I came to this store years ago and got the snub because I crochet rather than knit, which I guess isn't as good to yarn snobs. So I haven't been back for a long time. After all this time, I was ready to give a second shot, so I stopped in today. I was completely ignored. Three people behind the counter talking to each other. No one greeted me. No hello. No one asked if I needed anything. I took my time heading out the door. No goodbye. I am always mystified by small shops that do nothing to gain or keep business. Yarn is an easy thing to find. Many stores and online shops can fill my needs. But it won't be this unfriendly place. read more

Fantastic store and staff. I was there for their fashion show, which was so much fun! They really care about each other, too, in addition to the wonderful selection of yarn. When you really want to make beautiful things, getting close to this yarn store is the best thing you can do toward your effort. They will encourage, inspire, support, in so many ways! This yarn shop is a wonderful place for both new and experienced knitters and crocheters. They have a wonderful selection on display of yarns, buttons, hooks, needles, bags, etc. that is always changing. Plus they provide great examples of crafted items and patterns making you just want to dive in to a new project. Yarnology offer a wide variety of classes, repeating old favorites and adding new ones. And they have a terrific online newsletter that keeps you up-to-date on the store, classes,and new yarns and patterns. But the very best thing about Yarnology is the staff. All of these Yarnologists are warm, friendly and extremely helpful. No question is too stupid and they are always available to help you when you get stuck, or to offer suggestions. They have even offered to help me over the phone! I can't recommend this yarn shop, and the Yarnologists who work there, highly enough. Real yarn... not that plastic stuff you get at the discount stores. Sure it costs more, but if I'm taking the time to knit or crochet something I want the end product to be a high quality item that is going to last years. This is my favorite yarn shop. Very friendly envirinment and helpful staff. They have a wonderful selection of yarn and knitting accessories. I stopped while moving granddaughter to college. Everyone seemed friendly and helpful. After I bought 5 skeins of yarn she preceded to wind my yarn. I sat and waited then I noticed they stopped winding my yarn and started the other customers. I was very disappointed. I asked and was told they will finish mine after hers. Why would they decided to stop helping me vs other lady? Was she a local women? Took my purchases and left. read more
