I found Goldtree through a google search, and saw they were a local company, so I gave them a call. They got back to me promptly (within about 10 minutes). As luck would have it, they were actually going to be in my area doing some other yards later in the day, and said they would come by to give an estimate, and if accepted, do the work. They showed up as scheduled, and Brian took a look around, and gave me an estimate to include mowing and trimming. Their full service actually includes more, but I wasn't that concerned with blowing debris, edging, etc. I just wanted my weeds to be back under control. The price was reasonable, and one of the things I liked is that Goldtree is willing to do a One-time service. Other lawn companies want you to sign a 5 (or more) visit contract. Anyway, Brian and his team got the job done, and about 30 minutes after they started, my lawn no longer looked like a jungle. Given their response, I would not hesitate to use them for other lawn care issues - from basic maintenance to reseeding to re-sodding.

I credit him with saving my front yard Crepe Myrtle after it split in two after being overwhelmed by snow a several winters ago. Now I make sure to trim them every other year. I asked him to do an assessment of some recent landscaping that I was disappointed with and to give me an estimate for remaining work. He told me in writing (two emails and one text) that he was going to do the assessment. It was important that he do it by a certain timeframe for a dispute with my credit card, and he was aware of that. He had from Aug. 9 through Aug. 17. Because of him, my allotted time ran out and my claim was denied. That means he cost me $3,400. And he left me no choice but to now go to small claims court. I strongly recommend against him and his company.

We paid Nolan and his crew of 3 high school students $2,000 for approximately 3.5 hours of work. He did directly express to me that finding qualified "help" was hard and that his staff did not know the difference between a weed and a plant. I can attest that it is true that he does not have a qualified staff. On our contract was for the following: yard cleanup (removing sticks, leaves, pre-bagged debris), mulching edging and weeding beds, aerating the lawn and seeding, and two mows. He asked I pay in full before the work started. Which I did. I should have known better. I generally trust people and this experience has taught me otherwise. The photos showcase the state our yard was left in. He did not pull any weeds, simply weed whacked and covered with old dried out mulch, left entire areas full of leaves and debris, failed to fully mulch the beds. He destroyed many of our annuals, with weed whackers and despite promising to make it right and replace them, never did. He was hostile, impolite, and non responsive despite many attempts to ask he simply execute on the work that was promised to us. This was a big expense for our family and I felt stolen from. I ended up doing the work myself, buying an additional 48 bags of mulch to account for the mulching that was not done, and replacing the plants that were ruined. If not for the quality of the work I would advise against using this company on principle alone - Nolan is not an honest person and I hope you are not the next person to lose money to him.
