Statues in Ybor Centennial Park to honor some of the area's famed citizens. This is the statue for author Tony Pizzo

Ybor Centennial Park is bordered by a brick breezeway on the east and the Ybor Art Studio on the west, and it sits in about the geographic middle of Ybor City. This little park / plaza can be found between 8th and 9th Avenues, between 18th and 19th Streets, and directly across the street from one of the City's pay parking lots. Statues in the park pay homage to the influential leaders and founding fathers of Ybor City, and the nearby signage will tell you all about the City's history. On a normal day, this clean park is the resting place of many of the City's homeless. Nothing objectionable, just folks who are down on their luck, and looking for a quiet place to sit in the shade. There are public restroom facilities and a small fountain in the park, but I've never observed anything that would make me uncomfortable. This park is the site of many of Ybor City's famed Cuban sandwich, art, cigar festivals, and the weekly Ybor City Farmer's Market, so don't be surprised if you spot vendors offering their goods at little tables set up all around the perimeter on various weekends. Lots of people will park their cars in the City's metered lot across the street, and then walk over to the James Joyce Pub, or to the start of the TECO Streetcar System, and then wander through the Park at the end of their day. Oh, and let's not forget the roosters.... they wander freely through the park, and will start crowing whenever they feel like it. Makes for some very funny moments when they sneak up behind you. Ybor Centennial Park is a great place to walk around and learn a bit more about Ybor City while catching a bit of shade, and using the restroom before the ride home.

Cute little park in Ybor City. Everytime there is a festival, this is where it is. Ybor City's farmers market is always held here as well. There's nice areas for shade when the sun is too strong. There are also nice areas where you can sit around the water fountain, and admire everything around you. Make sure to listen and look out for the roosters. It's my favorite, as well as my dog, Mocha Coconut's favorite thing to spot.

Not really sure what to say about it. It's a park with lots of historical meaning, and where Cuban sandwich and cigar festivals are commonly hosted these days. It's always clean and presentable.

The nature center has a bathroom and a bit of information, but all the displays were empty, including the outdoor one that allegedly used to have a tortoise. There are canoes to rent if you're into that. Overall, it was a nice, uncrowded park to spend some time outdoors.

The center is currently closed due to Covid but the bathrooms are open. From what I could tell, on our mad dash to the bathroom and distance viewing, the displays are informative and well done. I'd love to return when it is safe to and take a look. The park has three trails that are part of the spree. We hiked the Bobcat Trail since it includes the boardwalk. The trail travels for about a half mile through trees and over dusty shells. Then it connects to the boardwalk. This was by far the best part. We walked along the beautiful, tree lined water, getting up close and personal with a bunch of small black crabs. We scanned the water for manatees but were not lucky to find any. The trail ends back at the nature center. We climbed the back steps to the top level and caught a great view of the river and the distant city. After the hike we hit up the playground for a few minutes. This is always my kids' favorite part. We also stopped off at the butterfly garden which was pretty active on this day. The park was in great shape, the bathrooms were clean, there were lots of people around doing various park things. Canoeing, kayaking, hiking, nature hunting and playing on the playground are just some of the things available at your fingertips here. So glad we visited! Can't wait to return to check out the other trails.

There are plenty of shade trees, and there are a few areas to picnic as well as different playground areas if you feel one is too crowded for your little one. We went to the larger playground area with my grandson, and he loved it. There are swingsets for all ages and abilities, which is very nice for all. The pirate ship has a great musical area as most kids like to bang on things that they can control the sounds. There are plenty of open areas to play ball or just run from tree to tree like the squirrels. My only complaint is that the park could be a little better maintained for trash. There was random garbage that people should have thrown away, but they didn't, so it made the park look a little unkempt. Parking is plentiful but not in abundance in any one area, so be prepared to park and walk to the playground on a busy weekend or after school.

We rented a "small" shelter that had 24 person capacity. An all day rental was about $27, a bargain. The park is pretty big with multiple areas where you can park, so make sure you look at a park map to get an idea of where you should park to be closest to where you want to go. The playground looked like a lot of fun, but our shelter was closer to the tennis courts, and the kids ended up just running up and down the hill, which was fine with me! The area looked well-maintained, and the shelters were in better shape than the picnic shelters in most of the South Tampa parks.
