guess that means another visit! The food did not disappoint as we enjoyed the quesadillas, pretzel with beer cheese, breadsticks, and salad, all freshly made in the kitchen by Jody, who also makes a KILLER salsa! They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights, and every band we've seen has been fantastic. We also joined in on Musical BINGO, and my husband actually won! It was such a fun and lively experience. The bartenders are friendly, engaging, and made us feel right at home. They even recognized us on our second visit, which was such an unexpected and wonderful touch. The food is amazing, too. The hamburgers are terrific, and the drinks definitely hit the spot. You can sit at the bar, relax at a table inside where it is nice and cool, or enjoy the outdoor deck overlooking the sound stage. There is also a lower seating area for anyone who likes being closer to the music and all the action. The Den is also dog-friendly, which is a huge plus when you are traveling with your furry family member--just remember to keep them off the grass.
