Why 4 stars? Because this is a decent place for slow pitch softball.

A few months ago, I joined a slow pitch softball team at Ed Radice. It's about a 20 minute drive for me and is the closest field with league play. There's a lot more going on at Ed Radice from the looks of it, but I can only speak to the softball.
In our first season, the lighting was horrible on the field we played most of our games on. There was a ball lost in the lights every week. This season, we moved to a different field and the rumor is that the other field is getting better lights, so that's good to hear.
Other than lights, a huge pet peeve of mine for softball fields is when the batter's box is like a giant divot, but fortunately that is not the case here. You can really get leverage in this box, which is in great shape.
Those are the only things I really care about when it comes to a softball field. There's ample parking - and plenty that's far away from the fence so you don't have to worry about home runs breaking windows. I have never even attempted visiting the concession stand, so I can't really speak to that. Give me a decent lighting and a solid batter's box and I'm pretty content. Ed Radice has that. read more
